Peace Lily - thanks for remembering & including me! :)
satrinicious, nice choice in songs.... especially SOULS OF DISTORTION (where I got the inspiration for my forum nickname) hehe
Glitz Man how's it going??? Pretty cool that you are visible in the front row of the Sweetwater videos - with the fashion going on there hehe :)
axeshredder, I agree with you about PSATMOR and how it gets better with age.. Live in Paris provides a nice spin on those tunes too IMO The kids & I were watching some of the podcasts from that tour again... great stuff
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Today was a" Made Of Tears" day...... every thing made me sad.......the earth quake in China ......... the sudden death of a neighbor.........my pop having to have more surgery to remove more cancer........ Hard to stay positive sometimes....... The music helps though ...truly does ...Tomorrow's another day..... maybe it will be a brighter one for all of us..............
DistortedSoul- I too love those podcasts.......Joe 'n Jeff 'n crew R so funny.......I totally agree with the PSATMOR discussion & I love the LIP versions.....
Axeshredder- I am very sorry to hear of your health scare...diabetes is a seriously scary disease. I hope you will be able to control it with your diet. Its not something I would wish on any one.....best of luck to you.

I saw Them Crooked Vultures in concert tonight. If anyone has the chance to see them, you must! They were excellent.
John Paul Jones is amazing...he played a million different instruments:
- four-, eight-, 10- and 12-string basses
- lapsteel guitar (a lapsteel built into an actual guitar, with a strap and everything)
- mandolin
- violin
- keytar
- keyboard (with bass pedals)
It was amazing watching him change from instrument to instrument between songs. He had a huge smile on his face the whole night, too.
I've now seen half of Led Zeppelin (I saw Jimmy Page and the Black Crowes in 1999). Hopefully I'll get to see Jason Bonham with Black Country (er, whatever their new name will be) later this year.

Pee Silly, can today then, be a day of smiles and happiness?
My daughter is now 30 weeks pregnant with my first grandson and I am slowly but surely starting to uncross things. He's gonna be a rock fan, when other types of music are on he's fairly quiet but when we put some Led Zep, Purple or Joe on he starts dancing. It's hilarious because it's very uncomfortable for my daughter but on the other hand she is so rapt that she's managed to keep him inside this long after all her previous problems.

Peace, sorry to hear about your dad and neighbor...sometimes trying to stay positive is a lotta work just by itself. I hope all goes well for him, and you find something to smile about today.
Cappy, that's excellent news about your daughter and grandbaby-to-be :) I predict the crusty ole sailor is gonna turn to complete mush at first site of the baby, and you'll never look back, lol!!! Rock indeed, it's never too early to start bringin em up right!!
Blue buffalo/Freddy.....sorry to hear you are both still struggling like that, I was hopeful things had gotten better by now....still hopeful for you and your family but as you say, it's out of your hands and what will be, will be. Hugs to you both.
Nice to know yer still out there kickin and causing trouble like usual Mr. Pippy :)) Nice vids too!! As for the last webcast...ermmm....which one was that? I can't remember if it was Joe or a Chickenfoot...but unless I was in a coma, I was likely watching it :) I hope the CF webcast coming up is accessible, I never know with my computer *skills* if I can get things or not, or how to fix it so I can.
It's my Friday today, since we have mandatory closure tomorrow for state-wide budget cuts. Chrispy coming home tonight, brother off fishing all weekend, so we can CRANK IT UP!!! woo hoo!!

@Peace Lily- that's strange. Made Of Tears was stuck in my head almost all day yesterday. When I'm at school Joe's songs randomly occupy my mind every day. Sometimes its just one song and sometimes it's several. Made Of Tears was half of the day, then Rubina was stuck in my head until I fell asleep.

Hey!
Have any of you heard my new instrumental For A Friend, yet? If yes, what do you think about it?
I really need some critics and stuff about it.
I want to know what people think of it. So please help me by telling your true opinion about my instrumental!
Have a great time!

Cappy Steve- Yes today can be a day of smiles and happiness ! It made me smile to read that your daughter is doing well with her pregnancy and your grandson is a rock fan. Being a grandparent is one of the most joyous experiences in life...... its like falling in love only better. When I saw my grand child for the first time I thought my heart would just break open from all the pure love that filled it. :-)
All the best to you and your family!
Cheese- The situation with my dad won't end well unfortunately...I just hate to see him go thru so much pain. Thanx for the good wishes though!
BlueBuffalo- Good vibes sent for you and yours..... Your faith is very encouraging. May it continue to sustain you .
Railton- I am sorry I did not comment.... I listened to your song , I enjoyed it very much. Keep up the good work.
Read that the Iceland volcano is wreaking havoc on air travel for much of Europe...... Bad deal and bad deal for Iceland too ...wish some good vibes could fix that!

I have a question. I have been playing for a little over five years and want to start to study theory. I do not know where to start. I learn very fast so even if the difficult stuff is first i will be able to learn it. what do you think, where should i start?

Alan--Since the air is full of volcanic ash, may be a good day to wear a breathing mask or stay indoors.....
What ya said about "sweet cans"...I guess bras are can hammocks?? I guess some guys have banana hammocks.....wouldn't mind resting next to a banana hammock or in one. LMAO!
:-/ I'm in a goofy mood today......Must be all the earthquakes and volcanic eruptions around the world! And in my head...

So it turns out I have an extra ticket to Saturday's Transatlantic show in Downey. Transatlantic is a proggy Mike Portnoy project with Neal Morse, Roine Stolt, and Pete Trewavas.
The ticket is third row center and I paid $73.75...anyone interested?

Ha! Al says something similar every time I post something about a show on Facebook.
I doubt (m)any of my friends know he's in Ireland, so they probably think we go to concerts together all the time...
