Slackers??? Nah...the show ran late because after about six songs, the smoke machines set off the fire alarm! We had to evacuate...I blame Sammy Hagar and his "Smoke" nickname for Joe. ;-)
Tracie took a picture of the setlist; I'll wait for her to post it in full. But we got Why, Memories, War, Crystal Planet, and Big Bad Moon in addition to the standards and maybe seven BSAWW songs. It was a great mix of everything, and Why is my favorite Satch song so I'm happy.
More from me later, when I'm on a computer instead of my phone.
EDIT - Oh, and our webmaster has some awesome purple hair! I think Tracie was able to get a picture...haha.

Hey Joe,
The new album is an amzing accomplishment. I really feel you pulled a Black Swan! There is so much diversity, & melody, & the tone is very articulate. But I have one question.
Why didn'nt the folks (like me) that pre-ordered the CD get the 2 bonus tracks? I mean I really feel that as much support & promotion that I have done over the years, & that I will continue to do being as that I am a Guitar Teacher. I would love to have those 2 extra trks instead of having to pay more for them. I will if I have to, but we who pre-orderd already paid more for our disc than if we download the whole album or buy it at BB. We still love you Joe. I just know your about pleasing your fans. And allot of them are upset about not getting those trks. Longing made me have goosebumps. It would be cool if sent us alink to download them for free. Don't think we don't appreciate the signed jackets, becasue we do. But the music is what we all want. We always want more SATCH!! Thanks Joe for your love of music. Sincerely,

Nice!!! I never thought Joe would sing again, so it's nice to see BBM on the list, as well as Memories. I'm relieved that I didn't miss DWCAE, but a little worried that it may spend another tour collecting dust.

AWESOME NEW ALBUM!
I've heard it ever since it came out, but my memory still hasn't worked it entirely over to match each song with its title or to remember most parts.
Joe made his point when he said it would be a different side of himself show over there, which would still impress the fans in a positive way! Thanks for the work, Satriani!

DTS - Thanks for the partial setlist.. looks absolutely incredible! I'd already read at Keneally's FB wall about the fire alarm fiasco during War.
scuba - thanks for the uToob links, they're still the only ones up there yet, really funny hearing Joe making fun of the alarm sound. Somebody else said he played the first few chords of Smoke On The Water too when they finally got back to playing.

...Hey... I was rideing all morning hey man the ATK was pretty well empty so I had to use my 5 gallon can she took the whole! thing !!man!! it was nuts then I waled the 1 mile to the she station with the big can filler her with fuel andoil acarried it it,s about a mile and a half home!.Now the usual gas can paind it, makes you have a real weird pooh man you here me.I like my fuel out of a can hey you get better fuel milegae for some reason in the ATK man my daughetr Shelly has been coming around hey she watched me get the gas a carrie it home she came here or money Oh shellys cool she put,s special food on hold from butchers hey man and tell,sthem she,s going to her dads to get the moneys Your going To franks okay It,s all yours it will be here for you!!Is the way it works hey she only eats special meat man in private!it,s pretty much delicasie anyways took my meds took a regualr acetamniophren for the gas can pain shes the ATK is full to the brim again May have to take some with codeine though will wait a while just too see anyways later wolf2.

I'm leaving Napa in an hour hopefully, then driving 400 miles to Best Buy and then another 30 miles or so home. I'm kind of crazy.

Has anyone outside the US been able to buy the bonus tracks from Napster? I'm in Canada and doesn't seem to work for me. Dammit, why couldn't they make the tracks available through iTunes as well?! Best buy grumble grumble .....

well i was miffed that my pre-order got cancelled but the good news is a fellow Metclubber has picked up 2 copies of the new album from Best Buy for me ^_^ i really want those bonus tracks. so i'm very fortunate to have someone in the US willing to do that for me... i can't even get my butt to JB Hifi for the MetallicA tour ep >=:/ meh! darn cold!
Joe Satriani - you know how i like to paint? ... i'm the chick who gives you a painting each time you visit Perth... yeah, that one. well, guess what? I SOLD A PAINTING! \m/^_^\m/ here it is the first painting that i've ever sold 'The Life Of A Christian'

It's crazy the list of older songs he's playing, and WHY is absolutely one of my favorites too.
I hadn't been on the board since last night, and just a short while ago I put the Not of This Earth album on after listening to some Dethklok.... quite hilarious considering Hordes of Locusts is on that one, and no joke... about 20 seconds after reading your post, Memories started playing.
I'm really anxious to see which songs from BSAWW will be included.

Joe and the band. Mature and restrained playing, sound is nicely textured, compositions are engaging. Absolutely LOVE the two extra tracks. Can't imagine the disc without them. Huge fan of Mermen, nice touch bringing Allen into the lineup and Mike's keys are "instrumental" in giving the CD the space and texture that will have fans and critics listing Black Swans as one of your best CDs. It should go without saying that you and Jeff are always in sync.
