JOE SATRIANI, one of rock music’s most renowned electric guitarists, has announced that his 14th studio album, Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards, is to be released in the UK on Monday, October 4th via Epic Records (Tuesday, October 5th in North America). The album release dovetails Satch’s fall UK tour, which kicks off on October 17th at the Manchester Apollo.
On the new album, Satriani’s classic sound is accompanied by a surprisingly rich new texture. The first single,'Light Years Away', is destined to be a hit, alongside several other high energy offerings, like 'Wormhole Wizards' and 'Premonition'.
Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards tracklisting:
'Premonition'
'Dream Song'
'Pyrrhic Victoria'
'Light Years Away'
'Solitude'
'Littlleworth Lane'
'The Golden Room'
'Two Sides To Every Story'
'Wormhole Wizards'
'Wind In The Trees'
'God Is Crying'
Satriani joined with former VAN HALEN front man SAMMY HAGAR, former bassist Michael Anthony, and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS’ drummer Chad Smith, to form the stand-out rock collaboration, CHICKENFOOT. After a highly successful world tour, their self-titled debut album was certified gold in the US by the Recording Industry Association of America with over 500,000 sales.
Over the last two decades, Joe Satriani has traveled the world, playing to sold-out crowds as both a headliner and as founder of the all-star G3 guitar extravaganza. As one of the world’s most renowned instrumental artists, Satriani recorded Live in Paris: I Just Wanna Rock! in 2008 at The Grand Rex Theater in Paris, France. The live two-disc CD and DVD was released in February 2010 through Epic Records and contained such memorable songs as 'Surfing With The Alien', 'Flying in a Blue Dream', along with recent hits like 'Super Colossal' and 'I Just Wanna Rock'. Of his many solo albums, two have gone platinum and four others went gold, with 15 Grammy nominations between them.
The UK release of Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards dovetails Joe Satriani’s autumn 2010 UK tour, tickets for all UK shows are on sale now and available from the national credit card hotline 0844 888 9991 or can be booked online at www.ticketline.co.uk.

Michelle--Thanks, I needed that. Life ain't easy with my emotional disturbances and Steve's seizures and other health probs.
Austin--What a treat the way you learned you loved Satch's music and hearing it on the radio. The only song of Joe's I've heard on the radio is AWMAWY!
Gotta go get my car serviced this morning.
Hope everyone is well and at least content if not happy.
Hi Mr. McKenna!

ALSO>>>>>>>
By editor: Jermy Leeuwis on August 19, 2010.
In 2002, legendary guitarist Joe Satriani
performed the National Anthem for the Opening Day of Major League Baseball’s Oakland A’s. Now, that historic season opener is being recreated, complete with Satriani’s stirring Anthem rendition, for the brand new Sony Pictures movie Moneyball starring Brad Pitt, based on the 2003 novel Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game by Michael M. Lewis.
Satriani will perform the National Anthem as he did on Opening Day back in 2002, keeping director Bennett Miller’s pursuit of authentic recreation. Filming for Joe’s Anthem scene took place on August 3 in the Oakland Coliseum, site of the A’s home stadium. Moneyball is the story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane’s successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget, employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players using a modernized, analytical approach and assembling a competitive baseball team, despite Oakland's disadvantaged revenue situation. HOW COOL IS THAT....(too cool I'd say) :-)

I'm interrupting the Satch talk for a quick moment to tell everyone to listen to some DMB, in memory of their sax player...LeRoi Moore died two years ago today. You can listen to all of their music via the flash player on the band's website (go here and click the music note at the top right)...pick something good. :-)
Listening to: Dave Matthews Band - Ants Marching (06-28-08; Bristow, VA)

Fantastic! Dates for Satch tour.......I am so excited! The 2nd leg as you said Al will be in January! Wooo Hooo!!!! I can't wait to be there and meet you and the other ppls who will be there! I hope all works out and Steve's health holds up.
Steve Moritz was born in S.F. and knows the city well enough....although it has changed a lot over the years and it's hard to keep up with it at times. I need to focus and keep calm while driving through there.....It may be worthwhile to take public transport.
Joe and Jeff and one of the splended bass players........worth so much.......greatest music in the world!!!

Hi Everyone.
Wow, it looks like I better order Joe's new album soon.
Before I do that, a friend and I will be at Sweetwater tonight to see Rob Balducci and Dave Weiner perform and use gear from Eventide, Morley, and RJM. They will both also do a dual guitar-jam. I can't wait.
Since you were all talking about how you all started listening to Joe, I'll share my input:
I started listening to Joe about three years ago when a friend of mine gave me one of his G3s featuring Joe, Steve Vai, and Eric Johnson. After listening to the whole CD, I was blown away. Totally impressed with the whole thing. Therefore I bought my first CD from Joe called One Big Rush: The Genius of Joe Satriani (I think that is what it's called). After listening to that, I started hunting for all of Joe's other albums (online, stores, etc.), and I have them all, including the DVDs. All of the albums are excellent and I enjoy every single song that he has made.
I also saw Joe's tour dates. Darn, nothing in Indiana. I'll have to see if it will work out for me to go to Cleveland, Chicago, or Detroit to see him.
Well, gotta run. Looking forward to tonight's event at Sweetwater. By the way, we scored front row seats, about two seats away from the center. Take care peeps.

re: album cover... Joseph, yer to damn skinny! Have a samish ferchristsakes! lol!
Just saw some Louisiana fisherman talking about the seafood in the Gulf and the safeness (or lack) of it. I could barely understand 2 of the guys. lol! Either way, no way in hell I'd eat that stuff or feed it to my family. I know those people need to make money, so I say how about they get a government contract to the cafeterias in Washington and feed those a-holes their "safe" seafood. How many of those ppl do you think would be brown bagging it from home if that were the case? It should also be the only thing served to the executives at BP. If it's safe, YOU eat it!
Anyways...so...um....yeah.
