Hi Joe, Just bought your new DVD live in Paris. After reading your comments about your European tour and the recording of this new and exciting live performance from Paris in the last April 2010 edition of Guitar World magazine, I could'nt resist buying this new DVD. I've got almost all the live performances you brought on the market and I knew I was getting in something fresh and up to your expectations since you mentionned in the magazine and I quote : "You know, we did'nt go out and film 20 shows and edit them together and pick the best takes of each song. It was one night-boom! I was telling myself backstage, Joe you'd better be good tonight' cause the cameras are rolling. And the great thingis, luck was on my side that night. Once in a while on every tour you get those golden moments when it just seems that everything is right: your amp feedback is perfect, your performance of a particular song is the best it's ever been, the band rocks harder then ever...That night in Paris was one of those nights." And when you talked about that visually speaking Gunther Kutsch pulled it off, I said WOW! this must be a hell of show. You are right, the performance is just out of this world. The sound, the whole energy of the band and the genius of your song writing are captured for ever. Joe you are a wonderful soul and your music is the most precious creation. You master your Art. The only thing that bothers me most of this DVD is that the first time I viewed and listened to it, after one song and a half I could'nt stand the video effects prowess. I want to see you and your band like I'm sitting front row. Seeing your face moving on each glimpse of emotions and especially since this night was a golden moment like you said, it's really not my cup of tea. The editing is like a clip on Mtv and the video effects are just to much. Not that is a bad production, in fact the video effects and all the editing are a masterpiece but I thought it's unsuited for your performance and it makes the DVD a real pain in the eyes to look at while listening to the greatest instrumental rock of this 21st century. It's my opinion. Keep on the great work. André.

As was pointed out earlier, there is a nice interview with Joe in this month's issue of GW. 6 or 7 pages I think. Its probably on the internet somewhere, I've just had no luck finding it. Joe made a neat comment about returning to the solo act after touring with CF and having to go back and listen to FIABD and kind of 're-learn' it before the Jan. 31st show he did, and that switching back to smaller strings were throwing him off a bit. I'll shut up before I end up posting the whole damned interview! He also appears on the CD to show you how to 'play like Hendrix'. I'm about to watch that right now.

It was also nice to see that Jimi's 'new' album has cracked the top 5, his 3rd album to do so since his death. I was surprised to see that there have been 34 Hendrix albums released since he died; such a shame his career was so short. There is also an interesting write up about Valleys of Neptune and Jimi in GW on the pages right before Joe's interview, which is titled "Hey Joe"....

There was also a small interview with Michael Anthony, but he didn't really talk about anything we haven't seen or heard before. Kind of seemed like it was just there to take up some space on the page. Nice to know he is still being sought out during CF's downtime, though.

Ian

Hey there little man, how'd my name get caught up in yer rant. I thought you said you were ignoring me! Please continue to do that. I have a very low tolerance for A-holes, so like...never is a good day for you in my book.

And FYI -

" so many sit back and watch me get attacked when all i do is come in here and share the cool Joe related stuff i find. not my personal issues...not the sickness and death that's in my family"

That is why IMO you'll never be part of the family this place has. We CARE about each other, SUPPORT one another, and we CELEBRATE the good and MOURN the bad, as well as share a love for all things Satriani. You are just here for you, and that's the reason you'll always be on the outside with yer little man nose pushed up against the window looking in. We ARE a family. If you don't like the discussions we have here, get t' steppin'!

Now I know you're still ignoring me, so I really hope you don't break that promise with some lame ass name calling reply, telling me to get back in the kitchen, go shopping, do my nails, oh yeah, and go on a diet. lmao! The sad part is, I can always lose weight, but you'll always be a douche.

peace out homey!

JOE--Me thinks that at any moment you or Webmaster Jon are going to interrupt this arguing with something enlightening......I can hope.

jdublu----It was 85 degrees F (about 30 degrees C) in San Jose area today. Hot for March! Thanks for your thoughts about healthcare reform for the USA. The people's money should pay for something worthwhile. Sigh!

Michelle--Are we better off with healthcare reform or without? Thanks for your opinion. I'm prayin' to keep myself calm no matter what happens......I guess I've invested a lot of my time and energy to see the thing pass. I get the feeling if it doesn't pass, we're screwed!

Blue_Mooooooon----Al, I'm glad yer enjoyin' your lovely red guitar friend......How can ya live in Ireland and not enjoy hearing Chieftains music??? Fun times, man....fun times.

Glitzman--Your cheerful posts brighten my day. If I exercised and dieted the way you do, I would have to feel better about myself. I just need to get off my arse!

Campbell--do you and jdublu know each other being residents of the great country of Scotland? Funny that story about the idiot and his goldfish!

dream3--Please do share about your wonderful life!

Uncle roy--Thanks for your encouragement about the health care reform in the USA. Part of me wants to leave the US for Ireland or the UK or Spain or Canada......and yet part of me wants to stay....I have friends and relatives here in Cali and besides....Joe lives a little less than an hour away by car. Life is never easy.....tell me about it!

