Thanks Scubadaz. I'm not the guy singing and playing though. I'm just the other guy playing the Telecaster. 8P

Sammy Hagar was on "Celebrity Ghost Stories" tonight. He said that when he was in his 20's and just starting a family, his alcoholic father showed up at his apartment at 3 or 4 in the morning wanting to come in and talk to him. Sammy would'nt let him in and told him to come back when he sobered up. He got a phone call about an hour later from his family saying that his dad had been found dead on a park bench in San Bernadino. Sammy was in San Francisco...438 miles away. F##kin' creepy..

Creepy! but it happens way more often than anyone cares to admit.

While we're on this subject, I hosted my office's Christmas party last December, and at one point I looked out the window because I heard a car outside. Sure enough, the husband of one of my coworkers was there. Next Monday she pulls me to the side and tells me "my husband asked me who was the kid that looked out the window, right next to Jose..."

I have not slept with the lights off since...

Life is good when we can play beautiful guitar with nice technique and make it sing....

Life is bad when you can't follow the rhythm, no matter how good you are technically with your instrument.

I need help... because its sad.

Haven't seen this posted here yet....

Joe at NAMM.

He's at the Vox booth in this one, but this isn't the same vid that was posted here awhile back. Quick shot of what appears to be Joe standing next to an all Vox pedalboard about 20 seconds in. Not sure, but other than his signature pedals, kinda looks like a V847 Wah on the right and a ToneLab in the back??

Sorry to hear everyone is having such a hard time with skyroo. I was a little peeved that they didn't ship my pre-order out until the release date, but I got it on the 6th and was surprised to find that bith the DVD and CD booklets were autographed. The second one I ordered hasn't made it here yet, but I only paid for regular shipping rather than expedited. I will join the group of those who hope that maybe someday this DVD will be reissued so that we can actually watch the concert. The CD's have been playing here non-stop, but I can honestly say I will never watch the DVD again.

I think I had heard somewhere about the DVD was supposed to appeal to a wider audience, but to me it is such a radical change from what the usual audience wants that I kind of feel slapped in the face.

Anyway, I have been watching my other Joe DVD's to soothe my pain, but there is still an empty spot that only LIP will be able to fill. I want to SEE Joe play all of these songs that sound so damn good!

Ian

Apparently Football Aid has sent 3200 shirts to Haiti but the 100 Bears shirts have been returned. A spokesman for the Haitians said maybe most of our houses been demolished, we may be starving and half naked but we still have our pride!

Edit - This joke has been adapted from an English football joke, dunno if it translates well.

Scubadaz - It may indeed be a crap joke, then again it could be that Mancs have absolutely no sense of humour. It also baffles me that you see fit to lecture me on the morality of jokes when I have seen some of the filth that you have posted here and elsewhere.

Thanks for the vid Ian (turbo), gear-news is always good fer all the gear-heads around here, my son included, and I guess me by association, lol!

So chelle, did Henry survive the winter storm? I worry about him so.....if you'd just be a bit more hospitable and allow him in the house to share yer warmz, I'm sure he'd appreciate it very much!! He's lil, he doesn't take up much room, plus he's high entertainment...for yer kittehs AND us when we get another bat story!!

;-D

Joe, I can't even begin to tell you how many times Chris has raved to me about his JSX 212 amp....LORDY!! He's always excited about it, having a wonderful time playing with it and is so happy he has it!! Best thing he's ever owned, apart from his (deceased) JS1200....but he's got that on the horizon, saving up for that next!! Once he has that and gets the rest of yer pedals, I may hafta unplug my phone just to get some sleep, LOL!! We love ya, and thanks again!

JR, if yer out there reading....what's the thing that stands out most to you when you see Joe with the Chickenfoot band? ...since you've known him so long, and most of his career has been as a solo artist.....what stands out best to you, the biggest difference other than the obvious, seeing him with the guys?

Go Saints!!

mikesb, nice U.M. link.

Thanks again for the prayers for me mum. Poor bird is so sick in the stomach she's having a hard time eating. The prayers are much appreciated.

anibur, thank you for all your good wishes. Hugs & love backatcha. We're getting more snow again on Wednesday. You can have that too if ya want it. lol!

T-Bone, of course Henry survived. Hell, I doubt he even gets a chill up in my feckin attic or in my walls or wherever the heck he is! As for him being little - that's only when he's by himself. When he flys around in my house he's the size of a small pterodactyl!! Ask Scooter. lol! So glad that you enjoy my traumatic events. lol!

Ok, so I got up yesterday morning at 6 a.m., put the coffee on and took the dog out. I sat down with my headphones on and set the audio to LPCM and started the DVD. Audio was again awesome. REALLY love the audio and sound of this live disc.

Sigh.....but the video. Man. I went into this with an open mind for sure. The video was just really hard to watch. I would have to guess that 90 to 95 percent of the entire concert had special effects and color saturation and inverts and overlays. It was just a lot happening. I remember as I was watching Ghosts (which is really one of my favs on the entire new cd) I was thinking, this would be a great stand alone video. I had the feeling, to a lesser extent with Out of the Sunrise.

There's a lot to like about the DVD aside from the graphics and such. I liked some of the cut shots that were used between songs....Galen tuning his guitar and Joe getting his cable plugged in while grabbing picks off the amp. Crowd was really into it. Unfortunately for me personally I don't think I could ever sit and watch this start to finish again. I could definitely let it play in the background or without the tv on. I really like and can appreciate what the meaning of this was all about. And I have to give it up the editor....this had to have been a MASSIVE undertaking.

Unfortunately for people like me who live in a place where Joe never plays, I really like these DVD's to get the "concert experience," which was completely missed on this one. The energy was washed away with graphics.

All in all however, I gained mountains of new respect for Joe on fronts. 1.) I think it took a lot for Joe to stick to his guns on this project. Surely he knew after watching the final cut that this was such a different approach and the it would be received with a lot of mixed emotions. I can respect that and really appreciate that. 2.) After watching the interview, which was very good by the way, I really gained tremendous respect for Joe after hearing the story about him getting offered a lot of money to play with a band. It entailed him painting his face and doing things that he didn't believe in and ultimately turned down the gig and a chance to become really famous. I really love the fact that integrity was chosen over a payday. It's not just music and talent that puts Joe a notch above any other rocker out there...IMO.

Overall I'm glad I have the DVD and it was well worth the 14.99 I paid and the extra 40 some odd miles I had to drive to get it. My hopes will be that in a year or 5 years or 10 years...an anniversary edition of this concert will be done as just a plain concert video without the effects.
