I've listened to LYA a bunch now...I really like it, still. The riff is awesome; it's a longer one for Joe. It sounds like something John Petrucci or Steve Morse would come up with.
Aaand, I finally bought my Chickenfoot Lake Tahoe tickets. I'll be there with my brother and dad, probably in the early afternoon-ish.
Now to catch up on a few days' worth of old posts...
Skippygirl - Yeah, I'd like to go to at least a few west coast shows, but I can't make any decisions until we know the specific dates/venues. So I'm crossing my fingers that things work out nicely for me. :-)
And if things go the way they have in the past, unfortunately, people outside the US won't be able to get signed CDs. I guess that's been a Sony decision with the preorders/contests?
michelle - That sounds like a cool Bonham gig...thanks for the info. I agreed to go wine tasting with some friends that day (argh!) so I can'at go. I'll be the one driving, though...maybe I can convince everyone to head back early? ;-)
oxley11 - The Squares were Joe, Jeff, and Andy Milton on bass. I think they only lasted for a few years, but they did have several songs recorded. Joe talked about them a bit last year, when he saw I had posted links to a few songs. Go to the bottom of page six of his posts if you want to read...
Ozzy_Fudd - Congrats on the U2 tickets...are they GA tickets, at least? You'll have a great time either way; I had a blast at the Rose Bowl gig last year that's now available on DVD. And one of the times I saw them in 2005, I was sitting in the very last row of the venue...but let me tell you, as long as you're inside, it doesn't matter where you are. You'll have fun. :-)
BobCliffe - Your link went to a YouTube directory page...what's the specific track you were talking about?
Pip55 - Yeah, I think LYA is a good one. And you're right, I left Mike out of my description...shame on me. He doesn't do much on this particular track, though...hopefully he's more present on some of the other stuff.
Daxel123 - If you buy one of the meet and greet packages ($300ish per person) you'll definitely be able to get your guitar signed. If you don't want to go that route, though, Joe is usually pretty good about signing things for fans who wait politely by the bus after the show.
jimbojim - The UnList moved to YahooGroups, but it's nearly dead. I sent a message with a link to the new Satch song...that was probably the first message sent in a few months.
So you aren't missing out on anything, but if you want the new info then send me an email (my address is in my profile here).
axeshredderjc - Your birthday is coming up? When? Happy birthday, in case it's today...
Listening to: Dave Weiner - Shove The Sun Aside (current song: Dave's Party Piece)

YAY! Austin, can Chris and I stand in front of u, yer dad and brother? U could be our "barrier" against the eegits that I'm sure will be there stomping all over us, lol!! Good to hear yer gonna make it, that's you 3, us, and Ian...don't think any of the rest of the gang is going this time. Where you staying? We're at the Mont Bleu, I did hotwire so dint get a choice...about 3/4's of a mile from the venue so we'll drive and park in the parking garage...but that way we can bring chairs and a nicely stocked cooler with us and tuck it away before the show :) I'ma remember the 1000 block sunscreen this time too ffs!! Oh, and we're getting in Friday night, when u arriving...wanna do Sammy's fer dinner?
Phydeaux_3, thanks for the info on how to convert youtube to an mp3. I sent it to my son, now lets see if he can make it work. He's good with computers, but some access is blocked on the house computer, so I dunno if this will help him or not. I'm dying for him to hear the new song!!!
The unlist....is deader than DeaD. Phooey.
Peace, it's not too late to get Tahoe tickets maybe!! You can hang with us, we're good peeps! Don't be afraid, just DO IT!!

Cheese- AWWW ........ thanks ! I would love to go hang with you good peeps.....but I've let too much time pass by to plan for a Tahoe trip. We have accepted an invite to a thank you BBQ one of our best clients is throwing & RSVP'd for nine attending. I think they might be a lil peeved if we don't show. However- hope all the peeps attending have a kick-a** time .
I hope to attend either San Fran or Reno for a JOE show so hopefully will meet up with some T2jers then.... :-)
My girls only week-end concert trip ate up funds too......so I gotta save up some . :-)

