Not another birthday! Well......mine's comin' up mid-month....I'm about a month younger than Joe......To me, that's amazing. Where have I been all our lives, JOE? I had to wake up and be receptive to your incredible music at some time in my life!
My Steve had to get an MRI of his right foot due to a swollen ankle. The other night I sat next to him while he was lying on his back with his foot strapped and packed onto the table so he couldn't move it. The powder blue and putty colored machine looked like something from Star Trek. The display panel had various lights that went on when the images were being taken....plus loud booming noises at different frequencies were somewhat deadened by us wearing earplugs. It was quite an experience. Steve winced a few times because his ankle was hurting. He did fall asleep a couple of times within the 40 minutes it took for the machine to go through its cycles. Steve said he's used to the sights and sounds of the MRI machines because he has to have at least 2 a year done of his brain for his epileptologist at Stanford.

michelle - You were also born a few years after Joe, right? ;-)
And I forgot to answer your earlier question. The US "An Evening With..." leg of the SBM tour took place in November and December. Joe took a break for the holidays and then did another week or two of west coast dates in late January/early February. I'm still bitter about missing that tour...argh.
And then in 2004, Joe did most of the US in October. The west coast dates were set for after Christmas, but after the first two shows the rest of the leg was rescheduled for April because Joe got pnemonia.
I'm a bit surprised that Joe is touring Europe first, so late in the year, when it seems he usually tours there during the summer festival season. But it's been two and a half years since he was last there, not counting the short Chickenfoot tour last year, so I guess it makes sense.
That's enough outta me for now...I'm off to see Sammy Hagar at the OC Fair.

Austin, look here youngin'!! Joe got an 8 year head start! lol! Guess that's a few years behind him. lol! I remember a November gig, and also April. That was about as early and late as it got I think? Just stood up and looked at the ticket in a frame with pics on my desk - Nov. 5th, 2003. T'was a G3 with Steve and Yngwie.Got an Yngwie pick with that one too :-)
We were watching a show on VH1 the other day, some sort of top whatever of the 90's. This song came on, and my daughter started singing along with it - word for word. I damn near fell off the sofa laughing! I remember the song Lump, but forgot all about this one. To feckin funny!! I think we actually have the cd somewhere? lol!

What a day.... its county fair time here and my son is in 4-H. His 4-H project is hogs....he was transporting his pigs to fair and his very best pig had a stress attack and died. Poor piggie!!!!!
One might think hogs are just stupid animals but they are really quite smart and playful like dogs. Anyway made me feel bad...for both the critter and my son......
Michelle- Grandchildrens>>>>my daughter's due date is January 1.......
my son's girlfriends due date is any where from Jan 20 to Feb 1. The latter pregnancy was a big SUPRISE as he still has a year of high school left . Any way ...could possibly mess up my concert going plans but maybe not . Any way stuff happens....so you deal with it....right?
GG2- Poor Steve! Hope he get better soon.
McDave- Happy Birthday. Hope you and your family are doing good .
Skippygirl- You must be busy..have not seen you post in a while . Hope everything is going better for ya.
Satch related musings....Read an Interview from an older Guitar World magazine November 1993 " Shred On Arrival ". Interesting to read some of these older interviews and already know the directions Joe has taken his music in the years since. :-)

Hey everybody!!!!
I went to bed last night around 1:30 and had trouble falling asleep. I eventually didn't get to sleep until 3:30. So around 2:30 I turned 104.3 on, to get my self a little more at ease, and a bunch of great songs came on in a row. I don't remember the exact order, but it's something like this.
I turned it on and it started with:
Mississippi Queen-Mountain
then...
Behind Blue Eyes-The Who
Smoke On The Water-Deep Purple
Free Will-Rush
No One Like You-Scorpions
Sweet Home Alabama-Lynyrd Skynyrd
Carry On Wayward Son- Kansas
Peace Of Mind-Boston
Plush-Stone Temple Pilots
Not that I'm complaining, because Ken Dashow is a good host, but he plays a good many songs that I haven't heard before. And it is a learning experience for me. But they're saving all the good stuff for the middle of the freakin' night. I couldn't fall asleep because I was enjoying myself so much. I'm listening to the radio again tonight. They just played Tom Sawyer by Rush and they're playing The Devil Went To Georgia by The Charlie Daniels Band right now.
If you ever have trouble going to sleep, you should listen to your favorite rock station. Good Night!

