So we stopped at a Guitar Center in Medford after I picked Chris up for the weekend this afternoon....he was looking at some piece of rack-mounted processor/fx thingie...Behringer somethingorother...so I was scanning the tab books, he joined me and guess what he spotted....

A CHICKENFOOT tab book!! Chris is excited cuz now he can finish figuring out a coupla tricky spots and how to play them, and I'M happy cuz I can read all the words and finally know what Sammy is singing in those "mystery" parts. LOL!!

So yeah...it's a Hal Leonard book, in case anyone is interested :)

Thanks Joe!!

Chelle, that song is killer!!! I can't wait fer you to get the new cd either, LOL!!

It occurs to me that if actually pressed on the issue, Joe would avow, that without a doubt, the most glorious achievement in his magnificent career was singing backup vocals on a Crowded House album... Joe, I am right ain't I????

Things not going so well here...boyfriend was very stressed working for KFC as only had a few hours (not enough to pay the bills) so he took a temporary full time job...which turned out to be not full time and has only lasted a month...so got nothing now...sigh!

Satriella: LOL, I understand what you're saying. Maybe I should put "rest" in my posts. LOL. I hardly had any time for myself the past week because of, well you know. I did pick up a few more job applications; one for a pizza place, one at a bank, and one at a music/record store. The restaurant/hotel I'm at is getting a little stressful for me, and I thought of changing departments there by doing banquets. It might be a risk (fewer hours), but at least I could get some R&R in between and focus more on my running and being with family, and maybe watch the Chickenfoot podcasts in Cabo.

Off to work at the guitar store and then it's work at the restaurant in the evening.

Saturday is the run/race. Wish me luck!

Grant

Ok i'm trying to get a better understanding of the scales and how to use a metronome along with it the right way. Its so hard learning these freaking things theres just so many of them. What can i do to help me learn them faster and use them more musically in practices, and use a metronome with it. I tryed some things but that didn't work for me if anybody can help me out much would be appreciated thanks.

mikesb - That's an interesting question. You might be right as far as recording achievements go, but my guess for the high point of Joe's career in general would be playing with Billy Cox and Mitch Mitchell at the Experience Hendrix show in SF in 2004.

Any other guesses, anyone? Touring with Mick Jagger or Deep Purple? Playing with Les Paul? Self-releasing the Joe Satriani EP? Recording Not Of This Earth?

I also am trying to get a better understanding of scales.

Sometimes they say 12' 06" and sometimes they say 79.1

A few folk in here might not agree but I reckon that Joe would say the high point of his career is the Chickyfoot experience.

mikesb - Yeah, I get that...but as I said, it's an interesting question. And even if it's a joke, I'd still argue that more people have "heard" Joe on that album (even without knowing it) than from most of the rest of what he's done.

And from your other post, I'd maybe add Joe's first Grammy nomination to my list of stuff.

I can't wait to walk, but must so'os I don't pull a stich. I still don't know if'in' I'll be able to dive after this, unless there is a orthotic that helps. I will find out when the docs are ready. DK-..Well im using the tremolo the same way beck does as im rehearsing for another blues competition...no one else has in the past and adding my own flavor to it i may open some eyes if anything.

Hey Glitz- Well its not serious at this point..they say i could eliminate it if i lose 30 pounds...we'll see about that...gotta find a sugar free cheescake..;)

Hey Danny- Well first i expect Joe to finally convince Sammy to play a little more guitar..maybe even a solo. I dont expect them to change too much as their recipe works just fine. Chad plays guitar and sings...lol..im kidding but it would be a hit..

Randy syle was such an influence back in the early days..His death to me was like Jimi's to Joe..though i was playing already..his death just had me in shock and treasured the recordings i had..thanks for the link
