Maybe that is the right answer.

gottahavejoe: LOL, you really are involved with Joe & his music.

Distorted Soul: Thanks. Now I have to wait and see/hear from them. Keep the fingers crossed.

Do The Stu: Thanks Austin. I already heard it when scubadaz posted it. Glad you had fun seeing Chickenfoot in Tahoe.

Cheese101: You're welcome and again, glad you & Chris had fun seeing Joe & Chickenfoot. Hope Chris is better; keep us posted.

Michelle: After hearing that storm, now I heard their was a possible tornado. Do you know what really happened? Keep us posted on it.

turbo236: Ian, I agree with you on what you said. Wow, 40 years since the unexpected death of Jimi Hendrix. May he continue to rest in peace, and his spirit live on.

So I just listened to Talk To Me for the very first time, I can't even believe there was a song that made it under my radar! Especially for this many years! Wow... Joe sure has come a long way! LOL! That ending sure sounds familiar though.... all the way "Back" To Shalla-Bal.......

edit: Also, WTF is this? I've read all the yada yada about it being an improv tune by him and Jan Cyrka called Heart Of The Sun but I saw somewhere else that this title is not correct, does anyone have the skinny on it?

smooches,
» Phył

40 years ago from this date, a legendary musician died. His music was unique and different from any other that was made during the time. He took everyhting to the extreme to see how it would turn out. From plugging in 4 Fuzztones at a time, to lighting his guitar on fire on stage. From creating a song that emphasized the beautuful effects of feedback, to using the wah pedal like no other guitarist has before.

Passing away at only 28 years of age, his name was Jimi Hendrix.

Now many guitarists were inspired by Hendrix's innovation and skill. But one of his most dedicated fans was inspired to become a guitarist, just like him. His name, as we all know, is Joe Satriani.

Jimi's death affected the entire course of his life. And now he has been playing guitar for 40 years, has had 12 successful albums, working on 13, and has been around the world many times seeing and performing for his millions of fans. And on top of all that, he is still a humbled, down-to-earth, all-around great person.

One decision, changing one lifetime.

Never underestimate the power of a decision.

Thank You, Joe. For all of your music.

R.I.P- Jimi Hendrix He will not be forgotten

In 1983 a post freshman moving onto a sophomore in high school and knowing all and not able to listen to reason like most teenagers. lol

I waited all year for Jimi to return as "a merman I should turn out to be." Didn't materialize, but I did play the song then as I do now.

Here is another memory of Jimi. The first time I heard "House Burning Down" specifically the intro. It was so incredible and I had never heard anything like it before. It scared me so I hit rewind on my cassette and played it again several times to make sure it was real. Thanks Jimi

Joe, I was just remembering that at the aftershow in Reno, 2008, I passed on to you a Hendrix sweatshirt on behalf of Mahavishnu (Brian). It was a gift from him to you.

If u can find it, it's a good day to put it on and snuggle down in it :) I dunno if it's cold in San Fran, but it sure is here! And it's a day to especially remember Jimi. Just a random thought I had. Brian is a very generous guy :)

Phydeaux_3 - That improv song was originally done for a guitar magazine, I believe. The name Heart Of The Sun comes from the caption of a photo of Joe working in the studio. It said something like "Joe sets the controls for the Heart Of The Sun."...I guess the person who first spread the file around online missed out on the Pink Floyd reference and thought that was the name of the improv.

I have an MP3 of the backing track, if you're interested.

I have about as hard of a time picking a favorite Jimi song as I do picking a favorite Joe song. There is something great about each and every one of them. A couple that stand out for me, though, are All Along The Watchtower, The Wind Cries Mary, and Machine Gun live from the Fillmore East.

I'm sure I could list a lot more if I went through my Hendrix music and picked some out, but those three have been on my mind all day.
