Who has seen Joe at the in-store appearances yet? Did he play any songs while he was there?

Joe kinda wrote melodies for red house and has alot to say ! so thats why i was bummed and felt he had an ego because he cut the best fucking guitar player in the world off!

I've played with a few people who needed to have the cord yanked out of their guitar.

Did I mention that I finally scored a job? Looks like I'm back in the home construction biz. Starting at $13/hr...may not seem like much but it's better than nothin'..

JesseKennemer - This isn't a Satch tour. It's a Hendrix tribute tour, and Satch is one of many guitarists on the bill.

I see you're in Oregon, so probably not, but did you happen to catch a show on the PSATMOR tour with Mountain opening? Joe and Leslie West jammed just about every night...Joe is quite happy to sit back and play rhythm guitar when he's onstage with his favorite guitarists.

And Red House is hardly Joe's song. Yes, it was on the 1997 G3 album, but Aerosmith has been playing that song live dating back to the 1970s. Heck, Brad has probably been playing that song longer than Joe has been playing guitar.

Maybe you only wanted to hear Joe, but Brad isn't a bad guitarist by any means. Check out this instrumental.

I don't mean to sound argumentative, but I love Aerosmith and there are a lot of people out there who just don't realize what Brad is capable of.

...Austin...

Hey, congrats Dave on yer new job, such tough times, just about anything is welcome, so go forth and prosper, lol! As to yer metal detecting hobby, I’m totally jealous!! If I’m ever in yer neck of the woods, can we go out hunting fer buried treasure? Lol!

Peace Lily, thanks for all the recent vids, so cool….and nice to see them since at my show I’d be really surprised if any vids or pics ever surface, security was really tight!

Chris finally watched the video of Joe introducing his JS2400 in white….I’ve been trying to convince him to consider it since he’s saving up for the 1200….and now he’s so completely torn, lol!! He’s in love with BOTH guitars so who knows which one he’ll go for!

Well, a few days later I’m gonna try to make sense of the Experience Hendrix show…I’m not the best reporter of these kind of events cuz I don’t always know the music, or the players, and don’t have a “players ear” for the music like my son and other musicians do…but gad DAMN that was a good time!!

I mostly like the way the show was crafted….it felt as though (with one exception) that each performer took the stage and managed to amp up the excitement level more and more. Started out kinda mellow and groovin, and kept building from there. I gotta say, Living Color was a total kick ass HOOT, lol!! SSSooooooooo much energy, dancing, can’t believe the singer can hit those damn high notes like that and they were all so engaging with the crowd. They give a great show!

Eric Johnson was a delight, though he was pretty mellow in his song choices but damn that man can PLAY!! And on it went with each performer, you could feel the crowd getting more and more excited and into it with every change-over. And lemme just say, they were so FAST in between performers. All the gear was set up on stage before the show, so basically all they had to do was unhook one player, turn on the pedal board of the next player, hook em up and away they went….like no time at all between sets!!

Kenny Wayne was just so fantastic, dat boy can PLAY!! I say boy cuz….he’s like a baby next to me, lol!! His singer is incredible too.

About the only thing I’d maybe change about the night is where they had the Los Lobos guys play. They performed right before Joe came out, and they were very good…but very mellow, laid-back and not high-energy. So with the crowd amping up till then, we kinda all amped back down at that point. Enjoyed them very much, but I think they shoulda played earlier in the night.

And finally, out came Joe. Third Stone From the Sun was totally “outta this world”, Joe had a lotta fun tweakin his pedals fer some really sonic and strange sounds that fit perfectly. Foxey Lady was excellent as you would expect, and All Along the Watchtower…Chris wanted to get his guitar and immediately start working on that one, lol!! Great job Joe!

Then the encore…as I said before, security was really tight that night, they actually escorted a guy out of the show in order to confiscate his camera since he tried a second time to sneak a pic. But it was good too, cuz they also kept the eegits from standing in front of people and blocking views. At the encore, they finally relented and let the crowd come to the stage, so I grabbed Chris and down we went, center stage, just a bit away from where Joe was. It was so cool of Joe to wave when he spotted us, and then make his way to shake our hands after the final bow…Joe, you might not realize, but something like that just totally makes Chris’s whole year…and because of his happiness, it makes mine too :)

After all of that, one of the players used a tshirt to wipe the sweat offa his face, and handed it to me as a….souvenir? LOL!!! And we caught a pick and shook hands with the singer from Living Color, and a coupla other guys, I lost track :D

All in all, we had a great trip…Chris wanted so badly to hang out by the buses to try to catch Joe so he could tell him something privately, but I think the wind was blowing about a million miles an hour outside, the temperature had to be at a thousand below zero, we had no coats on…..but mom dutifully stood out there with him till he couldn’t stand it anymore. We were the only fans standing out there, the rest had some brains, LOL!! And never did see any players go to the buses….but we tried. I was turning blue so we finally went back inside.

And I managed to take Chris to gamble on the nickel slot machines (a whole $5 worth) and got him a pina colada with whipped cream and a cherry…they checked his ID in the casino twice which he loved, LOL!!! So yeah, bringin the boy up right :D

He could hardly wait to get home on Sunday to his guitar to try all the stuff he saw the players doing. It’s always so inspiring to him to see live performances.

Thanks for the tweet too Joe, on our way home Saturday. Chris does the phone stuff while I’m driving, so he got to see it first and was like “OH YEAH, IT’S FROM JOE!!” and then promptly forwarded it to his own phone so he can have it to read over any time, lol!

Great show guys, see it if you can! Sorry for the long post, I’ll shaddap now!!
