Marktaylor---Sorry to hear your mom passed away. My prayers are with you.

Joe--In regard to AZ's law.........I think it was the wrong way to go. Did they think the INS and Border Patrol were woefully understaffed to do the job of protecting our southern border? Definitely. They must have felt very desperate to go their own way! Congress has work to do to get the immigration laws of this country up-to-date. What is on the books right now, I've been told is Byzantine! Also, I heard President Obama is trying to work out some kind of joint law enforcement effort with the President of Mexico. With the budget cuts made across the board at all levels of government, I'm not sure if enough people are being educated and trained to serve in the INS and/or Border Patrol and how many jobs in those areas were eliminated. All the best legislation can't make up for cuts in staff that enforce the laws.

Hawk Guy--Thanks for asking Joe about his next album. Great to see an immediate answer to your question!

Having a challenging day helping Steve stay healthy and happy.......He is having trouble with lower GI tract! Sigh!

Hi Everyone!

Mark Taylor: I'm sorry for the loss of your Mother. Prayers for you & your family.

Axeshredderjc: Nice comment/story/facts to know. Thanks for sharing with us.

Pima651: Very strong points you have there. BTW, welcome to the forum.

Skippygirl: Thanks for the praise.

Alexandre Caetano & Igneousiceman: Hi there you guys! Been a while since ya posted. Great to see your post(s).

Dream3: Hey there Jamie & I hope your AFL teams are doing well.

TheHawkGuy, Peace Lily, Elpp, Michelle, Cheese101, GG2, Fatape, Cappy Steve, Slanshroom, Scubadaz, Ibanezplyr, Anibur, DTS, Roo, Death Cube K, Njbeast, Tikimon, Keniko, and Everyone: Hope you're all doing well. I heard about the deaths of Gary Coleman & Dennis Hopper. Two big losses in entertainment. Prayers to their families. Speaking of families, hope you & your family are well.

Hi Joe. Hope you're doing well. I also hoped that Mike had a great birthday.

Have a safe Memorial Day Holiday folks. This week is kind of big for me. My sister & her husband are celebrating their Anniversary (10 years) this Thursday. Besides working the next four straight days (including filling in for one of my coworkers on Memorial Day), I'm also volunteering/playing a card dealer for the Junior Achievement Golf Outing that Thursday. Once work & the volunteer work is done, then it's off to South Bend for the Sunburst races. I'll be leaving Friday & running on Saturday. I have been practicing and putting in 15-20 mile runs for the past couple weeks. I hope it pays off for me for the Marathon.

I have received so much info./advice from my running buddies: Don't start out fast. Stay consistent. Miles 1-20 should be at a steady pace. After mile 20-21, then you could pick up the pace. "Slow is smooth, Smooth is fast."

Anyone, that includes y'all & any of your family/friends, that has any other advice/encouragement, feel free to say/post it.

Take care peeps.

Grant

In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved, and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Yes we need to hold that torch high, that's a poignant poem Joe. We recently had ANZAC Day which is our day to honour our war dead and survivors. It's a huge day here and growing each year.

What do you all typically do on Memorial Day there?

Skip, unfortunately we do not celebrate Memorial Day as a statutory holiday. Our only day of remembrance remains November 11 but it is not a stat holiday, only banks and government are shut down on that day. Many here consider the antiquated "Victoria Day" (celebrated a week ago) as an unofficial day of remembrance....

I HAVE BEEN A FAN OF YOURS FOR YEARS, I AM 62, AND I CANNOT BELIEVE YOU ARE TAKING SIDES WITH THE ILLEAGAL MEXICANS THAT DRAIN THE STATE THAT I LIVE IN. (ARIZONA) I HOPE THEY RAISE YOUR TAXES SOO MUCH THAT YOU WILL UNDERSTAND THE BURDEN WE HAVE HAD FOR YEARS. I ALSO HOPE THAT OTHERS LIKE ME WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING AGAIN FROM A NON PATRIOTIC US CITIZEN AGAIN. YOUR RELATIVES AND MINE CAME HERE THE RIGHT WAY, NOT THRU THE BACK DOOR. I AM DESTROYING EVERYTHING THAT I OWN THAT HAS YOUR NON PATRIOTIC NAME ON IT AND I HOPE OTHERS DO TO, LET THE ILLEAGALS, IF THEY CAN READ ENGLISH, BUY YOUR MUSIC

Joe, ya brought tears to my eyes. My heart can't take war. God Bless all those who serve, and may he protect and guide them and bring them home safely.

WAR Sing it Bob!

I woke up this morning to the school marching band going through the neighborhood. They should do that every weekend.
