Can't wait for the new disc "Light Years Away" is sweeeeeet! I love your tone, it's always so thick and dirty, then you get jazzy... so awesome. Such an elating listen everytime. You say when you play "Flying in a Blue Dream" you feel like your flying and it takes you awhile to come back down (I just Wanna Rock live in Paris) now can u imagine how your playing makes US your FANS feel everytime we hear your music :) Hypnotic!!!! Have a Beautiful Day joe !!!!!!! You deserve the best for caring about your fans, thanks, I will always cherish it when I met you in Indio before show. :)
AMAZING SHOW!!!!! Regardless if your equipment took a dump for those few moments, no big deal, you carried on like a champ and we still love u. I loved how the crowd got super loud cheering for you (in support of you) when that happened :) your the best :)

@Glitz Man- Number 5 isn't The Forgotten. But I'll give that to you anyway because that one was misleading. If you want to guess for what 5 was, that's fine. All the rest of them were correct though.

lemmie see, a few more peeps to thank for your good wishes...Bob, Glitz, Chip, Miguel, Millie n Freddy...plus of course everyone who posted before that...feelin the love and it's wunnerful, thanks guys and gals!
Skippy, have fun on yer epic journey with the joeys this weekend, just be safe doing the extreme sports, lol! And PS, I had already bought into the lottery on Thursday before you posted that, so woohoo, maybe it's time! lol!
Wooley, I love that Montreux vid of Joe in his specially-painted outfit. He's so young and fired up and that's a great song :) Glad to hear things are working out there for ya, once yer really well-settled, we can all come over fer a house-warming barbeque, open bar, LOL!
Scuba, ONE MONTH, WOOT!! Now, I wonder...since we'll get a preview of yer show here on October 6th, do u want us to post a set list or no....just be surprised? We can hardly wait for the Napa show, a little over 2 weeks away now!!
Chelle, that was pretty cool video of the Brooklyn storm. I really love a good storm, just not one that causes harm ov course. And yer 2 chillens are freaking BRILLIANT!! They are doing so good in school, mama must be bustin buttons from proudness :)
Ian, yeah, thanks...this is actually his second jsx amp, the first got replaced by Peavey with this one. And even though he's called "Chrispy" fer a good reason, he's not done anything but love on his amps, both of them, and treat them like gold. Our guitar guy can tell if Chris were to do ANYthing to them, such as attempt to take it apart himself, and we just had it in his shop late last week and he said all looked good, Chris is being good and not messing with it at all, lol! Maybe it helped when I tole him I'd kilt him if he did after he first got it :)) Anyway, as much as he totally loves the amp, he's now trying to decide whether to keep it or not cuz of both problems. I know they are great amps, I think he's just been unlucky with his 2 cuz many many peeps are extremely happy with theirs and have no problems. We'll send it back to Peavey but they told him they are backed up months on repairs...so he shall have a lesson in patience. These things happen in life and he must learn to deal so we are looking (or at least I am, him not so much, lol) at this as an opportunity for growth :) Thank gawd for the warranty!! He never did find a cheapo amp to noodle with while he waits, but it's all good, he's got a decent acoustic to keep him company for now :)
Podcasts should be starting soon, YES? AYE!!!

Saturday September 18, 2010 - 40 years since Jimi's unexpected death; 40 years that Joe has devoted his life to the electric guitar.
Joe Satriani, I couldn't imagine you doing anything other than what you do now.
I would imagine this is kind of a bittersweet day for you- This would have been a special day to release the new album, but it will be worth the wait. Your 40 years of hard work really shows in your music, and I believe Jimi lives on every time that you touch a guitar.
Joe, if you had stuck with football, it's a safe bet that a lot of things and a lot of people would have turned out much differently.
Thank you
Ian

So I just listened to Talk To Me for the very first time, I can't even believe there was a song that made it under my radar! Especially for this many years! Wow... Joe sure has come a long way! LOL! That ending sure sounds familiar though.... all the way "Back" To Shalla-Bal.......
edit: Also, WTF is this? I've read all the yada yada about it being an improv tune by him and Jan Cyrka called Heart Of The Sun but I saw somewhere else that this title is not correct, does anyone have the skinny on it?
smooches,
» Phył

40 years ago from this date, a legendary musician died. His music was unique and different from any other that was made during the time. He took everyhting to the extreme to see how it would turn out. From plugging in 4 Fuzztones at a time, to lighting his guitar on fire on stage. From creating a song that emphasized the beautuful effects of feedback, to using the wah pedal like no other guitarist has before.
Passing away at only 28 years of age, his name was Jimi Hendrix.
Now many guitarists were inspired by Hendrix's innovation and skill. But one of his most dedicated fans was inspired to become a guitarist, just like him. His name, as we all know, is Joe Satriani.
Jimi's death affected the entire course of his life. And now he has been playing guitar for 40 years, has had 12 successful albums, working on 13, and has been around the world many times seeing and performing for his millions of fans. And on top of all that, he is still a humbled, down-to-earth, all-around great person.
One decision, changing one lifetime.
Never underestimate the power of a decision.
Thank You, Joe. For all of your music.
R.I.P- Jimi Hendrix He will not be forgotten
