Hey Joe just wondering did you put some U2ish influence in the new album? Cause I noticed that In the beginning of both Wind in the Trees and Heartbeats it sort of has that U2ish sound to it.

THE ALBUM IS CURRENTLY ROCKING MY LITTLE SOCKS OFF.
'God Is Crying' is INCREDIBLE. I was expecting something really sad and solemn.. but instead I was hit in the face with this most jamworthy and mindblowing song of AWESOMENESS.
Ahem..
In other words, Joe, this CD be some damn fine work. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into it :) I cannot wait to see you on the 19th in London!

I love the new album! :-) I'll post a proper long-ish review sometime later in the week, after I'm back from Napa. The variety here is really cool...I think I've said this before, but each song sounds like it could be on its own album.
From favorite to slightly less favorite (the ones at the bottom aren't bad, just slightly less good):
- Wormhole Wizards
- Wind In The Trees, God Is Crying
- Dream Song
- Solitude, Heartbeats, Longing
- Premonition, Pyrrhic Victoria, The Golden Room
- Light Years Away
- Littleworth Lane, Two Sides To Every Story
I know a lot of people here like LL and TSTES the best, but they aren't really clicking with me yet. They're probably the most personal to Joe so I'll keep listening...I bet they grow on me. I really do like how Joe is trying something different with those songs, though...and I'd rather have "different" songs like these that aren't top favorites instead of more typical Satch stuff that I really like. Variety is awesome.
Also, I wanted to take a minute to tell everyone that a lot of John Lennon's solo catalog was remastered and reissued today. Most of the albums were done by the same people who worked on the Beatles stuff last year, so I'm sure they sound great. I bought the big JL box set, but I haven't listened yet. More info is here:

I literally ran out of my house this morning to get a copy of the album as fast as possible and boy was it worth it.
Compared to what i heard on youtube this album really sounds amazing. I really like this album quite a bit. I need to listen to it about 50 more time though. Tonight i will sit in a dark room with a stiff drink and blast this sucker on my huge stereo speakers.
I would list songs i love but I think I love them all. Something about this album sounds familiar and yet very fresh at the same time. Lost of keyboards on the album and that's really a nice welcome thing. They are done very well and the Bass pounds very nicely as well. I think these songs will take on a whole new life on stage. Please please record some shows and make a live double cd to hold us over once the tour is done. I listen to the Live in Paris Cd's a lot. And even there the prof satch songs shined with a whole new power.
I really hope this album is a smash hit. You deserve it !

heyy Joeeee!!
Can't wait till you're back in scotland on tour again! :D Last time i saw you on tour was 14th march 2008 in the royal concert hall in glasgow, was one helluva show!! So lookin forward to seeing you again in Glasgow at the clyde auditorium on the 22nd october!! :D woooooooooooooo ahhaaaa I've been listening to your new album, I absolutely adore the new sounds on it, each track has an individual feel, with different effects, its like having a small story in each of your tracks.....sorry for the rambling on ahaa I have a question for you, What out of your Vox pedals would you recommend for an Ibanez GRGR121-EX and Replicating your sound when playing your tracks? but also good for creating my own sound on my guitar? :)
Please write back soon if you are able to,
Always a faithful follower,
Euan O'Donnell

Hi gang, we made it to Napa and are in the hotel room...wifi is a bit dicey though.
On the way down here we stopped at the Best Buy in Redding, CA to pick up two copies of the new cd with the bonus tracks....they hadn't heard of it, didn't have it out anywhere, only had 5 copies when they did find it but had to look quite awhile for them!! SHEESH!!! I tole them "shame on you" cuz it's an exclusive release by them so they should know more about it!!
Anyway, we popped it in the cd player in the car and went off back down the road...absolutely love all the tunes, including the two bonus tracks...they are wonderful and worth buying the extra cd for. Ahem....I'ma have a total of 6 copies of this cd (two with bonus tracks) when all is said and done...geeee-e-e-e-e-e-eeeeze!!!
Napa is very pretty wine country, we're staying at a hotel right around the corner from the venue, and will prolly go exploring in just a bit. Some beautiful old buildings here, right near the river.
Can't wait for tomorrow night Joe, until then we'll be listening to the new album and be very happy, lol!