Sammy Hagar ROCKED the OC Fair tonight. He played for almost two hours, and Michael Anthony joined him for about the last third of the set. Mike Manning was Sammy's tech, too.
Sammy played the fair two years ago, opening for the Scorpions, and he blew them off the stage. He referenced that show several times tonight. It wasn't easy, but this show topped that older one.
I really liked the set...there was a lot of older stuff in there. I got to hear the Montrose medley I mentioned a few days ago, including Space Station #5. I still think Chickenfoot should cover that one some day. I'll post a full setlist later, but aside from the expected Sammy songs he played I've Done Everything For You and The Girl Gets Around. When Mikey came out, they did Heavy Metal, Mas Tequila, Finish What Ya Started and Right Now. They closed the show with Sexy Little Thing.
I heard the soundcheck while I was waiting outside the venue...the band (but not Sammy) ripped through Judgement Day. That's one of my favorite Van Halen songs, so I'm glad I got to hear it in some form.
And lastly, and perhaps most importantly... Sammy is opening for Aerosmith a lot this summer, but he didn't open their Irvine show last week. He said he didn't want to cancel this gig for that one because he thought their ticket prices were too high. It was nice to hear him say that, and to see that he was happier playing to 7,000 fans tonight instead of 16,000-18,000 last week.

Peace - thanks hun, for the shout. It's been crazy around here the last few weeks and I haven't had time to post. Congrats on the prospect of 2 new grandbabies! That's fantastic.
Austin - sounds like a great Sammy show - I love reading the Redheads' reports, they are so devoted to Sammy and they always capture great vids and pics. As for the Satch or Chickenfoot tour, I'd love to see dates announced and the fact that it was your winter was a bit alarming but we'll see. Would love to come over and see Joe again, sick of waiting for any Australian tours, they ain't gonna happen. Would also love to hang out with the T2Jers.
I don't know about anyone else but I'm getting that vibe and energy about Joe's new CD. Mike K tweeted about it, and Jon Webby is waiting to get his hands on it, so I am sure the promos are gonna start real soon, the release date will be out and the tour dates will be up. Hopefully Joe will start doing interviews about it too.
And some blue is imminent, I just know it.
On a different note, I realised today that I am only 2 degrees of separation from Jon Bon Jovi. BJ are touring here soon, will see what happens.

The new CF A.M.P.F. vid is pretty cool. The accompanying music is pretty catchy as well; kind of Turnin' Left-ish...
They posted it on Facebook if you haven't seen it yet. I'm sure it's on the CF page as well.

I laughed my a** off.....funny stuff ! A great way to start the day.
Do The Stu- Thanks for the Sammy concert report, as well as sharing his thoughts on the prices for the concert he did not open for Areomith.
I wonder if Mike Manning was his Tech for Vegas as well.......I could swear I saw him in a couple of Vids I watched.
Skippy- Thanks for the congrats on the additions to our family.
I am having kind of an interesting morning...about this time every year I have hummingbirds migrate and stay around my property for a few weeks before they travel on. Have about 8 doing their flying acrobatics this morning .......so I had entertainment with my morning cup of coffee....... :-)

Hey Joe got my js2400 today..and hopefully you were aware of the issue i had with the first one..but thats water under the bridge now...this guitar is much more than i expected and am pleasantly surprised.
This is my first MoJoe and wow..the harmonic response is unmatched by any production line that i know of, though i dont know that many. Even at a low volumes with "More", its freaky how the strings just start to harmonically feedback. Ive always suspected the shape of the JS creates a natural resonance, and if so, with the MoJoe..its pretty magical on what comes out. Not much difference in the neck pup to my ears but i noticed a hair less punch than the standard JS. Finally the smoothness of the edge is so pleasant it really refines this guitar that the word "Perfection" is appropriate. The extra frets are just a novelty to me,its the design altogether thats a winner!
Congrats....now tell Ibanez that their customer service really blows and should inspect all your guitars better or your gonna create your own factory...or something like that.
Hope your taking a break!
Peace out,
Joe
PS..I paid $1600..what a deal!

Axe: Haven't posted here much in a while but I did see the problems you were having with your first 2400. Glad to see you got that all taken care of. It is a real shame to spend that much money on something and get anything less than perfect!
Gonna post any audio or video of it?
Hopefully next time you can blow everyone else away at King of the Blues...