OK... well here's the quick version... Decided on Tuesday to go to Thursday night Experience Hendrix in Chicago. Had high expectations, and all I can say is WOW. The show was phenomenal (will post review under "Road" section later). Three solid hours of I can't even put it into words! Joe playing "All Along the Watchtower" was even better than I could have imagined. After the show I somehow managed to meet Eric Johnson, Noah Hunt, Mike Manning, and most importantly JOE! Eric & Joe both signed autographs, Eric gave me a pick for my son, and Mike gave me a CF Joe pick. All were class acts.
My 6 yr old son who plays guitar was honked I didn't take him this time... :( (He's been to see Joe in '08 and Chickenfoot in '09)
Can't wait for the in-store appearance on Monday at Sweetwater in Ft. Wayne. Grant, are you still going and did you already register w/ Sweetwater?

JOE - Thanks so much for all you've done, being part of 2010 Exp Hendrix, and taking time to meet me and sign autographs. Can't say I said anything profound, but maybe next time. :)
...my head is still spinning like an old rotary cabinet...Chicago, can I get a witness????

Peace Lily - np. Yeah I went into the show already 1000% stoked and ready to see JOE, Living Colour, Ernie Isley, Eric Johnson, Robert Randolph, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, and Billy Cox! Anyone I didn't mention ended up being great as well. I am loving the blue JS single coil prototype with the maple fretboard Joe is playing too.

Joe, please please please release it for production so I can get one and put it next to my JS1000bp! It was blinding me during the concert and I was loving it. :)

to the two asses- this isnt your site...get a blog or something..because the only freaks are you too...this is Joe satriani website..please.not interested in your supporting caring bull so you can be praised..gimme a break..you need a social life both of you...i have the same rights as all here...its both of you that think you own this place and i could make a list of people whom youve forced out of here...so screw you with your weak little words because you wouldnt have the balls to speak to me that way if i was in the same room with you. you both look like the biggest assholes ive ever met on the net...and if ever in person...well..i surely owe you guys something. so bring it on...call me some more names..tell every why i should be removed from this site...clearly thats your intentions here...speak up

Is my design of the Js guitar troubling to you?

maybe because i have front row tickets for every show lately?

Maybe you dont like when i post cool stuff about Chickenfoot?

Or that all my posts are directed to Joe not You...sorry ...its his site?

Or that i ignore you constant posting of things non Joe related by both of you?

Not here for any other reason except the few friends ive made leaving posts here for Joe?

please tell me you reasons and i will leave.....maybe

the relentless abuse i recieve here is clearly a warrant to have both of you removed...but that doesnt really happen here....so grow the fuck up and shut the fuck up....and to the rest of you who sit back and watch this shit...screw you too.

you know...these losers draw me into this bullshit ...i would never speak like this..i would never treat any person with such disrespect for no apparent reason as i have here...and want no part of it...im leaving this site of misfits. you all dont have any balls or what...even sir Loin has to hide...fuck that and screw you Michelle ..you rag...and Allan kissin your ass attacking me....fuck that..this bitch can mark off another member.

Joe Satriani.....sorry but as your biggest fan on the east coast..your members here pick and choose whos accepted....no reflection on you thats for sure. But Michelle and Alan are fake people. They arent the caring folks ive been associating for years from all over the world and sharing the useful information youve been sharing with us. thanks to the many outlets you can be reached, i know how to talk to Joe..:)..take care bro..see ya thursday...and friday..:)

Ethn...Sad to read that coming from another great player, especially one i admired so much as a kid

I remember 88 being a particulary fond year to Joe bash, for some reason the guitar instrumental wave from the states really got up the nose of the blues police back home who i remember didnt seem to have anything better to do than turn up at my inst gigs & flame everything i played.Satch tracks were bad enough Gambale satanic but your own work....choose yer cross!

The people enjoyed it because it was something new, but i,ve never played inst guitar stuff to an audience since for more than 10mins because of the hatemoungering, it was bar open but closed doors. Now we.re out the dark ages, instrumental guitar music is accepted worldwide but to see Mr Moore,s head still stuck in that time frame...i feel great sadness

Regarding Gary Moore-I didn't care if he didn't like Joe, but it was annoying that he went out of his way to comment. In the interviews I read he wasn't asked about Joe, he just started complaining about Joe playing to many notes or whatever. No class.

Everyone, this forum is what we make it. There have never been any rules here...we can't tell others what they can and can't talk about, but we can be proactive and steer conversations in certain directions or start new discussions entirely.

It's easy to skip posts that don't interest you. If you find yourself skipping the majority of the posts, instead of complaining about it or even staying quiet why not ask a question or start a conversation about something you like?

There are a few people posting here who I've met 10 years ago, and we've become friends and concert buddies. There are other people here who I've never met, and we talk more about other bands/sports/hobbies/whatever than we do about Satch. And there are the newbies who answer my questions about their favorite Satch songs but then never come back to the site. ;-)

I talk about different things with each different type of person, and none of it is off-topic here. And I think that's what makes T2J really cool.

...Austin...

Ethn:imo Moore sided with the blues police "who love complaining about 2 many notes" i think in partial, because he realized he sucked so bad by comparison at time young guitar YJM Joe Vai rising behind him, felt threatened and scurried back into the shell of his little blues bubble, which i also happen to love...end o day its an ego thing

Austin...totally...its what makes this forum enjoyable, wonder how Cuth is these days n okinawamike, was thinkin about those guys earlier this morn
