turbo236: Just got home and found Joe Bonamassa's Black Rock in my mailbox. On song #2 right now. Gotta agree with what you said about track 1(except I'm gonna push on thru with the rest of the songs). I'm sure this CD will get A LOT of playing time with me for a while.

Joe: Hope you're doing better.

Roo: Andrew, by the way, do you think it is possible to get some of those Pokémaker cards you made? If so, I would like some cards with Joe on it. Also, any luck on finding another copy of Joe's very first album: The Joe Satriani EP? If so, I would like to try to get a copy.

Webmaster: Jon, anymore news/updates on what is happening?

Austin, Michelle, Tracie, Andrew, Rick, Dave, Ian, Aron, Axeshredderjc, Skippygirl, Peace Lily, Pip55, Mark, Alan, and everyone:

5K Saturday morning (5K Kilt Run). Wish me luck and I'll be one of the many to wear a kilt in this run. If I ever win (that means 1st place overall, out of everybody), I'll do a jig to the fans. Let's see how this run goes. You can find more about this run on Facebook. Wish me luck everyone.

Grant

I just watched the "I Believe" music video, and kinda forgot how much I absolutely love that song. I keep listening to it over and over again because there are so many emotions hidden inside it. There is happiness and hopefullness in the refrain, but mystery and emptiness in the verses and the first ghostly solo. Then in the last solo you get an overwhelming feeling of happiness and almost a feeling of freedom. Yet, you watching the car drive away almost makes feel a little sad for some reason. I just love all of the emotion.

But, it got me wondering......

What dream did you believe in, Joe?

TheHawkGuy....very cool site..thanks.

I found my first coin last night..a '72 penny..lol. Theres so much crap buried in my own yard that I could be here for a year digging it all up..nails, wire, chunks of melted iron.. The penny was about 5 inches down...pretty fun unit...I'm addicted.

McDave- I used to have a metal detector when I was a kid and found all kinds of things. One of the most unusual pieces I found was a rock of some sort. the metal detector picked it up, I cleaned it off the best I could and its like crystalized metal. its kind of an explosive looking metal or fiborous. silver looking. On one side it has a smooth texture with a black coating but the rest of the surface is all crystally looking but metal. I checked it with different magnets, but magnets will not stick to it. before you mentioned about the metal detector, I was actually looking at it again a couple weeks ago. I had this in my possession for about 20 years now often wondering where I could get info on this.

Hi everyone...just thought I'd post a quick note to say I'm back from Aspen, and I didn't hit a tree and end up in the hospital or anything like that. I have a bit of a busy weekend ahead, but I'll be back to my regular posting self soon.

I'll have plenty of pictures to share, too, but most of them aren't on my camera so it might take a bit.

Good luck Grant! Think it may be a bit BRISK this AM though... Hey, do you think those attending the Sweetwater in-store will actually get to meet Joe? That would be awesome
I've been waiting all morning for my 12 yr old daughter (she's taking the SAT)... meanwhile listening to "Ghosts" from Live in Paris =) LOVE that song. Not sure why it didn't make it on the PSATMOR US release...
Everyone have a good weekend!
JOE, feeling better yet?

Do The Stu: Austin, welcome back. Hope everything went well on your vacation.

Distorted Soul: Rick, as far as I know, Joe will be there.

Axeshredderjc: Joe, thanks for the advice, but they prefer to have kilts. I would say about more than 50% of the participants had kilts.

Okay, I did the run & here are the results:

1st in the Age Division 6th Overall out of about maybe 500 or more Time was 16 Minutes & 44 Seconds

However the course was short by about half a mile. If it was a 5K, I would had another 2 minutes plus some seconds added on. It was cold and rainy, but it was fun. The run was for you Joe, & for everyone. Hope you're doing better Joe.

Grant

I am really enjoying Black Rock. Steal Your Heart Away, as I mentioned earlier, is one of my favorites, as is Blue and Evil. I gave this my usual new album skim over every track, and these two immediately jumped out at me. The intro and outro to Blue and Evil send a chill down my spine. Intro goes in to a very heavy riff that I must have the volume turned all the way up for! I would consider it fairly simple as I was able to pick up my guitar and play it after just a minute, and I am far below even amateur level.

On a side note, I absolutely HATE the new layout that YouTube has decided to go with....

On another side note, I picked up Liquid Tension Experiment's Live in LA and NY albums. Very cool stuff. Acid Rain and Another Dimension are two that I have been constantly listening to. I am kind of getting 'backed up' with music here. I feel like I am running behind on Live in Paris now, so I will have to catch up on that as soon as I wear Black Rock and LTE out. Also, I've had a bootleg of Joe Live in Paris on the FIABD tour, 1990 for a while now. I've really been into "I Believe and "Can't Slow Down". I wish Joe would sing once in a while these days, he has some great lyrics that should have the dust blown off them once in a while!
