My husband is self employed and he pays a fortune, as will I when I am laid off. I don't hear much about how to cut health care costs. The rising costs are the problem and the way it is structured so that those who have insurance or private pay are forced to pay for those who can't (or won't). I see far too many illegal aliens headed to our local hospital at 5 for their free "emergency" care. I think lawsuits and insurance companies are adding to the costs. From what I hear of the current bill, these problems are not solved. This is just another tax.

Smells like bullshit no matter how you slice it. Are we more damned if we do, or more damned if we don't? I have friends who work for small companies, and they don't have to offer their employees insurance. They work full time and have no health ins. Personally, I think the insurance companies are the #1 problem in America. They are the ones that need a foot up their bums!

I want the Congress and the Senate on the plan they approve for us. Notice how that is not on the table and that we pay for them and their families? They have not been serving us well.

I received my confirmation to attend the workshop on Monday at Sweetwater. I was congratulated by registering early and I got a seat in the performance theatre to watch Joe live. SWEET!!
However, Joe was intended to sign autographs, shake hands, and take pictures, but with the tour schedule (Hendrix Experience), he can't do it. On a positive note, he agreed to play more than he normally would for us and extend the Q&A portion of his workshop.
2 out of 3 ain't bad, don't you think?

Glitzman- What a positive attitude you have ! I know you where looking forward to having Joe sign your stuff.....Kudo's for being so understanding...
It does seem that Joe is on a tight schedule, hope not too hectic. Is it me or does recent media portray a rather slimmer Joe? Although he was slim to begin with. lol.

Thanks Peace and Skip. After Joe performs here on Monday, he's got to head to Akron, Ohio for another Hendrix Experience.
Speaking of slim, I'm getting a little slim myself. I'm at the edge of 150.

Castle - great point about the health care. Not one of them is willing to go on the plan they are approving. Kind of makes you wonder. I would love to see all 2700 pages put out on the internet and let all of us decide wether it's a good bill or not.
As with so many administrations before this one, they seem to be going about this health care issue ass end first. There is no question health care needs an overhaul in this country. But start at the root of the problem and work your way out from there. Insurance companies are the end of the problem, not the start. Looking over some of my families medical bills from last year, I see that each night in the hospital for my wife last year was 12k per night!! REALLY???? 12 THOUSAND DOLLARS for a 10 x 10 room for 1 night? And when you talk about the nicest buildings in your city, there's usually a hospital right there in the mix. Does the lobby have to have the most expensive marble floor they could find? Or 50 foot high glass windows? Who give a sh*t. Spend half the money and lower the costs. A trip to your family doc costs 100. 75 or 80 paid by insurance and the other 20 or 25 paid by the patient. The average person in America spends 7 minutes face to face with their doctor now. That means a doc is charging every patient 700 dollars per hour. REALLY?????? I think you can see my point. If we are going to get to the heart of the health care problems...start at your local hospital and your local doctor and work it from there. Drug companies next. Torte reform next. Fraud and abuse next. Once all that is put in check and an insurance company doesn't have to pay 12k per night for a hospital room....then perhaps premiums will come down on their own. And if they don't, then they become the final stop on the health care train.

Well we all know that Joe is pretty good with his gits but for me only Hendrix does Hendrix. Cover versions to me just don't sound quite right no matter how good the playing is. Having said that I hope you who are going enjoy the Experience shows, and i'm not a misguided Hendrix fan, his music (although there are exceptions) generally doesn't do it for me but I feel he was unique.
