In 1983 a post freshman moving onto a sophomore in high school and knowing all and not able to listen to reason like most teenagers. lol

I waited all year for Jimi to return as "a merman I should turn out to be." Didn't materialize, but I did play the song then as I do now.

Here is another memory of Jimi. The first time I heard "House Burning Down" specifically the intro. It was so incredible and I had never heard anything like it before. It scared me so I hit rewind on my cassette and played it again several times to make sure it was real. Thanks Jimi

Joe, I was just remembering that at the aftershow in Reno, 2008, I passed on to you a Hendrix sweatshirt on behalf of Mahavishnu (Brian). It was a gift from him to you.

If u can find it, it's a good day to put it on and snuggle down in it :) I dunno if it's cold in San Fran, but it sure is here! And it's a day to especially remember Jimi. Just a random thought I had. Brian is a very generous guy :)

Phydeaux_3 - That improv song was originally done for a guitar magazine, I believe. The name Heart Of The Sun comes from the caption of a photo of Joe working in the studio. It said something like "Joe sets the controls for the Heart Of The Sun."...I guess the person who first spread the file around online missed out on the Pink Floyd reference and thought that was the name of the improv.

I have an MP3 of the backing track, if you're interested.

Chelle, he could put yer shirt on, and then when he gets cold he can toss Brian's sweatshirt on over it, lol! The sweatshirt is also big enuff fer two, so it's a winner all day long, LOL!!

So cube, u know who the opening act is, u gonna share?? Lemmie guess, could it be Dave Martone? And why can't u make any of the Canadian shows.....that's yer neck of the woods after all!

I have about as hard of a time picking a favorite Jimi song as I do picking a favorite Joe song. There is something great about each and every one of them. A couple that stand out for me, though, are All Along The Watchtower, The Wind Cries Mary, and Machine Gun live from the Fillmore East.

I'm sure I could list a lot more if I went through my Hendrix music and picked some out, but those three have been on my mind all day.

I don't really remember hearing Jimi for the first time. My dad was always playing Jimi, Janis, and the like when I was a kid. It was just what we listened to. My dad always had great taste in music :-)

Wooleyman... are you referring to West Coast Seattle Body (to be released Nov 16), or is there another Hendrix release coming out? I'm heading to the Hendrix Experience in Toronto on Oct 28th... with Vai, Eric Johnson, and several others. Should be good... I'm in Row G. For those interested and are unaware... go to www.ExperienceHendrixTour.com for upcoming dates and places.
