Hi. This is my first post. Although I'm really exited to see Joe touring again I'm gutted that he's not playin' Belfast. Seen him 2008 in the Mandela Hall. He blew my mind! I managed to get my then 16 yr old son in with me. It was his first concert. Needless to say he was on a high for a month afterwards. Strange no Belfast gig when our own Simon mcBride is doin' support. Oh well, maybe I should keep fingers and toes crossed - I seem to remember the Mandela gig was announced late last time - Donna

@-cheese101- A shout-out is a mentioning of someone's name. it's kinda like what people do when they get an Emmy or Grammy.

Ex:"I would like to thank 'so-and-so', for making this great honor possible."

But when you win an award, it's more like a shout-out/"thanks for all of your help".

NOTE: I will be using everybody's nickname, not their official name. I'm pretty sure everybody knew that, as some of you only have your nickname up, but I put it up to clear any other possible confusion.

Just recently watched theHarry Potter and The Deathly Hallows trailer. I don't know about anybody else hear, but I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, and I think the trailer looks freakin' awesome! Anybody else fans???

Joe,

Sorry to hear about the loss of Bill Westcott. I know he meant a lot to you.

Do you by chance remember my father from your years in High School? His name is Jim Bould. He played the drums and I believe you guys were in the same year. It's a long shot I know but it would be funny if you did after all this time!

Another Wasp Spray Use

I know some of you own GUNS but this is something to think about...---

If you don't have a gun, here's a more humane way to wreck someone's evil plans for you. Did you know this? I didn't. I never really thought of it before.

I guess I can get rid of the baseball bat.

Wasp Spray - A friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection.

She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead.

The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray, they have to get too close to you and could overpower you.

The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote.

She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would.

She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. Thought this was interesting and might be of use.

On the heels of a break in and beating that left an elderly woman in Toledo dead, self defense experts have a tip that could save your life.

Val Glinka teaches self-defense to students at Sylvania Southview High School . For decades, he's suggested putting a can of wasp and hornet spray near your door or bed. Glinka says, "This is better than anything I can teach them."

Glinka considers it inexpensive, easy to find, and more effective than mace or pepper spray.

The cans typically shoot 20 to 30 feet; so if someone tries to break into your home, Glinka says "spray the culprit in the eyes". It's a tip he's given to students for decades.

It's also one he wants everyone to hear. If you're looking for protection, Glinka says look to the spray. "That's going to give you a chance to call the police; maybe get out." Maybe even save a life.

Please share this with all the people who are precious to your life

Did you also know that wasp spray will kill a snake? And a mouse! It will!

Good to know, huh?

By the way, it will also kill a wasp!

Solar storms may be visible over NW

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The sun may be about to put on a colorful light show.

That's because of two minor solar storms that flared on Sunday and are shooting tons of plasma directly at Earth.

Scientists said residents of northern regions -- from Maine to Oregon, Washington and anywhere farther north around the globe -- may see unusual northern lights.

Usually only regions closer to the Arctic can see the aurora of rippling reds and greens, but solar storms pull them south.

The federal Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder, Colo., said the plasma will likely arrive late Tuesday night or early Wednesday. The storms are not much of a threat to satellites or power grids.

Until recently, the sun was in a phase with few storms

Gah is right!!!! The flooding in Pakistan very tragic..... much loss of life & evidently some violence broke out there too... after assassination of a member of the dominant political party .........something like 45 people died from violence arising from that .

I'm done reading the news today........

I am going to check out the night sky for those "northern lights" tonight ....that could be kinda cool.........

oxley the trailer looks good. i am waiting to see it. these are not really childrens books or films.

zinc, i have heard that b4 about the wasp spray, however 1 of my cop students (i teach self defense) says that since this is not a normal use for this product and it is a poison, you are opening yourself up to a huge lawsuit. granted the bad guy was stopped cold but it is amazing how the baddies lawyer up and sue the peole they were attacking and WIN.

Very interesting . . . spray the bad guy, then they sue you for blinding them, instead of letting them rob, kill, injure or whatever to you.

Interesting world we live in.
