Dude, Do I Smell White Castle?

by Eric Burkett -

“Hey, what's that smell?”

“What smell? Kumar...”

White Castle, the iconic hamburger chain that inspired stoners everywhere with its title role in the movie “Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle” has just released a scented candle. Hamburger-scented, of course.

Mind you, this is the same company that sells burger-scented air fresheners so, in some bizarrely cosmic twist of logic, this makes sense. And even if it doesn’t make sense, at least the proceeds are going to a good cause.

The burger chain has partnered with Nest Fragrances founder Laura Slatkin, designer of fragrances for Vera Wang, Elton John, and Princess Diana, to create a truly distinctive scent.

Described by one industry magazine as “the steam-grilled-on-a-bed-of-onions scent of America's first fast food hamburger” the candles are being offered throughout the month of May for 10 bucks. The proceeds support Autism Speaks which raises funds for autism research and advocacy.

Actually, the first run of candles – modeled after White Castle’s cardboard burger packages – has already sold out. More will be coming in. Keep an eye open and, hopefully, you’ll have an easier time getting to White Castle than Harold and Kumar.

Kenny Chesney talks to Anderson Cooper about TN. flood damage

What a mess.... read today too that many musicians lost millions of dollars of equipment & instruments also, which of course pales in comparison to the losses in life that have occurred.

I really had not read much about this tragedy until today ....very bad deal.

Hi there, I read you're going to Europe, but I only see concert dates in France. Do you only come to France or to other european countries as well?

I agree with the Hawk Guy. But I think you should release one of the songs without a name to let the audience create their own custom vision of what hey think it's about. Some of Joe's songs have emotions that you can't explain until you see the title and then say "oh yeah that's what it sounds like". Searching, War, and A Train Of Angels are good examples of those "thaaaaaat's right" moments.

Still eagerly awaiting the release date for the Ice 9 overdrive pedal. I saw the Youtube video where Joe was jammin' out on it. If anybody hears anything, please let me know. Thanks!

Iron Man 2 Tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

Check this out

Unbelievable.

My husband and his boss had dinner at Joe's Crab Shack at the end of the video a few years back. So much loss. So much history gone.

Cube, hows...things?

"Douche of the Day" crown goes to...

Lawrence Taylor.

Definitely can't get enough of my 'Buzz On' here.. I've been experimenting with different programs today and finally got the audio lifted from the DVD. The only program I found that didn't cost anything wouldn't let me edit the start and stop time for the individual tracks, so they are ripped just like they are cut on the DVD.

I ripped them as 320Kbps mp3's; if anyone is interested I hope to upload them to some sort of file sharing site and will post the link here. Any suggestions on a good place to store them? I haven't done that kind of thing in a few years and I'm tired of search engines right now...

Man, this DVD.. I LOVE the little intro Joe lays down on Get It Up. I just listened to Oh Yeah and could have sworn Jimi Hendrix was playing the last 50 seconds of the song. I keep looping that little bit, it's so awesome!! Looking forward to cruising through town in a bit with this blarin'..

IronMan 2 is already showing in Mexico. Amazing what movie piracy can force a studio to do.

I saw it on Tuesday. It was cool.

Specially that ending when Iron Man tells Spider Man: "Luke, I am your father" ......

jajajaja, this never gets old!! Cheers!!

hybes - I think it's safe to say Joe is done with Peavey and will be using Marshalls (just look at his recent Ice Nine pedal promo on YouTube...that's practically a Marshall ad as well). It's coming up on a year since he made the switch; hopefully once that time passes he'll be able to talk more openly about the change.

michelle - "I figgered WTF, if I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go with Godsmack in one hand, and Chickenfoot in the other!! lol!"

That's the way to do it! Glad you made it back OK, though... ;-)

BobCliffe - One thing that might help is to switch your wah and distortion. Try starting with JS1200->Satchurator->Cry Baby.
Skippygirl - Unpause Always... on your iPhone already! Haha...
Peace Lily - Thanks for the link to the Chad interview!

Check it - You can hear most of the album here. The Oracle is just balls out rock! The Devil's Swing is swanky with a mean groove. Cryin' Like a Bitch is a sure fav. lol! A few songs are missing. War & Peace is REALLY good - just a total kick ass cd :-)

Just saw something on tv that I thought needed to be shared. That crazy nasty guy Bear Grylls sp? was showing that if yer car is going under water and you have to break the window, pull the headrest out of the top of the seat. There's usually a release button for adjusting it. Pull it all the way out and it has 2 pointed prongs on it that you can use to jam into the glass and break it. Never would I have thought of that. Those things you can buy to put in yer glove compartment to break out a window - who knows if you'll be able to reach it in time. Yer headrest is right there. That guy is one of the nastiest mofo's on tv, but he does have some good stuff to say...besides rehydrating yerself by squeezing the water out of animal feces. UGH!!! GAG!

Michelle - wouldn't it be faster to wind the window down? Lol. I cant watch that Bear Grylls guy, he eats a dead seals' guts and then when filming finishes he and the crew check into the local motel so what's the point?

Happy Friday all! I'm going to watch GYBO again tonight.
