Joe! Looking forward to seeing you play with Chickenfoot in Tahoe! My Step dad and I are driving all the way from Grants Pass Oregon. Its rare that a 56 and 17 year old can have the same band! Chickenfoot!

Also cant wait to hear Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards!

Michelle- Temporary replacement drummer would be okay (I guess) before their new record drops...but after they record the new one I think it would take a bit of the shine off ...especially if it was tour after new record w/replacement drummer.

And if for some reason some one had to take JOES place...... well........it would not be CHICKENFOOT to me ...kinda how I feel about CHAD missing too though.

I did not know ZZ could play multiple instruments ...although I should not be surprised . :-)

Hi Joe (and band)

If you you ever read this my name is Gabriel and I would to know more about the music industry today. (As you have already guessed by now yes I want to "make it" as a musician/band). I usually find a lot general info on the net + book, but It is had to find specific step-by-step-how-to guidelines.

I think that asking someone who is already in the music business (like yourself) could provide me with great insights on how to achieve this goal. I would really appreciate it... thanks

Questions Nowadays: what is the main thing(s) I should focus when trying to make a record (eg. should I try to develop contacts within music companies and if so how do I do that if I've never met them before)?

Pretty much what I'm trying to say is the following: I If you guys were to find yourself in my shoes with all your knowledge about the music industry what would you do to "make it"?

I'd like to have specific answers as much as possible....

Gabriel

I'm with Peace Lily when it comes to Chickenfoot...if Chad is busy for a while, I say keep Chickenfoot on hiatus. Come back to the project when everyone is free...in the meantime, Sammy can do another album with the Wabos. Joe and Sammy clearly have chemistry together as songwriters, and I'd love to see that continue...but don't call it Chickenfoot if Chad isn't there.

campbell - I created a T2J group on Facebook a few years ago. Join it here, and then you'll find a few dozen friends you can add. :-)
JesseKennemer - Send me an email with your phone number...I'll do my best to say hello at the gig next week.
roo - I'm following you on Ping now. I don't know how much I'll use it, as I've only ever purchased one song from iTunes (Satch's Tumble). I use it as the primary music player on my computer, though, so if there's a way to link my catalog to Ping it could be useful. We'll see.

Austin- I sent a request to join the T2J FB group, just so you know.

I'm with you guys; no Chad, no Chickenfoot. I'm running on the assumption that he will be with them in Tahoe next week. If not, I'm gonna be pretty bummed.

I haven't checked the CF site lately, anybody know who's opening for them?

*EDIT- Just checked; it's Aaron Hagar and the Wabos.

turbo236 - I just added you to the group, and sent a friend request.

And yes, Chad will be playing the two shows with Chickenfoot next week. According to Ticketmaster, Sammy's son Aaron is the opening act (he's opened for Sammy in the past). The opener is actually listed as "Aaron Hagar and the Wabos," so I guess that means he's playing with Sammy's usual backing band. That could be pretty cool.

EDIT - And you found the info on the opener before I finished my post, haha...

Listening to: Shinedown - Leave A Whisper (current song: 45 (Acoustic))

Do the Stu - thank you so much for leaving the gate open for me you truly are a gem, however I agonised for 24 hrs(especially since Peace said she was going and I REALLY want to meet you Peace) in the end I decided not to make the request for Napa to my family. I know they would have said yes and done everything they could have to get me there (and it IS my birthday week) but I recently crashed my car, which was my fault, and I have to buy a new one and I couldn't ask for something else at the moment. It aint cheap to get to the States from Australia so I'll wait for a tour next year.

So, GOOD LUCK to all my T2J friends in the pre-sale in 8 or so hours, I hope you all get tickets to Napa and have a great time, I'll be thinking of you all rockin out in that groovy little theatre hearing all of Joe's new BSAWW Batch of heaven, and will devour the pics and vids etc when you get back.

I'm sure I'll see you all on some youtube vids too so wave big and wave hard at Skippy 'kay?

roo - glad you think the LP was worth more than that :0). Hope you get to Napa too, give Joe a hug for me pls.

