The nasty Westboro Baptist Church idiots were supposed to protest at my daughters college today. GRRRR! They never showed up, and the reason why they didn't show up...?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The church had planned to picket the screening of "The Anatomy of Hate" from 7 to 8 a.m. this morning.
The film, shown Sunday, is about hate and hate groups and features Westboro. The screening was part of a five-day "Silencing the Hate" program of lectures, forums and other events sponsored by student campus groups.
"After today's screening, you will know that God hates people and sends people to hell," the church said on its Web site last week.
Shirley Phelps-Roper, the eldest daughter of Westboro Pastor Fred Phelps, said in an e-mail this morning that the church canceled its visit to Lancaster County because it had redirected its effort to celebrating the deaths of 29 coal miners outside Catholic churches in Wheeling, W. Va.
"The destruction of this nation is IMMINENT!! Therefore, this little flock of slaughter is running to and fro – when God reached down from heaven in response to the brute beasts in WV who were breathing out threatening and slaughter against this little church, and SMACKED that mine sending 29 straight to hell, it required that we redirect our efforts for my team," she wrote. "... We decided that the rebels would have to hold that picket without us!" she wrote. "
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ohhhh, I can't wait for their karma to come back around!

Sometimes when I listen to Joe I think "how come this guy is not more well known?". Then other times I think "how lucky are we to have him to ourselves".

Skippy, yes, they are. They're not Baptist by any means. I think they just use that to be "church" affiliated. They in NO way preach religion, just sheer hatred for pretty much everything in general. They're web address is godhatesfags, but never go to it. Google them instead and look on wikipedia. I was sending emails out with the subject WBC, to discuss their visit to the school, and my feckin' mail program stopped sending any outgoing mail thinking I was spamming! I had to delete what I had in my outgoing file before it would let loose any of my mail. Even the feckin initials are evil! lol! There is nothing worse than losing a family member or friend. Soldier loss is particularly hard because they weren't sick or elderly - they were fighting for freedom (as in freedom of speech). These a-holes show up at funerals. The worse time in your life where your heart is so broken and your soul is raw - and this is when they "attack" these precious souls for no reason other than their burning hate and to bring pain and suffering to as many ppl as possible. This family of yahoos should all be certified mentally insane and put away on a feckin island somewhere where they can hate each other till the end of time. People like this just blow my mind. How anyone can be so hateful when life is so beautiful is beyond me.

Anyways, the drummer in my son's band just got a handsonic. I haven't seen it yet, but i think it's pretty cool!

OMG chelle, you SO need one of those fer yerself!! Think of all the stress relief that would bring, and you don't need an entire drum kit to make some killer noise, LOL!!

I hate that hate group. I'm just sayin. I guess it's stupid of me to wish for them to be tolerant instead of blindly hating, when I have no tolerance for them and their "agenda". They make it damn tough to turn the other cheek. I vote to vote them onto that island like yesterday.

Nice Sweetwater vids, thanks for sharing them!! Joe looked and sounded good :)

Whelp, it's hailing outside at the moment. sigh.....

Peace Lily--The Red Green Show is a comedy series show from Canada and has been aired on Public Broadcasting channels all over the US. I love the humor. The show takes place in a cabin setting called Possum Lodge. The main man at the lodge is a guy by the name of Red Green.

TheHawkGuy and some of the others that have asked about my wife. First off thanks for asking. The swelling in my wife's her head has gone down. And that is about the only improvement. Her memory is still gone, A quick recap She fell down some stairs the weekend before Thanksgiving and banged her head severely. She didn't lose her motor skills or ability to function (she can drive, write, read, talk. ) As she has become more comfortable and trusting of me, she tells me imagine waking one morning and think your a nine year old girl on a farm, riding your horse one day and the next time you look in the mirror you see a stranger an older woman of almost 40 in the mirror who has been married for 19years, has three teenage girls. Now if everyone multiplies that times 10 you might begin to understand the nightmare my wife and I have lived for the past 5 months. We've quit waiting for the day her memory comes back, and left it in the hands of God. She is learning to know me again and I am learning to be understanding and just sharing lots of stories of our life from the last 19 years. Everyone please don't feel bummed for us, the positive vibes are what we need, that is what we feed off of when we are feeling down about the hand life has dealt us. She still likes and appreciates Joe's music so some kind of connection is still there.

Peace Lily - To answer your question from the other night, I guess I've seen somewhere around 150 concerts. Let's see...

My first concert was Jonny Lang opening for Aerosmith in 1997. My second was the same bill, in 1999. My concert-going was fairly limited (5-10 each year) until 2005, when I got my own car. Since then I've probably gone to at least 25 a year...last year I probably made it to almost 50 shows. Living in California makes it easy...I see a lot of shows for cheap in small clubs.

I've seen Satch 30 times in various incarnations (solo, G3, in-stores/TV appearances, Chickenfoot, Experience Hendrix) and the Dave Matthews Band 22 times. I've seen Dream Theater/related projects, Dredg, and Led Zepagain (the awesome Led Zeppelin tribute band I talk about all the time) about 10 times each. Bands I've seen about 5-10 times include Aerosmith, the Black Crowes, Collective Soul and Yes.

Those 10 bands make up about 100 concerts, and then there are a lot of other bands I've seen once or only a few times. Oh, and then I'd have to go through the list and remove shows I'm counting twice (like the Joe Satriani/Dream Theater double bill, or Dream Theater opening for Yes).

Typing this out now makes me want to really work on putting an organized list together. I save all of my ticket stubs so the work shouldn't be that hard...that'd be a fun project to work on, actually.

...Austin...

You guys have to check this out - lots of peeps playing Shoot To Thrill in a competition via Justin Sandercoe and the winner gets a custom ACDC guitar. Check out the video submissions here on youtube.

There's a great 13 year old kid, a couple of ACDC tribute bands, an Italian guy rockin his heart out, lots of bedroom guitar vids, I really enjoyed watching them. Shame there are no women (no, I doubt I could learn it in time and besides I'm crap).

Surely all the great T2J guitarists could rip this up easily and take out the prize? C'marn!!!! I wanna see some T2jers up there - .

Chrispy? Axe? Pip? Ken? Dave? Roy? Al? Fritz? Scube?

Would also love to see Joe play some ACDC one day too....

edit....hey Glitzy check out the Sweetwater vids Mystical Robot posted, you're there at the beginning haha.

Classy lady Nancy Reagan:

We could all learn so much from this elegant and gracious lady. You might recall that John Hinckley was a seriously deranged young man who shot President Reagan in the early 1980's. Hinckley was absolutely obsessed with movie star Jodie Foster, and in his twisted mind, loved Jodie to the point that to make himself well known to her, he attempted to assassinate President Reagan.

There is speculation Hinckley may soon be released as having been rehabilitated. Consequently, you will appreciate the following letter from Nancy Reagan to John Hinckley:

To: John Hinckley From: Mrs. Nancy Reagan

My family and I wanted to drop you a short note to tell you how pleased we are with the great strides you are making in your recovery. In our country's spirit of understanding and forgiveness, we want you to know that we bear no grudge against you for shooting President Reagan. We are fully aware that mental stress and pain could have driven you to such an act of desperation. We're confident that you will soon make a complete recovery and return to your family to join the world again as a healthy and productive man.

Best wishes, Nancy Reagan & Family

P.S. While you have been incarcerated, Barack Obama has been banging Jodie Foster like a screen door in a tornado. You might want to look into that.
