good day to all! well it's finally dry here! no rain the last 3 days and plenty of bright sunshine with highs near 70! most of the flooding has receded but now you can really see the damage that was done. it's pretty extensive. thank goodness we didn't have to go through that. i can't even imagine the poor folks who already were down thanks to the %13 unemployment and now losing thier homes to the floods instead of the banks. counting my blessings. may not have a job yet but still got the house. have a great day everyone, we're heading out to the park to enjoy the day!

Happy Easter, everyone!
The U2 concert I went to last year at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on June 3 in the US and June 7 in the UK. There's more info and a trailer at U2.com. All 97,014 of us in the crowd look great!
This'll be the fourth official release of a complete concert that I was at...not bad for a 26-year-old. ;-)

Hey Joe, how many scales do you know? How many are there? I just looked at a list of scales and there are things I have never even seen before. Lydian Augmented??? Auxiliary Diminished Blues??? Prometheus Neopolitan??? What does this mean???

Peace Lily---Thanks for the links to Experience Hendrix, Joe with Living Colour, "3rd Stone from the Sun" and "All Along the Watchtower." I like at the end of "3rd Stone..." how Joe said, That's some crazy Hendrix! (I like it, too!)
JOE--When I see you onstage, it's as if I'm seeing my brother perform! And I don't have any brothers except those I adopted! :-)

Hey Everyone & Happy Easter:
Hope you all had a good Sunday. Work went well; we had about 650 people at our Easter Buffet. My family came to eat and I got to serve them. :) I'm glad that's another Holiday out of the way.
Axeshredderjc: Thanks man and Happy Easter to you to. Hope the weather was nice. It was warm here, but then we had a little rain that passed through.
Peace Lily: Yum, that cake you made sounds good.
Do The Stu: Austin, that's awesome. You must be quite the star when you're in the crowd of any concert.
Roo: Thank you for the info.
To those out west, is everyone okay from the earthquake? Hope you're all okay safe.
Happy Easter Joe, Chickenfoot, Webmaster (Jon) & everyone!
Work tomorrow at the guitar shop.
Grant

Hi all hope you've had a great Easter, it's just winding down here. Good to be disconnected for a little while as in offline, with lovely warm weather and 2 days on the beach, some guitar practice and family.
Hope the earthquake was not too bad?

Everyone is fine in LA and other major US cities...there's no damage to speak of here aside from things falling off store shelves and the like. The first quake hit in Mexico (some of the aftershocks were centered in SoCal though)...the damage in Mexico is likely worse but I don't think it'll be as bad as Chile (and nowhere near Haiti).
I felt it here in Long Beach, it was a very slow rolling. So the shaking itself wasn't bad, but it went on for a long time (30 seconds to a minute), so that's what felt kind of weird.

oxley,, there way too many scales to list off the top of my tiny peabrain. look into a "guitar grimoire" set of books and you will be OVERWHELMED by how many there are. after meetin joe, i have started modal therory and it has had a huge impact on my playing.

Great Easter here.... ..one lil highlight...we adults had our own little egg hunt...my father-in-law and mother-in-law like to stuff those plastic eggs some with candy.... some with dollar bills and they buy a bunch of mini liquor bottles like Baileys Irish Cream(assorted flavors) vodka ~whiskey~Kahlua~ etc and hide the stuff all-over the lawn for the adults to find.
After the kiddy's have their hunt .....we adults(if you can call us that) go seeking our own Easter treasure's. About 15 of us this year......running around like crazy trying to score the most goodies.....LOL .
I only ended up with 3 mini bottles and $7.00 and a bunch of candy. But I laughed so hard I had a side-ache...
On a serious note I am very happy to hear there were no injury's reported in the recent quake, very good report..... stay safe peeps!
Got to call a day now.....tired ........sugar high wore off. :-)
