Hey Joe! Listen I really want to see you live, but the closest show to Ottawa is in Toronto : ( We were going to drive out there but its on a school night, and school does come first. But would it be cool if you could possibly do a little gig somewhere around Ottawa? That would be great! And good luck with the tour and all! Thanks, Gordon

Home safe and sound, just tired :) but HAPPY, LOL!

Aaron Hagar did an excellent job with the Waboritas, he looks a lot like his dad, sounds a lot like him, can scream just like him, sings great, and even giggles like his dad....he was wunnerful and that was the first time for us seeing the Waboritas in action...LOVED THEM!! Total fun way to start the night!!

Yes, I said it last night and I'll say it again...I've seen Chickenfoot 5 other times, this latest Tahoe show being #6...and last night was the BEST of all the shows for me. Joe always leaves me with my jaw dropped in amazement with his playing, and the chemistry of these guys together just can't be beat...but last night Joe took it to another level entirely. I don't even have words for how amazing his playing was. I mentioned that to Austin after the show and he said he could really tell that Joe had been playing a lot between recording the new album and now rehearsing for the tour, and all that work showed in his playing last night. Might be the explanation, might be that he was just enjoying himself so much up there with his buds doing what he loves to do, might be a comibination or something else entirely.

Whatever it was, it's bloody well working Joe, LOL!! How do you keep getting better and better, I'd really like to know!

We had the same setlist as the other CF shows but there were some twists and turns by that guitar guy here and there...and the entire Star Spangled Banner at the end (as Chad trashed the drum kit...personally I'da liked to have seen him wait till that song was over and then trash away)...that gave me goose bumps. When he finished, Joe thumped his fist on his heart and then out to the audience. We feel ya Joe, and thank you so much for that, it was a great ending to a great show, on a date with special meaning.

And I swear to Bob, the sign hanging outside the venue said Davy Knowles and Back Door Slam were to be special guests along with Aaron Hagar...I even took a picture and sent it to Michelle and she put it up on twit pic....but then later when I went to show Austin to prove it to him, someone had colored over the white letters with black sharpie marker to blot the info out. :(((( Awwww. We got even more excited there, fer awhile, lol!!

This year's crowd was much more respectful of each other, not too much pushing and shoving going on thank gawd....the lady right behind me lit "something" up in a teeny lil pipe and shared her smoke with all of us around her...the guy next to me, he and his wife are school teachers and he joked that he hoped there wouldn't be any random drug tests at his school any time soon. Sigh...some peoples.....

Chris and I were first in the GA line, got there at 10:30 (yeah, yeah, crazy, that's us). Doors opened at 6, Aaron and the Waboritas started at 7. We were second row, but by the time Chickenfoot came out we managed to squeeze in at the barrier thanks to the lovely school teacher couple :) Pretty much right in front of Joe. I let Chris handle the new digital camera (he unnerstands these things better than me) and I did the Flip video thingie and some camera shots of my own. He got some great shots! Haven't had time to check the vids, but if anything turned out decent I'll stick it up on youtube...after I figger it out that is. Chris said he'd help me :D

Chris managed to catch Chad's sweaty wrist band that he threw into the crowd at the end...now...do we wash it or no? LOL!

Long trip driving down and even longer trip back, but soooo worth it! And now we wait and look forward to Joe's new release on October 5th, and then the show in Napa on the 6th. It's gonna be amazing, I already know it!!

LOVE YA JOE!!! THANKS FOR A GREAT TIME!!! I don't want you to ever give up your solo career, but pretty please, keep the Foot going too :) Just be sure to get enough rest and take yer vitamins, k? lol!

Oh and PS, I totally suck at miniature golf, thank you, and good night :)

Michelle--Yeah, I plan to vote in November. I'm voting for real people who can break the gridlock in Congress and who have common sense and the public interest at the top of their list of DOs. I refuse to vote for anyone in the party of "NO" who sabotage progress. But then that won't make me popular with the big military industrial complex, the NRA or other reactionary special interests in this country.

I prefer tea to coffee, but I'm NOT part of the mindless TEA PARTY ppls who spout whatever they're told by the media reactionaries who are just angry because the country isn't the same as it was 60 years ago!

The overblown work ethic (with no respect, compassion, appreciation) has created nothing lately but frazzled nerves, exhausted middle class slaves and nothing to look forward to but retirement or death whichever comes first! Then there are those without work who wonder what will come first, a decent paying job or decline and death. Yet there are those who have and can call up the "better angels of their natures."

GoGi2 (Maybe I'll end up in Japan....who knows?)

I recently purchaced the October2010 Guitar Magazine and saw the AD for Joes Ice 9 overdrive pedal. Said I could enter to win a sighned Ice 9. So I scaned the code box at the bottom of the ad. It said that the promotion was expires Sep 1st 2010. So I went back to the ad the date there (that i did not read earlier) said Aug 31 2010. I just don't understand how an October publication can promote an allready expired promotion. I'm just disappointed that I did'nt even get a chance.

Tiki,

Thanks for the heads up on Ruth Eckerd Hall. I will be contacting all who will pick up the phone at that facility between now and December 4th. The lower level of the food chain had no idea what I was talking about and that is to be expected, so up the chain we will go.

For some reason, Ruth Eckerd Hall doesn't like the idea of a meet n greet/ auto session being set up by the performers. They will however, try to sell you a package to their "Circle" where you donate thousands of dollars per year for some peanuts and wine before shows and a possibility of bumping into a performer wandering the halls.

