OK, now that things are officially out there...

- I love the album title...definitely one of my favorites from Satch, even if it's a bit similar to Dream Theater's Black Clouds & Silver Linings.

- I generally don't like Joe's album covers because they're usually just a picture of him and a guitar. That's the case here again...BUT, among all of the "Joe and a guitar" covers, this one is my favorite.

- God Is Crying is my favorite first sound clip from Satch going back to at least Strange Beautiful Music (I don't remember if we got one ahead of that album, but if we did I guess it was Starry Night?). But I like this clip more than I Just Wanna Rock, Super Colossal, and Hands In The Air. I wonder if it'll be the "single."

...Austin...

not sure if that song title fits with the actual music... maybe if we listen to the whole track, it'll make more sense... so far, it sounded more like: "God's coming back to kick your ass, you lil' punk"... but I could be wrong!

Skippy- Check your spam folder, that's where my CD order email went. I ordered 2 myself!

I am definitely wanting to hear more of God Is Crying... First couple of seconds had me thinking about Crowd Chant, then it kind of merged in to the Big Bad Wah promo stuff that Joe did a while back. I'll bet this is gonna be a pretty effects heavy album given the way he's been playing the last year or so and the sound of God Is Crying. Joe is definitely a master of effects. That's an art in and of itself as far as I'm concerned and I love hearing Joe work his magic.

I'm sure I'm dreaming to hope that there might be a DVD from this tour too.... They have filmed tours from the last 2 albums so maybe it's not that far fetched. For that matter, has anyone heard any more about the possibility of there being an unaffected version of LIP released? I haven't read anything about it in awhile, so I'm assuming it's either on the back burner, or it got scratched completely.

hi everyone! - you've all seen the news and heard the tune teaser so far, i'm sure, so i'm going to just respond to a few other questions i saw here in T2J...

new newsletter - new newsletter should be in inboxes with a summary of all of the news. also posted as a news item here and of course over on facebook which we are continuing to use moving forward since we have such a huge number of folks we can reach there. come join in if you haven't yet -- www.facebook.com/joesatriani

Canada shows & presales - the system that sony is using for the cd and ticketing they can only run in the US which is why canada dates don't have that offer. however, there will still be a presale and the codes for those are posted on the road page-- it's just a more wide open one (which we feel is better than none!) instead of using a secret code. CLUB JOE packages will be available for all shows and the presale codes will get you access to those once the presale starts, should you be interested.

aftershow pass giveaways - yes, we are continuing to do these for just about all shows (festivals are usually the only exceptions).

more videos! - we have plans for a video for the first single, plus we have over 50 hours of footage from the rehearsal and recording of the album that we are pulling some special webisode podcasts from. we are also going into sammy's pad in about a week to record our now-standard intros with joe talking about each song. these will run in the days leading up to the release date and we have a few cool new ideas in the works that we know you'll dig.

God Is Crying... is not the first single, but it's a real nice teaser of the album that Joe picked out to share with y'all :}

un-affected live in paris - i'm happy to report that we received a copy of an unaffected edited version of this and joe has selected a few tracks to be plucked out to appear on an exclusive version of BSAWW. details to come on that as they develop.

site updates, fan artwork, etc - i have to apologize for the lack of action here. we have lots of photos and art people have sent but amidst chickenfoot activities, satriani.com got put on the back burner for a while. as you can see, we are back into full on SOLO mode here now, but we are thinking about some bigger changes for the site so going through that stuff will probably not happen until after we work through that. but nothing will be lost and we'll let you know more as it develops!

btw, thanks for those birthday wishes! i was out of the country on a well deserved vacation so didn't see them until after the fact :}

Hey Joe,

Congrats on the successful completion of your album.

As far as a concert setlist goes, I would love to hear a nice long version of The Forgotten, I & II. I have always loved the melody and great feeling of those tunes.

Any possibility of a D.C. or a Northern VA date? North Bethesda is do-able but a bit of a haul. I imagine the Winter weather limits you to inside venues, so the options may be limited.

Take it easy.

dream3 - after April next year buddy - so Galen said anyway. I need a line buddy so get ready!!!

This explains the pre-sales code thing "Unfortunately, this is only happening for U.S. residents, but fear not, we have plenty of other cool exclusive videos coming from the recording studio, and Club Joe continues to run through the upcoming dates (see the updated package descriptions below)."

So no pre-sales for Aussies.

Gee I hope the Leg2 dates go up BEFORE 23 Aug otherwise how do peeps know to go to the east coast shows or the west coast shows?

Don't they know a girl's gotta alot of legwork to do??? :0)

YEAH JOE!! love the teaser, preordered the CD and gonna buy tickets for the Chicago show!

If yer takin' requests, I think Souls of Distortion would be an excellent song to play live, I can't find a live video on youtube so I would love to see the real deal.