Peace Lily - I don't think things are as bad as that article makes it sound...I actually bet Chickenfoot plays a few shows in some capacity next summer, between the RHCP's recording and touring.
I wonder if schedules have changed a bit and the RHCP stuff was delayed. Because if Chad will be busy all of 2011, it would have made sense to have recorded over the summer and have Joe's solo tour to be a Chickenfoot tour.
Now the earliest Chickenfoot can really record is next spring, with a summer release, but it won't make much sense to release an album without an immediate tour. I don't know...
cheese101 - I haven't worked out final details with my dad yet, but I don't think we're staying the night in Lake Tahoe. My parents live less than two hours away so we'll probably drive in that morning and out that night.
I'd like to eat at Cabo Wabo again...I can probably talk my dad into being there by noon for a pre-show lunch, but you'd probably want to be in line by then, huh?
We'll work something out, and yes, you and Chris are welcome to stand in front of us. The crowd was pretty crazy last year.
Ian, what's your Lake Tahoe schedule look like?
And there are a few other names on the attendance list I don't recognize...if any of you are reading this, speak up! It'd be great to meet you...we don't bite. ;-)

Light Years Away, Nice groove Joe. But then you always have been able to make toe tappers.
DTS the bass riff reminds a bit of some of the bass riffs on the Extremist album.
Other than I am not going to compare to anything but another Satriani Gem.
Sounds great Joe, I can picture the crowd bopping its head right along with you and the band.

Wow.... a fairly eventful day!
1. Light Years Away
2. Received our tickets for the Chicago show in the mail!
3. Approved day off at work for day after concert to recover
I like the fullness Mike's keys bring to this chapter of Joe.
The anticipation continues to build...

OK this is Shannon, BLUEBUFFALO's wife. Freddy's birthday is September 1st, I am trying to get him to the Tahoe show! This man is amazing, he loves me so much and has stood by me through my accident. He even proposed to me again. Anyway , I am not very schooled in how to buy tickets and all this is so new to me. I need help. I told him he is not allowed to look on Joes sight until after the show. because I am trying to reach all of his friends and this is the only way I know how.
Freddy fell and hurt his knee, he tore his miniscus, and has not been able to even think about the show, (he really wants to take me and meet up with Tracy and Austin.) Then when he sat down and realized it was coming up and he was out of $ he almost cried. He so badly wanted to try to show me what I knew last year. Anyway, it all comes down to where do I find tickets this late, and how do I pull this off. Somebody who knows Freddy, school me please. My email is kokopellinme@aol.com, thanks to anyone that can help. I would ask Freddy, but I want to suprise him... Thanks and hope to hear somethin soon....Heck I am not even sure how much Gas and all that and then I have to rent a room? guys, really... I dont know these kind of things, heck I barely even know what a computer is.... lol

Jstatearnthewind - Click my username to the left of this post and you'll see my email address...send me a message if you have any specific questions and I'll do what I can to help.
Chickenfoot tickets are still available from Ticketmaster...here's a direct link:
http://www.ticketmaster.com/event/170044B8A1446522
The Ticketmaster page shows the venue has seats everywhere, but that's not true...it's a general admission show with bleachers in the back and on the sides, and a wide open floor. I don't know how bad Freddy's knee injury is, but if he won't be able to stand for the whole show you'll probably want to get to the show early enough to grab seats in the bleachers. Click here to see what it looked like last year (from the front of the crowd by the stage, looking back).
There are plenty of hotels in the area. The venue is part of the Harvey's casino, and they have their own garage with free parking. So you can stay wherever nearby and just drive to the show and park for free.

DTS- was a nightmare getting pre sale tix. My girl joined U2's site for $50 to get access code for pre-sale. Put the code in, all went well, ticketek allotted some seats, went one step back to check where the seats were, only to return to the purchase screen to find the code was now invalid. Jumped onto a forum to fond out it was happening all over. Next step was I joined U2's site for $50 to get another pre-sale code. This time round we just just took what they gave us.

You're more than welcome cheese! I'm glad that at least one person read my post. :0) Let me know if it doesn't work for you, we'll figure something out.
Been binging on Joe heavily for the past few days, I put the entire discography on my clip and let it play on random until it runs out... takes something like 14 hours total (I listen for just over 8 hours a day while working/driving) before I have to press play again and start over.
Of course I still need at least one listen of Fuzz Nation at some point too... boy howdee that album has really grabbed me by the nads.Anyone else addicted to it?
smooches,