Frustrating, but a challenge. I'll try to keep you and the rest of the gang updated. Maybe we can organize an email or fax campaign to request they honoring Joe's fan friendliness.

I haven't checked my vids yet but doubt they will be as nice as this one...

Chickenfoot Tahoe 9/11/10 Check like the last couple minutes of that vid to see what I meant when I said Joe was on fire, lol!

Oh, here's another by the same person GET IT UP! Smokin' Joe :)

Skippy, looks like these folks were a little to the right of us, maybe they were just past the schoolteacher couple I met, then there was a guy and his really tired fiancee who kept putting her head on the railing...so then maybe next was yer friends :)

The stage is a really high one, and they put a barrier up a distance away from it, so even in the front row there's no way to reach the guys for a "hi5"....that left plenty of room for the photo pass peeps to wander around and get their shots. One of the photo pass peeps was a very white haired older lady, but she got her groove on just like the rest of us...at one point I looked over at her and she'd forgotten she even had a camera and was just dancing to the music, LOL!!

Mr. Luini, it was good to see ya in the house :) Are you planning on sharing any of your vids with us?

For soundcheck, every one was there from the beginning EXCEPT Mr. Chad, so Sammy and Joe each took a turn on drums so they could proceed..Chad did eventually get there, and as Sammy said then and during the show, he accused Chad of being off getting a "massage", lol!! He said Joe was the mellow one, and that he was too (yeah, uh huh, LOL!) and that Mike and Chad were the crazier ones in the group. But he also said Joe was passive/aggressive, that he's quiet and goes along with stuff, until there's something he doesn't like and then it's "NO"!! Sounds assertive to me, not passive/agressive :)

Sammy also thanked the crowd for turning out to be with them, said he recognized and appreciated the fact everyone was there in these tough economic times.

Chicken-man was there as usual in the front row in his costume and holding up signs, but he was quite a ways over to the right of us so he dint get in our way :) His costume and signs block the view of anyone behind him, and Sammy acknowledged him during the sound check, telling him to be careful so he doesn't get thrown out of the venue. Never did see the Sammy-look-alike guy wandering around like he usually is in Tahoe.

So yeah....now it's back to reality and work!

@scubadaz- Nice list. But why did they smoosh the two different group of words together. I could barely read it.

I'm surprised he didn't put The Wind Cries Mary on the list at all. Considering that was his very first Hendrix song. And I also thought he really liked Here My Train A Comin'. He was actually playing a part of it before House Full Of Bullets in Live In SF. Here's the vid: House Full Of Bullets

Thanks for the awesome reviews! It's as close as I'll probably get to seeing a ChicKenfoot show *sniffle*

Thanks DTS for the heads-up on LTE, after I saw DT here in Ottawa this past Summer (opening for Maiden) a friend suggested them to me and I currently have both of the albums on my Sansa, I've only listened a few times but I like it a LOT better than DT, that vocalist just pisses me completely off. What can I say but quote Frank Zappa: "There's no accounting for taste." LOL!

Also, any oldskool metal fans up in here? Anyone remember Death Angel? They've got a new album coming out (it's leaked already) and it is absolutely %$#@! amazing! These guys just get better with age. The vocals are text-book exemplary of what metal should sound like. The thrash guitar rhythms and leads (and hooks) are delicious! If you liked them back then you'll probably still like them now. I highly recommend the new album, Relentless Retribution.

smooches,

Well, Tracie covered most of the details of the rest of the show...saved me a lot of typing!

I really enjoyed Aaron and the Wabos...he essentially played a covers set of his dad's music, but it sounded great. The band was really tight, which should be expected because they play those songs all the time. I got to hear Halfway To Memphis and Red, which are two songs I've never heard Sammy do, so that was good.

Aaand the last song they played was Space Station #5, which is my favorite Montrose song and one that I had always hoped Chickenfoot would cover. At least I got to hear it at the same show as Chickenfoot. ;-)

One thing about Joe's set that I don't think was mentioned yet is that the band was all over the place coming out of the solo at the end of Learning To Fall. Sammy started singing the wrong lyrics but recovered nicely. I looked on YouTube, but I haven't found a video of that yet.

And Tracie, what was your mini golf score? I won with 63...my dad had 64 and Andrew had 66. I guess par would've been 54...?

Jebster - If I had to guess, that ad probably ran in previous issues of the magazine...I bet they used it again and just forgot to take out the contest details.
fatape - I'm all over the LISF DVD, as is MegaBoyd (I'm not sure if you know him...I think he stopped posting regularly before you joined the site). The best place to find me is at the end of the first disc...the camera is on me as I wipe sweat off my face, just as the picture fades out. Once you see what I look like it's easy to find me elsewhere because I'm so freakin' tall! ;-) I'm pretty visible during Always..., Friends, and FIABD, among others.

...Austin...

Hello Joe.

My Name is Carlos, i'm from Spain. I play the guitar, I started four years ago and I listened your songs for two years ago. I think that 60% of your discography is good, the better, and the remaining 40%, I love him like a son. Your music clean the garbage that is coming out at all hours in large radio and television companies. You have enriched my teenage years, musically speaking, and I am very grateful for that, all things I have are thanks to your unmatched style with the guitar, and other groups of yours former pupils, Steve Vai and Kirk Hammet. I know that without you, music would not be what has been, thank you wholeheartedly.

This is the best of me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsUA45n73-A I want Be Like you. Never be better. I hope that if ever we meet, I like to teach the lyric that I created long ago your song ''Summer Song'' ...

Greetings and good luck with the next single
