Hello Joe. How's things?! I'm a huge fan of your guitar playing and songwriting. I've been trying for years to write my own instrumentals with the amount of care and attention to detail of someone like yourself. I've learned a lot of your back catalogue which suprised me as I have a very similar style to your playing. Im currently practicing the tricky part of 'The Mystical Potatohead Groove thing' (Great title!) but not up to speed yet! Anyway, my question is, what for you is the biggest deciding factor of releasing a piece of music. Im quite proud of some of the stuff Ive done for sound and production. There are others i like for the technique involved. I'm gonna release an ep with three songs on it and find out where to send it. Any advice on how to choose the best one's would be greatly appreciated. Ps. Great site. Im new to it and looking forward chatting to everyone out there. Keep up the good work Joe!

Sure glad to hear that more European dates will be announced, because Copenhagen is still not on the Iist!!! Please donīt skip Denmark on this tour Joe....... īcause this time around I wonīt be able to come see the UK-shows or the shows in southern Europe due to a huge backlog at work. Please-please-please add Copenhagen or maybe Hamburg even!!!......OK this could be regarded as a very selfish wish considering what else is going on in the world these days. But I would just die (or maybe not??!!) if Iīd have to miss out on Joeīs tour in Europe this fall.

A good news though is that for the first time in my life I will get to experience Mr Jeff Beck live in concert - twice even!!: Copenhagen and Hamburg, Germany. I am deliriously excitied about this - have waited for years to see Jeff Beck live in concert and finally itīs happening, yuipppppppiiieeee......

Still want Joe to come play for us in Copenhagen though...!!!! Keeping my fingers crossed XXXXXXXX

Best to all of you - Lea in Denmark

Joe good to see the blue, i do agree with you, like I said before, if the feds did thier job this discussion wouldn't be taking place. nice little piece of poetry looks vaguely fimiliar. & thanx for keeping this board uncensored!!!

just remember everyone, when you stand up for your rights just be sure you're not standing on someone else!

elpp; thanx and no beers but we did kill a bottle of Cabo in about 1 1/2 hrs. and there were only 3 of us! i did have to pick up the mrs. once when she missed her chair! lol

axe; congrats dude!!!

congrats to glitz as well. looks like you're moving up in the pack, so to speak.

condolences for your mom marktaylor.

just a few words on my vaca. Sammy's Beach Bar is the only real beach bar he has opened so far. it is right on the beach. drinks are a little pricey, but so is everything in Atlantic City! music is only good on Friday nights! we had a total blast!!!! thank you Bally's and Sammy's for the free weekend. if you have to go through the Philly airport i have pity for you and don't ever fly usairways. between the airport and airlines it took us 7 hours to get back home. the flight was only 45 mins.

have a great day all!

joe: my first cd i ever bought was yours, the extremist. my step-mom was FURIOUS since i assumed to use their cd player when i did not have one. wasn't very bright then. my reasoning was,"but you guys are going to LOVE THIS CD!!! PROMISE!!!" i begged them so much to listen that they finally gave in. it played non-stop for 3 DAYS. no joke joe. they fell in love with your music, like everybody else. just thought you might enjoy the true stories of how you inspire people. i also have more "joe" stories later............oh and tell dave larue to keep the cattle prod on my dad. we slocum's tend to be stubborn and need to be kicked every now and then.

lastly, how does somebody go about vocal try-outs? is that even a possible consideration?

An old joke but still funny!

While visiting England, George Bush is invited to tea with the Queen. He asks her what her leadership philosophy is. She says that it is to surround herself with intelligent people. He asks how she knows if they're intelligent.

"I do so by asking them the right question," says the Queen. "Allow me to demonstrate." She phones Tony Blair and says, "Mr. Prime Minister. Please answer this question: 'Your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or sister. Who is it?'"

Tony Blair responds, "It's me, ma'am."

"Correct. Thank you and goodbye, sir," says the Queen. She hangs up and says, "Did you get that, Mr. Bush?" "Yes ma'am. Thanks a lot. I'll definitely be using that technique in the future!"

Upon returning to Washington, he decides he'd better put the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to the test. He summons Jesse Helms. "I wonder if you can answer a question for me."

"Why, of course, sir. What's on your mind?" says Jesse.

"Uhh, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your brother or sister. Who is it?"

Helms hems and haws and finally asks, "Can I think about it and get back to you Sir?"

Bush agrees, and Helms leaves. Helms immediately call a meeting of other senior Republican senators, and they puzzle over the question for several hours, but nobody can come up with an answer.

Finally, in desperation, Helms calls Colin Powell at the State Department and explains his problem. "Now look here, son, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this is not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"

Powell answers immediately, "It's me of course, you idiot."

Much relieved, Helms rushes back to the White House and exclaims, "I know the answer, sir! I know who it is! It's Colin Powell!"

And Bush replies in disgust, "You're wrong, you idiot. It's Tony Blair!!"

Michelle--Can't say I'm familiar with Deadliest Catch. Steve and I watch mostly HGTV and PBS shows. There's a cool Canadian guy on HGTV, Mike Holmes who solves homeowners house structure nightmares. He looks like a weight lifter and is as strong as one, too! When I watch TV I don't just want to be entertained, I want to learn somethin' like what it takes to build a really strong house that will last practically forever....."Done right the first time!" as Mike Holmes says. Did I say I love Canadian peoples......[ blushes}. I don't know why......there's just that special something about the human connection.......here I go again!

Joe--I so much love Flyin' in a Blue Dream and You Saved My Life......Any songs you write about the people you love hit home with me. And I am determined to play a cover of ZZ's Song with all the love and zen it deserves....Thank you for your generous sharing......so much to share in this life.
