Hi, Joe! I'm probably your youngest fan. I'm twelve, by the way. I'd like to say that your the most amazing guitar player ever! My Dad and I are inspired by you. I love all your songs and I'm learning "Just like lightnin'" on acoustic guitar. I'm not that good though, any helpful tips?

michelle - That's an awesome video...thanks for sharing it. Joe is so shy, hiding behind that big acoustic guitar like that! ;-)

bluebuffalo - Ah, you got NOTE as well? That's awesome, then.

The show opening as you describe it is what we got on the opening night of the EOC tour in Sacramento, except the song was Time. That was my first Satch show, and man was it awesome. Stuuu played Linus And Lucy during his solo, too.

Listening to: Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds - Live At Radio City, 04-20-2007 (current song: Out Of My Hands)

Hello Joe Saw your "I just wanna rock" consert in Denmark-08. Since then I have been waiting for the "Live in Paris" DVD, from the concert you had a few days before. I was VERY disapointed when I watched it. Way to much effects and strange colors. The atmosphere you create live, and the memories from the concert was gone. How about a no-fx "Live in Paris" version for the fans sometimes in the future?

Here is the Washington Post's Mensa Invitational which once again asked readers to take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or changing one letter, and supply a new definition. Here are the winners:

1. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the subject financially impotent for an indefinite period of time.

2. Ignoranus: A person who's both stupid and an a**hole.

3. Intaxicaton: Euphoria at getting a tax refund, which lasts until you realize it was your money to start with.

4. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.

5. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows little sign of breaking down in the near future.

6. Foreploy: Any misrepresentation about yourself for the purpose of getting laid.

7. Giraffiti: Vandalism spray-painted very, very high

8. Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person who doesn't get it.

9. Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when you are running late.

10. Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)

11. Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's like, a serious bummer.

12. Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day consuming only things that are good for you.

13. Glibido: All talk and no action.

14. Dopeler Effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when they come at you rapidly.

15. Arachnoleptic Fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after you've accidentally walked through a spider web.

16. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito, that gets into your bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.

17. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a worm in the fruit you're eating.

The Washington Post has also published the winning submissions to its yearly contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternate meanings for common words.

And the winners are:

1. Coffee (n.): The person upon whom one coughs.

2. Flabbergasted (adj.): Appalled by discovering how much weight one has gained.

3. Abdicate (v.): To give up all hope of ever having a flat stomach.

4. Esplanade (v.): To attempt an explanation while drunk.

5. Willy-nilly (adj.): Impotent.

6. Negligent (adj.): Absentmindedly answering the door when wearing only a nightgown.

7. Lymph (v.): To walk with a lisp.

8. Gargoyle (n.): Olive-flavored mouthwash.

9. Flatulence (n.): Emergency vehicle that picks up someone who has been run over by a steamroller.

10. Balderdash (n.): A rapidly receding hairline.

11. Testicle (n.): A humorous question on an exam.

12. Rectitude (n.): The formal, dignified bearing adopted by proctologists.

13. Pokemon (n.): A Rastafarian proctologist.

14. Oyster (n.): A person who sprinkles his conversation with Yiddishisms.

15. Frisbeetarianism (n.): The belief that, after death, the soul flies up onto the roof and gets stuck there.

16. Circumvent (n.): An opening in the front of boxer shorts worn by Jewish men.

HELLO EVERYBODY!

Hope y'all are doing well. We had a busy weekend at the hotel/restaurant (sold out Wednesday through Saturday). BTW, my work schedule there flipped-flopped again so now I work mornings (mostly). I also sold a couple of guitar/amp stands at the guitar store last Thursday so that was cool.

Earlier this week, I listened to ITLIS three times (including Dog With Crown & Earring), and the G3 in Tokyo twice. Feels good to listen to some Joe and some Vai & Petrucci. Next up for me will be Super Colossal.

Busy week for me. Later today, I have a 5K Run/Race. This will be a training/tune-up run before the Indy-Mini this Saturday. I'm looking forward for a two day weekend at Indianapolis on Friday into Saturday. I'm also using the Indy-Mini as a training run for the Sunburst Marathon in June, which is held in South Bend, IN. However, after the run, it's back to Fort Wayne for a couple of banquet functions (two weddings Saturday night), plus set-up for the Mother's Day Buffet that following Sunday, which I'm also working. It's pretty much mandatory for me on Saturday & Sunday.

Axeshredder, Distorted Soul, McDave, Dream3, Skippygirl, The HawkGuy, Do The Stu, GoldenGirl2, Keniko, Elpp, Burly, Peace Lily, Cheese101, Michelle, Blue_Moon, Zinc Master, Don1963, Bluebuffalo, Satriella, Mikesb, Railton, Cappy Steve, Scubadaz, Roo, & Everyone:

Hope things are going well with you, the family, jobs, guitar playing, etc. Speaking of guitar playing, I'm thinking about getting into it, as well as getting back into some singing (getting my singing voice back). Not sure though, due to my running schedules + work.

Joe: Good to see some blue from you.

TTYL everyone, the race is approaching. I'll let you know how I did afterwards, and maybe I'll be in the chat room if anyone wants to join. See ya!

Grant

Back from the 5K run. Time was 18 minutes & 41 seconds. 2nd in the Age Division, and 6th place overall out of about 300+ people. Now that's out of the way, the Indy-Mini is right around the corner (Saturday).

Hope everyone is having a good one.

Thanks Skippy for the praise.

That's because back in your day T-Rex ruled the earth, and cavemen they tied leopard skins around their ample girth.

Drums may well have made a bow but nothing more advanced, As drunken grunting neanderthals around the campfires danced.

I'm not saying you're a caveman though wouldn't want you in a rage, But it must be said you now have reached a really ripe old age.

Morning Satchland ...its such a beautiful Monday out & about....NOT!!!

The Weather- ~Cloudy late in the morning then becoming partly cloudy. Isolated showers. Areas of blowing dust. Visibility less than one mile at Times. Very windy. Highs 57 to 62. Southwest wind 25 to 35 mph increasing to west 35 to 45 mph in the afternoon. Gusts around 60 mph. Chance of precipitation 20 percent.~

It's flippin ugly out .........the wind has blown for a week straight . Blessings are we have no serious tornado's~ earthquakes ~oil leaks in our part of the US, but the wind whistlin thru the eaves is making me crazy (er) :-)

So I wonder if the Best Buy site has a mistake on the Chickenfoot release. they are listing the DVD and the Blue Ray for 11.99. That would be a great deal for the DVD and it's a really great deal for the Blue Ray.