And so it's Friday night, time to kick back and relax, houseful of teenage girls at the moment which is just how I like it.

I couldn't imagine Chickenfoot really going on without Chad unless Chad has just told them he isn't down with the struggle. He might have told them that they may be better off moving on without him because of his own schedule. If Chad is going to be tied up until the 2012 timeframe, then it would be a bit selfish to hold the band back if they really wanted to get in studio and cut a new album. Who knows. I'll believe it when I see it though. That drum kit has stamped it's sound on the band.

If Chad was to be replaced, I'd vote Stewart Copeland! Love to see him and Joe tear it up on stage!

Roo - How is the new Ping? Have you seen a lot of professional artists on there yet?

morning all from the east coast! sitting waiting for Earl to come and give my boss lots of business so when i get past this little pneumonia thing i can make some big $$$$.

gotta say Chickenfoot without Chad is like peanut butter and jelly without the bread. like a waborita without the lime juice. like rock without the roll. it might sound ok but it aint Chickenfoot. they could call themselves Chicken cause Chad provides the FOOT!!

like hybes said, Chad may say its ok to go on without him, but it just wouldn't be the same. so JOE just say NO!

to all you lucky people going to see Joe or CF on this tour, i hope you have the best time ever and make sure you party extra hard for those of us who can't be there!!!

Ibanezplyr - Randell, your last post to the K girl came to mind today when I was playing with my grandson! We were playing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes". I thought of you playing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and .........". I had to chuckle but then felt slightly guilty, hope you're doing a little better these days.

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is doing well. I had a lot of things on my plate for the past month or so. Work, running, and family/friends/personal business.

Work is going good. I have to go in later tonight because one of my workers got suspended. Last week, another worker got suspended for arriving late for who knows how many times. I pretty much work tonight, Sunday night, and Monday morning, so my Labor Day looks filled there. As for my work at the guitar store, I have decided to take a leave from that and go inactive, due to work at my job at the Marriott. Smart move on my part because I have my benefits & insurance with that hotel.

Running is going well. I'll be running in the Parlor City Trot 10-Miler in Bluffton, Indiana this Saturday. My folks and one of my best friends will be coming along to cheer me on so that makes me really happy.

Just to let you know, I have already signed up for the Veterans Marathon in November, the Huff 50K (Ultramarathon) this December, and for next year's Indy Mini-Marathon. I am also going to try to get in the Boston, Chicago, and New York City Marathons for 2011 this year.

I did listen to Light Years Away and a sample of God is Crying. Excellent songs! I also pre-ordered BSAWW as well.

Chickenfoot without Chad? Wow, that's a surprise right there. I'm sure that Joe, Sammy, Michael, and Chad, and the staff will come up with something.

Axeshredderjc: Glad you got the card and gift man. Really glad that you liked it.

DistortedSoul: Congrats on getting the tickets to see Joe. FYI, next May, I'll be in Indy again for the Mini-Marathon. If you want to meet up, let me know.

Don1963: Glad work is going well for you. It's going good for me as well.

Bluebuffalo & Jstatearnthewind: Best to the both of you. Sending positive vibes your way.

Won't be able to see Joe perform because of the runs/races I signed up for. One of them (the Huff 50K) is going to discontinue after this year. Therefore, this is the last one ever.

Hope everyone here is well. Congrats to those who are going to see Joe/Chickenfoot. Hope you all enjoy yourselves. Might be in the chatroom for a little bit, if anyone wants to join. Take care peeps. \mXm/

Grant

Woohoo...we scored some great seats for the Napa gig! :-)

Here's a seating chart. We're all in center orchestra row D (I'll email everyone in a moment). Tracie and I placed separate orders, and there is only one seat between our groups, so we'll be really close to everyone after all.

Awesome! Thanks to everyone on T2J for crossing your fingers for us. And thanks to Joe and webmaster Jon for the presale.

EDIT - Turns out it's only one seat between our groups. I hope whoever has seat 111 is prepared for the craziness.
