Michelle- My dad has a pace-maker, he's had one for over 20 years now, his heart would stop beating for several long counts and start again. He's on 100 percent demand now which means the pace- maker is the only thing keeping his heart beating , thank God for pace-makers.........

Its a procedure but it could give her a whole new lease on life ,if it will work for her

And thanks for posting Cool # 9, I do enjoy it .

Anibur- I don't know 'bout better than sex ......close though ;-)

Blue_Moon McAl--Am I in trouble again because I'm over 50? And what's this about youngins being shut out of an internet site for peoples over 55? I didn't think that was possible.... I'm only 53....thought it was people over 35 or 40 who weren't allowed in younger people's online forums. :-/

CANADA IS AN AWESOME COUNTRY! Vancouver is a great place to host Winter Olympics!

Blue_Moon--"over 55's signing upto social networking sites are deterring young people from using the services..."

Yeah, Alan, tis funny but not surprising......Age discrimination I tells ya!

It seems like you know a lot more about what's happening on the social scene and about the world. It's because you've been out to see the world outside of your own country and have had more of a wealth of different kinds of experiences than me (or am I just imagining this?).......'Tis music, Joe, and bein' luni that brought us together! And I'd like to think friendship..

I'm still only 53.....two more years to go....am I in trouble???

What was the deal with Dave LaRue anyways? It did'nt seem like he was around for very long. Did he have other obligations or did he not quite fit in? Don't remember what the deal was there..

Mark.."Hammerhead" was cool...classic Beck-Ola.

McDave, that could have been the tour where Joe had another bassist in mind for the band. Pretty close to rehearsal time the guy had to back out, so Joe called Dave who just happened to be free for that time slot. I think Dave was an amazing fit with the band and it worked out really well. I still don't know which one is my favorite bassist for Joe's band. They all bring something different and are massively talented.

IbanezJoan, Joe pretty much goes balls out on The Crossroads with Steve Miller - WHOA!!! I like it like that! lol!

michelle, you're thinking of Brad Russell. He was going to play bass on the PSATMOR tour, but then something came up during rehearsals and Joe went with Stuuu as a last-minute replacement.

I guess you could say Dave LaRue "replaced" Matt Bissonette, but if you go back and read Joe's announcement from the time (Joe's post halfway down this page) it sounds like it was a planned switch (with Matt's blessing, as he left to do other stuff). I don't know if the original plan was for him to be permanent, but with the way the announcement was worded (saying he's joining for the tour) and knowing how many other bands he's involved with I never expected him to be around for long. I do love his playing, though.

I'd have to look through the liner notes to be sure, but I think Joe played all the bass parts on Super Colossal...right?

...Austin...

Hey Joe, thanks for checking out my message if you do. I've been having a lot of trouble recently with band members, and feeling like maybe they're not taking note of my lack of creative input to our songs. It's been this way for quite a while now, and only recently I attempted to confront them about the problem. They seem to insist that I do get my two cents in on a regular basis, but I can only recall ever completing like 2 or something songs since last year. Keep in mind I have thought about starting another band to get my creativeness out, despite the fact these guys have been my close friends for quite a while, going on like 6 years. Which brings me to my next question. I know, sorry. How on earth did you get to be the driving creative force behind your band? Especially back when you were my age, about 18. How did you get bandmates to do what you told them to do?? Thanks man, for looking.

Michelle - Totally agree about Dave being a good fit. He certainly looked very engaged throughout the entire show. It's funny to watch the G3 in Tokyo. Dave was playing bass for Petrucci. It looked like the 2 just had a scrap back stage. Dave totally secluded himself to one side of the stage. I wonder if he was a last minute replacement for Petrucci?

DTS - Any luck on the job front?

I just read a nice review of a recent Steve Morse show from the perspective of a drummer who was opening the show for him. Since the sound check ran late, Steve himself helped the drummer set up his gear. Steve is a classy guy.

Hello Y'all!

Thank you everyone for the support in my running.

I had my 5K run today. Despite the cold & windy temperatures, the run went great, as well as the sun being out. My time was 18 minutes & 49 seconds. Don't know my placing, but I know I finished in the top 15-20 out of about 200 plus participants. My next run is Saturday; another 5K.

After the run, I had to make a beeline to work (more reservations on Valentine's Day weekend). It went a lot smoother than last night.

Thanks again everyone. Gotta get some rest. Have a busy week ahead of me, as well as my next run.

By the way, Happy Valentine's Day everyone.

Grant
