SCORPIONS, QUIET RIOT, WHITESNAKE, GUNS N' ROSES Drummers To Pay Tribute To JOHN BONHAM - Aug. 29, 2010 September 25, 2010, marks the 30th anniversary of the passing of LED ZEPPELIN drummer John Bonham. His groove and sound is considered to be the most influential of all rock-n-roll drummers; John "Bonzo" Bonham is the undisputed king. Bonzo will once again be honored in a special concert featuring rock's biggest names behind the kit at the Key Club in Hollywood, California.

On stage and for one night only, a rotating cast of guest drummers perform their favorite LED ZEPPELIN songs.

Confirmed drummers include:

* Steven Adler (GUNS N' ROSES, ADLER'S APPETITE) * Vinny Appice (BLACK SABBATH, HEAVEN & HELL, DIO) * Kenny Aronoff (JOHN COUGAR, JOHN FOGERTY) * Frankie Banali (QUIET RIOT) * Jason Bonham (LED ZEPPELIN, FOREIGNER) * Fred Coury (CINDERELLA) * Jimmy D'Anda (BULLETBOYS) * James Kottak (SCORPIONS) * Khurt Maier (SALTY DOG) * Chris Slade (THE FIRM, AC/DC) * Chad Smith (RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, CHICKENFOOT) * Brian Tichy (WHITESNAKE, FOREIGNER, BILLY IDOL) * Joe Travers (ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA, DURAN DURAN) * Simon Wright (AC/DC, DIO)

Carmine Appice (VANILLA FUDGE, ROD STEWART) will perform via video.

Joining the drummers on stage will be musicians Brent Woods (guitar), Michael "Denim" Devin (bass), Keith St. John (vocals), Stephen LeBlanc (keys) and Brian Tichy (guitar).

"Not a day goes by where I don't think of John Bonham's snare sound, and it hit me — 'Why isn't there a Bonzo tribute where every drummer gets up on a Vistalite kit, with gong and timpanis, and plays their favorite ZEPPELIN song?" co-organizer Brian Tichy, said. "I thought of all the drummers I know that worship at the alter of John Bonham and being in L.A., there are so many here."

Promoter Joe Sutton took care of the rest and has helped organize this striking tribute. His moxie for the all-mighty Bonzo and LED ZEPPELIN has never wavered.

"First and foremost, LED ZEPPELIN is the greatest band in the world and it is not a coincidence that John Bonham was the drummer," Sutton said. "Bonham's drumming is one of the main reasons that they were able to sound so huge."

Sutton continued, "I remember the day that John Bonham died; it broke my heart. Not only to lose a great man and the best drummer in the world, but to lose LED ZEPPELIN as a band was just devastating to myself and everyone I knew. So to have a chance to put together a tribute 30 years later for the almighty Bonzo I will use all of my efforts and experience to put together a very special night."

Tickets for "Bonzo: The Groove Remains The Same" can be purchased at Keyclub.com.

The Key Club is located at 9039 Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

@cheese101- It could be real. But I do know for a fact that "The Squares" was Joe's debut in a band. I not sure how long they lasted though.

Still working on the sunrise video. Hopefully should be up by tomorrow.

How many people here pre-ordered tickets?? I want to pre-order Club Joe tickets but I don't anyhwhere near 300 dollars. it's good to know that he will be playing in NYC for two nights. That spreads out the amount of people who want to go to the concert.

Joe if you are reading your e-mail. Can you release Dog with Crown and Earring on Itunes. It's such a great song not to be released except in Japan. The last time we spoke was at the Chickenfoot album signing and The Jimmy Kimmel Live Show in L.A. Devoted fan Richard with the robot. Thanks. :-).

Hey Joe. I want to know something. This is a real question. After beginning to play the guitar, how long did it take you to realize that you were really talented?? Did you ever think to yourself and say, "Wow I'm really good at this."

My uncle has been playing guitar for 4 years and he listens to your music and watches how you play. He wonders if he will be able to even reach a fraction of your abilities. I know you've been playing for quite some time and all, but you were excellent right from the start of Not Of This Earth. At that point you only had 15 years of experience which is only a small bit compared to now.

And also he wants to know: Do you have any home videos of you playing the guitar when you first started? He thinks it will give him hope if he sees that the excellent Joe Satriani was just as inexperienced as himself when he first started. lol

I think that's something everybody would like to see.

How did you turn into who you are today? There's way more to it than just practice. There's a special connection between the soul and the instrument.

Grampy Steve--6% seems like a lot to tax. The States (members of Congress) nowadays wants to take the opposite route and tax those who can least afford it, tax at a lower rate those who can afford to pay AND cut taxes to the wealthiest 150,000 people who can afford to pay their fair share and are not! This country has been turned upside down by the greedy and taken leave of common sense and the public interest. Good-by infrastructure, good-by common sense regulation and good-by high standard of living......we will become a 3rd world country within the next 20 to 25 years if things don't turn around. Enough said.

I'm feeling better since the doctor put me on an antibiotic and my Steve is reminding me to keep lookin' up and giving me lots of hugs.

Michelle--Thanks for the well wishes. I like the GoGi-- sounds Japanese. I was almost adopted by a Japanese exchange student who said he wanted to take me to Japan and give me a tour of the country. Alas, plans didn't work out. That was decades ago!

Al baby--"from that film Candyman where everyone almost died in it, :| " I read a description of that film. Yikes! That is definitely NOT my kind of movie. Didn't it give you nightmares??? I'm more into steamy films like "Don't Look Down." :-)

Now for some "Revelation" the multi-layered rock symphony!

OK, I'm on my third listen now...I really like this one. :-)

The riff is nice and heavy and makes me think of late 60s/early 70s rock...something like Mountain or Grand Funk Railroad. The song structure reminds me of If I Could Fly (a couple of verses and hooky chorus-like parts and then a big jam), so I guess we know what Coldplay's next single will sound like. :-/

I hear a lot of Searching-style craziness in here too.

I really love the fat bass sound...Allen Whitman is great! He reminds me of Matt B. a bit, but his playing is busier and I really like it. Jeff is playing a lot more too...he's all over the place (in a good way). The drum parts for the last few albums have bugged me because they're pretty plain on the recording and don't really shine until you hear them live. But this has that live creativity from the start. I hope the rest of the album is in the same vein.

I really LOVE this riff! And the bit from 3:55 to 4:15. And...everything!

:-)

Just heard Light years Away for the first time! Sounds pretty cool with a nice melody. Not as much of an insane solo as might be expected with the title but the outro is pretty other-worldly sounding.

Thought I'd mention this It's been up for a couple of weeks now, it's my first original recored to a drum track with no bass but it's a start.

I guess they decided to throw the single out there a little extra early... That's quite alright, though. I will listen to it now, I don't mind not waiting! Although I'm gonna have to call it a night after a couple play throughs and give it proper attention tomorrow. Sounds like a great track; nice energy and use of the effects. I'll break out my Koss Portapro's tomorrow and really get into it!

At least we know now that the BBW video song is not LYA... I guess we will find out when the countdown begins which song it actually is..
Anyway, time for bed- Goodnight all, I'll be Light Years Away for a few hours!

Just cut my hair from over a foot long to under 4 inches, and shaved my mustache and goatee clean off. Feeling like a brand new man and look about 5 years younger everyone says.

Btw, Light Years Away is truly Kick Ass.

Shedding the 80's rocker/metalhead putting on the modern rocker, all good as chapters of life go by.
