@pascal5609-i'm with you on that. I wish Joe would do a live concert and have it recorded with all of his tracks that don't have any recorded play time. Here are some good examples. 1.Hordes Of Locusts 2.The Forgotten Part 1&2 3.Motorcycle Driver 4.Why 5.All Alone 6.Luminous Flesh Giants 7.Secret Prayer 8. A Train Of Angels 9.Clouds Race Across The Sky 10.The Souls Of Distortion 11. If I Could Fly 12. It's So Good

He could easily make a concert out of these songs. Not exactly in this order persay though.

Has any really noticed his exclusion of his Is There Love In Space? songs in his live concerts. It is one his best albums and the only songs he has played from it was Searching at that G3 concert. It just perplexes me that he rarely talks about it too. It's not my favorite but I still love the album as a whole. But the thing is....... it has a weird hypnotic vibe to it. Like all of his work on it is just........different. The distortion he uses is great, but unlike any he has used before. And the character and personality of the songs are stranger than his past musical journeys. Have you ever been in a long car ride where the clouds completely cover the sky and it looks like rain and listened to the album twice over? I have. Legitimately, not trying to be funny, it changes you. Its a weird vibe that emanates from the album that I don't understand. It's the conflicting emotions on the album that confuse me also. You have the pure rock sound of GNNAHH and Up In Flames at the beginning which is Joe's style. But then you have the happy Just Look Up and the high-flying If I Could Fly contradicting against the dark, sorrowful, heavy feeling Souls Of Distortion and the bluesy, evil I Like The Rain. Then in the middle of all that you have the lonely, but strange Is There Love In Space? and Bamboo to finish it off. These things create a weird feeling in you that are just deep and powerful. And all you are doing is listening to music......

Hey Joe! And everyone for that matter. I just wanted to stop in and let you guys know that we have an excellent Satriani thread going over at the ESP Guitar forum:

http://bbs.espguitars.com/showthread.php?t=50702

The forum can be a rough ride for some folks, but our thread has been going strong discussing Joe's tone, his gear, his techniques, our favorite songs, YouTube clips, and anything related. It's over 60 pages now, and it's been a blast.

I'd invite you all to check it out and jump in the discussion. Enjoy!

Joe... I'm not sure how to ask, or what I'm asking exactly... but would it be possible to get your permission to use your earlier works as background music for my youtube channel videos? I'm sure you've been asked this before, and I do apologize for bothering you with such a request. I simply cannot find other music to fit the various videos I make or intend to make and only your music is so broad in so many aspects that I might be able to fit it in with my videos. I don't receive any money for my own work, it's all of an amateur general interest sort, and I would be sure to give proper credit and as best I can promote your music, artists that play with you in various concerts and albums/songs...

I feel even worse for you...seriously unlucky on that :( but I am really glad you were not hurt worse. We never know what a days gonna bring us, do we? Great CF uploads BTW !

Guitarvibes- Thank you for the links for the 2002 webcast. I have seen some of it on You-tube but not all by any means. I hadn't seen "New Last Jam" ..just watched it. That was a killer concert....... Too bad it was not filmed for distribution but I certainly enjoy these clips.....

Mystical Robot- You will have to tell us all about your Bonamassa concert experience on the 24Th ..... Its bound to be an awesome experience..............

Peace Lily - there was a trip I was in the middle of finalising that tied up nicely with going to Cabo too. Everything appeared to be in alignment and then... anway, doesn't matter really.

I can still watch it like everyone else and if it doesnt feel real enough then guess I'll just crank up the heating and slug some tequila to recreate the live effect : )

Glad you liked the vids, should be more to follow

GuitarVibes - nice link. Cool! Did you make your own recording btw or download?

Ibanezplyr - how are you doing now?

Cheese - I expect you'll only need a browser in order to access the webcast, same as last time. Did you watch that one - I can't remember

Oxley11: I totally agree with you reg. ITLIS. Been listening intensely to that album this past week and it is for sure a very emotionally charged album. Joeīs solos on this album stand out to me as being the most articulate ones heīs done. Just listen to the title track, If I could fly, Souls of distortion, Just look up and my favourite Joe song of all time Bamboo!! His solos on these songs are so very extremely articulate that I have to remind myself not to stop breathing.

After having listened to the entire album I feel like I have been grabbed by the core of my soul (donīt know if you understand what I mean, itīs really hard to describe...??!!) - maybe itīs the same kind of feeling you get when driving on a cloudy day with ITLIS playing in the car.

I read somewhere that Joe said this album really was a turning point for him creatively - the album from which the following albums sprang out. I donīt think he surpasses the songs from ITLIS from the setlists on purpose, he doesnīt play a lot from EOC, SBM either. It just seems like he thinks the audiences expect him to build the setlists around a lot of the old hits.

I wish for sure he would put Flying, Surfing, Cool 9, Ice 9 aso. on the shelve for a while and let us hear some of the other brilliant material live, - maybe we should just ask him to change the setlists a bit??!!

Anyway, I have often thought about which Joe-album really is my favourite one and I have never been able to pick just one, because they all have something really beautiful to offer. But if I was to be put on an deserted island and could only bring one CD with me, ITLIS would probably be the one.

Best to all from Denmark - Lea