So still looking for prices on everything, for the I Just Wanna Rock Tour, I had regular tickets up in the balcony, now I have a job and can afford some better tickets, maybe even "Club Joe" tickets, so what are the prices? if I can remember correctly, in 08 club Joe was around $400. Right? I am willing to pay that.

I just pressed replay on the God Is Crying teaser for the 100th time. love the vibe! it will be killer live!

Can't wait for the CD to get here, then gotta wait until Dec.9 for the show. I am sure it will be well worth the wait!

My name is Matt and I am Effing proud to be a SATCHAHOLIC!!!!

Is Joe only allowed to sign Ibanez guitars? I remember reading that somewhere, but I got my Ibanez signed last March and I want to get my Fender signed now, the Fender was my first guitar and will always be my favorite. and if it gets signed by Joe Satriani, that would make it the most special guitar in the world to me.

JOE...please play 'WHY' on this coming tour. It is the best song that you've written!

Also...please give some more attention to some of your more recent albums (Crystal Planet, Strange Beautiful Music, and Is There Love In Space?). These albums have been getting no love on the last few tours, and they rock hard!

Bring it on! You're the man Joe! :)

A Hard Day at the Law Office - At Home

An attorney arrived home late, after a very tough day trying to get a stay of execution.

His last minute plea for clemency to the governor had failed and he was feeling worn out and depressed.

As soon as he walked through the door at home, his wife started on him about, "What time of night to be getting home is this? Where have you been? Dinner is cold and I'm not reheating it." And on and on and on...

Too shattered to play his usual role in this familiar ritual, he poured himself a shot of whiskey and headed off for a long hot soak in the bathtub, pursued by the predictable sarcastic remarks as he dragged himself up the stairs.

While he was in the bath, the phone rang.

The wife answered and was told that her husband's client, James Wright, had been granted a stay of execution after all. Wright would not be hanged tonight.

Finally realizing what a terrible day he must have had, she decided to go up stairs and give him the good news.

As she opened the bathroom door, she was greeted by the sight of her husband, bent over naked, drying his legs and feet.

"They're not hanging Wright tonight," she said.

He whirled around and screamed, "FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WOMAN, DON'T YOU EVER STOP?"

"Why" would be awesome to here live. Another one that would awesome to hear live "If I Could Fly" which Joe can easily improvise, and create an epically awesome to it. Another one that would be awesome to hear "Speed of Light" that would be cool. And yet another one that would be awesome to hear "Secret Prayer".

Hi Joe

I see you are asking for requests for the upcoming tour so I will paste a message I left at the beginning of June - I must have been one of the first to make a request!

Message was:

Hi Joe

My 19 year old son Ollie Naismith was killed in a car crash on 6th December 2009. He was an amazing guitarist, inspired by you. He played “Until We Say Goodbye” as his audition piece for college and blew them away with it.

He and I were at Bournemouth in 2008. He spotted you in your wig and shades behind the sound desk while Paul Gilbert was playing and I took a photo of him with you before security took you away. I treasure that photo of him with you.

Following his death I have decided to learn to play. I am still very much a novice but have just bought a JS100 just in case I get good! My goal is to be able to play “Always With Me, Always With You”. Such a beautiful piece of music and so poignant to me. The song means so much to me that I have the opening bars tattooed along the inside of my forearm.

I have tickets for the middle front row at Bristol Colston Hall on 18th October. The reason for this message is to ask that you keep “Always With Me, Always With You” in your set for this tour and if you were able to dedicate it to my Ollie in Bristol …. It would mean everything to me.

Thanks for taking time to read this.

John Naismith

~~~~
So basically my request is please, please, please keep ALWAYS WITH ME, ALWAYS WITH YOU in the set!
If you want to bring Unitl We Say Goodbye back, that will be hugely emotional for me too!
~~~~

One other thing - I am sure no major artist has ever done a "Live at Bristol Colston Hall" DVD before ......

Looking forward to October, got to go now - guitar lesson!

John

Hey Joe Congrats on the new album:) looking foward to it:) I'd love to see my favorite song played live: Clouds race across the sky, and i know that with the right arrangements it would be awesome, pure light traveling lol...i would also like to see some of the songs from the strange beautiful album, i don't often get to see them, songs like oriental melody or mind storm, the journey, chords of life, new last jam, I dunno just use your imagination...u have so many good songs that u haven't played in awhile that would just sound awesome live...other songs like crystal flavour 7, or attack, time machine....and many others...i just think you should re-live a bit lol....

keep on rockin in the free world

cool "God is Crying" does not sound like what i thought it would..but its only a minute long soo..
It would be cool to hear reach into the bag this time..playing stuff like "Memories" maybe..or "Bells of Lal".."Banana Mango" some songs that really kill but we haven't heard live rarely if at all...some songs are just played so much that are on each and every DVD that we all have..not that im complaining..I love Joe..but I think it would be kick ass if he dusted off 3 or 4 classics to dazzle us with instead of the same ones his set has always had..I want to have to pick my jaw up off the floor man..!!
