I saw Andy McKee in New York back in February. I flew out there for Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck at Madison Square Garden, and it turned out Andy was playing a club show a few days later. I ended up with a front row center seat at his show...very cool!

He's a really nice guy...he spent a few moments introducing each song during the show, explaining how he went about writing it or talking about a unique guitar tuning or whatever. I talked to him very briefly and got an autograph after the show, too.

If anyone is looking for other guitarists who play the same style, check out Michael Hedges or Kaki King.

Quote from our daily newspaper today -

"A robber dressed as Darth Vader, in a full head mask and cape, made off with an undetermined amount of cash from a bank in Long Island, New York. The only part of the uniform that was out of place were his camouflage pants. And a handgun - no light sabre."

Axe, can you account for your movements in the last 24 hrs please? LOL jk.

Peace - interesting vid there, thanks for the link. Lots of shocking stats (would be great if he posted the sources) - e.g. 73% of all musicians are on drugs and alchohol.

I hope our lovely Joe is in the other 27% - I guess that's were the grounding of family helps right?

There's a lot of musicians in this world...

I'm just sayin'.

lol!

wooleyman, it's slowly getting better. My jaw hinge was so jacked it's taking a while to heal. It still hurts a bit to open my mouth to eat a sandwich or burger. Way better than it was though. Never had a toothache like that before, and hope I never have one like that again. Thanks for asking. How you doin'?

It looks like Mike Keneally will in fact be playing keys on tour with Satch...cool! Well, he'll be playing on all but two of the dates. I saw a post on Mike Portnoy's forum saying that Jem Godfrey, the keyboard player from *Frost, will be filling in on keys for the October 22 Glasgow and October 23 Birmingham shows.

I think this is the first "official" confirmation of MK touring, right? Jem's note announcing the fill-in refers to MK as "Joe's main keys man on this tour."

Cool news Austin....and ooooo, it looks like they also get Ned Evett in most locations other than the UK as an opener...saw him at one of the shows in Ireland I think it was, he was great!!

Freddy and Shannon, many good thoughts and prayers are always coming your way, I think of you both often and wonder how things are going. Thanks for the update and your positive attitudes on life, we can use lots of that around here! Joe loves ya, lol!!

Sandy, congrats on your daughter's marriage, hope it's long and happy for her :)

Oooo brain cell crawled back in, Happy Anniversary to Millie and Steve, many more good years to you both.

I know I'm missing something but I think that brain cell fell out, sigh.....anyway, hope everyone is doing okay. It's hot here and yet I'm freezing...the hotter it gets outside, the colder the air gets inside from the air conditioner, GEEZ!!! I need a blanket!

Oh, Peace, thanks for the link to Sammy's interview, fun as always :)

86,400 TICKS

Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest:

Each morning your bank would deposit $86,400.00 in your private account for your use.

However, this prize has rules, just as any game has certain rules.

The first set of rules:

Everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you.

You may not simply transfer money into some other account.

You may only spend it.

Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another $86,400.00 for that day.

The second set of rules:

The bank can end the game without warning; at any time it can say, its over, the game is over!

It can close the account and you will not receive a new one.

What would you personally do?

You would buy anything and everything you wanted, right?

Not only for yourself, but for all people you love, right?

Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on yourself, right?

You would try to spend every cent, and use it all, right?

ACTUALLY, this GAME is REALITY!

Each of us is in possession of such a magical bank. We just can't seem to see it.

The MAGICAL BANK is TIME!

Each morning we awaken to receive 86,400 seconds as a gift of life, and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is NOT credited to us.

What we haven't lived up that day is forever lost.

Yesterday is forever gone.

Each morning the account is refilled, but the bank can dissolve your account at any time....WITHOUT WARNING.

SO, what will YOU do with your 86,400 seconds?

Aren't they worth so much more than the same amount in dollars?

Think about that, and always think of this: Enjoy every second of your life, because time races by so much quicker than you think.

So take care of yourself, be Happy, Love Deeply and enjoy life!

Here's wishing you a wonderfully beautiful day!!!
