DTS- was a nightmare getting pre sale tix. My girl joined U2's site for $50 to get access code for pre-sale. Put the code in, all went well, ticketek allotted some seats, went one step back to check where the seats were, only to return to the purchase screen to find the code was now invalid. Jumped onto a forum to fond out it was happening all over. Next step was I joined U2's site for $50 to get another pre-sale code. This time round we just just took what they gave us.

You're more than welcome cheese! I'm glad that at least one person read my post. :0) Let me know if it doesn't work for you, we'll figure something out.

Been binging on Joe heavily for the past few days, I put the entire discography on my clip and let it play on random until it runs out... takes something like 14 hours total (I listen for just over 8 hours a day while working/driving) before I have to press play again and start over.

Of course I still need at least one listen of Fuzz Nation at some point too... boy howdee that album has really grabbed me by the nads.Anyone else addicted to it?

smooches,

Pip - Yeah i was wondering ok do i keep going but didn't know much about it how rare if it was legit etc
I guess it is legit if you also have a copy of the same 2 cd + dvd set i went looking thru Roo's website but couldn't find anything on it so didn't even know what i was buying apart from the fact it was Satch with Deep Purple and he also plays Satch Boogie so i was like OK might have a bid on this :) :)

Very nice tune you got there young fella. A lot of the harmonies remind me of Michael Schenker(think"Adventures of the Imagination"album) there's some Joe influence and even a hint of Vai in there too. All in all it's a damn fine effort mate.Keep it up!

Shannon We'd love to see you and Freddy in Tahoe. After you buy your tickets, then you need the hotel. Since you're coming from so far away you probably want to drive down Friday and stay for two nights, so you need to book a hotel for Friday and Saturday night. Last time, I think I remember you got your room in Carson City, Nevada...but you can also try for South or North Lake Tahoe.

Try www.hotwire.com for a room for check-in on Sept 10, check out on Sept 12....I just searched for South Lake Tahoe, NV and also Carson City, NV and Reno, NV...there are rooms all over the place so it depends on how much you want to spend. The down side to using this website is you can't get a refund if you have to cancel. So you can also try www.hotels.com or www.kayak.com to compare a bunch of sites at once.

Food can take care of itself on the road :) Last year we all ate in Tahoe at Sammy's Cabo Wabo and everyone loved it!

I really hope we see you there! I can't remember if Freddy got my cell # last year or not but if you have it, give us a holler when you arrive and look for us in line...we hope to be at or very near the front! Good luck and email me or Austin with questions :)

PIP - hey dude.. just checked my mails.. all sorted and replied to..
for anyone else that may be interested - cos I know there's a few players here..
PIP and I were talking about my new guitars
I'm no longer playing Ibanez guitars
last year I switched to the Morgan Guitar Works V6
you can see them here
Morgan Guitar Works V6
they play and sound amazing..
but don't be fooled by the body shape cos they are nothing like Flying V's. They play and sound like a super-Strat that ust happens to have a V shaped body..

I have the Mod Factor. I mostly use the slight detune function... gives a slightly fatter sound. The other harmonized functions (dropping a 3rd, for example) requires some very specific application/chord sequencing as it sounds too 'off' for me for the most part. The Crystals effect is nice... but again, limited use.

just heard Light Years Away through headphones.

my take right now is it's ok, but nothing fantastic. Seems kind of reminiscent of the Nascar samples he did a few years ago or maybe Chickenfoot without the punch. Maybe thats what he's going for on this but I almost feel like Sammy's gonna come in at any minute and start singing over it, and then...well he doesn't. And joe really doesn't take a soaring lead over it much so it seems to just hang mid tempo. Just kinda playing in the pocket?

I read somewhere on the net to expect more outta Premonition and Wormhole wizards, so well see.

BTW anyone else notice there's no Black Swans song on the disc? maybe it will be a bonus song somewhere....

oh, on diff note, I noticed they've been using a version of House Full of Bullets on Sportscenter highlights. Except it's not Joe just someone covering it, so I wonder how that works license wise for Joe? I imagine it costs less to license the music vs. the actual original recording. Anyway, its a sloppier version but definitely HFOB.

I'm sorry for not getting the video up yet because it is taking much longer than it actually should. Hopefully within two days. Even though I said that a few days ago.

@Crystal Jammer- Isn't it considered stealing if they are using HFOB on their show regardless if somebody is covering or not?? I mean it isn't Youtube where people just put songs on all the time. Television has more rules when it comes to copyright infringement. Light Years Away has a good groove, nice powerful riffs, and a nice solo which has some fusion in it, which Joe doesn't usually venture into. But he did a nice job with it. It also had a hip-hop drum beat which I have never heard in a Satriani song before. But he did say a little bit of hip-hop would even be in the album. Although I personally like the song a lot, I sorta get what you're saying by it being ok, because it only has two different riffs, a short melody, and one solo. You think it sounds ok, because it is in a very simple form, which I understand. But his other song, It's So Good was in a simple form, but it's one of my favorites.

Here's Joe exact quote about It's So Good: "It was exciting to craft this one because there are layers of guitar- rhythm, melody, solo- but it's built around a simple chord pattern. It just felt so right. The groove was so deep. Some Bob Marley songs are like that: They're so powerful, yet when you look at them you go, 'Oh, my God, everyone is playing so little!' Then, once the lyric is added, it becomes a really strong statement. But, since this is an instrumental, I tried to find unique, fun sounds for all the guitars that would pull it all together in that same way."

Simple isn't always mediocre. It depends on the sound of the song. But don't I'm trying to disprove your opinion, because I can understand where you're coming from with your statement.
