I guess yesterday was census day. We got ours too. I wonder if I would get in trouble for sending it back and asking them to resend me a copy in German? LOL.

McDave - Congrats on your job....and yes you're correct. 13 an hour is definitely better than 0 an hour. It puts food on your table pays some bills. Can't ask for much more than that.

Cheese- Thanx for your review ...I could almost picture the experience from your words.........sounds like an awesome time was had by all. Its really cool how you and your son enjoy the same music and artist! That Joe is just a marvel isn't he ? Waves and handshakes and a tweet!

I bet it takes a couple of days to get your feet back on the ground after being on" cloud nine"......LOL

The Santa Barbara show was totally loose. Almost no security once the playing started. We were remarking how much better we liked the Arlington than the Santa Barbara Bowl where we go through a metal detector they thrash through my purse and pat us down before we even get in. Then inside Mission Security are a bunch of goons. No dancing in the aisle, lighting anything etc. Sort of takes the fun out of a show to have a flashlights scanning the rows for "violations".

McDave - Congrats on the job! Sorry...I missed your post earlier.

cheese101 - Thanks for your review. :-)

I have the same feeling about Los Lobos. I'm glad they're on the tour because I can tell they really do love Jimi Hendrix and his music, and that comes across well in their performance. But it's lacking something that some of the other musicians have, and I can't quite figure out what it is. The crowd seems to like them well enough down here (both on this tour and when I saw EH in 2008), but then again they are from East LA.

hybes - "I wonder if I would get in trouble for sending it back and asking them to resend me a copy in German?"

Haha! Don't you dare! ;-)

castle49 - Security at the Universal City show was pretty lax as well. They let you bring cameras in as long as they weren't professional ones. I wish I would have known that ahead of time...I could have gotten some halfway decent pictures.

...Austin...

Since Los Lobos had to play after KWS there was bound to be a slight deflation. Everyone around us was saying "wouldn't want to follow that".

Austin - Have you ever been to the Santa Barbara Bowl? Not that far from you. It is beautiful setting only 4000 and some seats with an ocean view from the "worst" seats. Actually not a bad seat in the house. They have some good shows. DMB has played there a number of times.

Well Skippy, funnily enough, Chris and I were just talking this weekend about how he would love to take a trip to Australia with me, as it's part of his heritage (my mum is full Aussie :) and of course he wants to coordinate it with a Joe-tour down under, LOL!! I tole him to save up some monies fer his plane ticket, and we're there!! So ya never know!

Roo came all this way, so we can go all that way, lol!!

Thanks peeps, I'm not much of a writer, but I do so love our Joe-shows and concert trips :) I gets giddy, LOL!!

Peace....yeah, it's prolly kinda strange that my son and I like the same music, LOL.....he got into Joe first and I was a reluctant convert....until the first time I saw Joe live, then that was IT! He was so cool and amazing, even broke a string and we dint notice until he said something after the song was over, he's just that good! We came home from that show, I started researching Joe to see what kind of a person my son was idolizing....never looked back since :)

From there, we also both enjoy Dream Theater, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, Eric Johnson, Evanescence, Nickelback, Paramour, Godsmack (thanks chelle, lol!) TSO, and geez there's lots others. His musical tastes are much broader than mine, but he's always bringing me something new to listen to...some I like, some I don't. As I tell him, we don't have to like EVERYTHING the same :)

But Joe.....is at the top of both our lists, always. And always will be :)

Castle, could be but TBH I don't really care. I try not to judge (don't always succeed) but there's also an underlying wry chuckle for me. I won't go into it in public (unless a certain person pushes). I don't know how many (if any) folk on here have your details (only three have mine), I suspect you are rather private so we'll just have to leave it at that for the time being.

Cheese- My son is growing to appreciate Joes music..... we were listening to Joes songs in the car & he told me that Joes songs form a picture in his mind and proceeded to tell me what he envisioned and that its like Joes guitar is speaking words with the notes.so I think he gets it ( a bit )and he does ask me to put songs on his I-pod. My family knows I am just crazy mad for Joe's music . :-)

Edit- I don't thinks its strange at all that you have some of the same tastes ..........I think its special you can share those times.........good memories .

I think Los Lobos might have been missing a bit of an audience connection Austin....that's what it felt like to me anyway....the bass player, I think it was? He tends to stand there, eyes closed and no facial expression hardly at all through an entire song...he barely moves anything except his arms and hands...the singer/guitar player did a bit better with that but still didn't really connect with the audience. They were really good, but that's what I was missing from them It's prolly just me though :)

Cappy and Castle, yer being very cryptic and mysterious, orrr I've missed something yet again, which is prolly more the truth since I'm weetawded half the time, lol!

Glitz, ya just never know, peeps from here meet up all the time :)

On security...I go both ways. I kinda appreciate (especially in the shows right after what happened to Dimebag) the security measures going into a venue, the purse checking, metal detectors, etc. I wouldn't ever want anything happening to another performer so I like it when they are careful. But, once inside, what's the freakin big deal with taking pictures? THEN is when I have some problems with security peeps who seem to be on power trips. I suppose each artist says what they want or don't want, but some places seem to carry it to the extreme. And then you have the places where there's NEVER any security to help keep the rowdies under control. Just a coupla idiots can ruin a show for everyone around them if allowed. Guess it's never perfect eh?

The guys in Reno did good on the rowdy side of things, that was pretty nice. Oh, and I almost fergot, once they let peeps up to the stage, they dint care then if you took pics. But by then, we were having such a great time, we totally fergot about our cameras, lol!! geez! But it was also great to just relax and enjoy the show without worrying about pics and video for a change.
