It saddens me a little to see people complaining about not getting the bonus tracks, especially the people who got autographed copies. This is not the first time there have been extra tracks made available AFTER the initial release, Joe has done this with the last few releases. It's not the end of the world. I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that all of the details were made abundantly clear BEFORE any of the ordering took place? (I know that I knew.)
I've seen a lot of hardcore fans ordering multiple copies and still going to the BestBuy for another or three to get their bonus tracks. I know that we're not all made of money, but most of us can afford the measly coupla bucks to download JUST the bonus tracks, and most of us now have the ability to burn our own CD's (1 for the car, 1 for the kitchen, 1 for the bedroom, etc.) so it's not all that difficult to make your own CD copy and add the bonus tracks on at the end.

Its' just that, to me, this is an extraordinary album, and to be bickering about a few tiny marketing details detracts from just appreciating the brilliant, masterful work of art that it is.

I'll quote the great comedian Steven Wright:
"You can't have everything.... where would you put it?!"

Hey Joe, greetings from Holland once again. Been following you as always and found out some interesting things. First of all: the new record of course, duhhh! haha Got it for my birthday, as well as a ticket to the Tilburg show, november 1st, ah yeah! I also saw on youtube that you went for a stroll through Tilburg on the Satchafunkilus tour, you really should do that again this tour! I will be strolling too and looking for you, I AM NOT KIDDING :-)

Also added myself to the attend show list. I didn't upload a set list of favorites, because i honestly like (and own! haha) every song you ever made :-)

Anyway, I hope i can meet you for a quick autograph/photo soon then. Sure hope you read this!!! It would mean a lot to me, seeing that I would frame the picture and hang it in my room, RESPECT haha

All the best kicking off the tour, I will be waving in front row my friend!

Rock on,

D777

Hmmm, maybe its just me, but the setlist is kinda disappointing. 10 of the songs appeared on the Live in Paris DVD and apart from the new album, I've seen Joe play the others live over the years.

I was hoping he would pull some that haven't been played before. I realise there are people that haven't seen Joe live before and want to hear this stuff, but for me, I'd rather sit at home and watch the regular songs on DVD, better view and better sound. Not so keen now on travelling up to London and all the hassle of getting there, just for half the new album and the regular songs

Oh well....rant over !

How come the NYC venue is listed as "Nokia Theater" - but the tickets I just bought for Dec. 14th show state it's going to be the "Best Buy theater"?...

@Phydeaux_3

I can't follow, why it saddens you. Are you a sony employee ? :-)
See, I already paid the price for more than 2 CDs... So I really do not want to buy another one. And even if I would, tell me where? There is no BestBuy over here (I hate discounters anyway, but thats an other story). So buy online? Don't tell me napster, thats US only afaik.
Don't get me wrong: I love the new album, I think its friggin awesome! But I also really like the bonus tracks, at least what I could hear from the podcast. I haven't even had the possibility to hear them in full length ... That's what saddens me.

@ Urbzz,

Bonus tracks are on Youtube if you search, not great quality, but at least you can hear them all the way through.

Hangman, just stay home.

Got God Is Crying on volume 50!!!! up in here! WOOOOEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

Just shakin' the dust out people, settle down! :-)

urbzz, sucks, don't it. Most of us bought the pre=ordered cd, only to find out later that aaaanother cd was being released with 2 bonus tracks. That's just bad bullshit on the record companies part to me. We all paid extra.

I could be wrong, but some songs are more challenging to play live than others. It may be an issue of what people want to hear (and like you, I've seen many of the set list stuff on DVD and would like to hear some of the more obscure stuff), but some songs really are studio works.

I miss 'Wind in the Trees' in the setlist
I hope it's included in the eurogigs
But I like 'Revelation' and 'Andalusia' stay from the PSATMOR tour
I guess the perfect setlist would mean a > 24h show. Poor Joe !!!

Fido 2.4 - Well said.

After the last two albums I decided to wait until I heard the whole of BSAWW before buying. I fully intend buying it now, I reckon it's Joes best work for some time, possibly his best period. I'm now looking into the possibility of one of my Americam friends getting the 'Best Buy' version for me and shipping it to me. I'm sure I can find a way of reimbursing them be it Paypal or some other way.

Oh! I'll play! First Joe show:
July 16/1990 - Ottawa Congress Centre
The "Dreaming In A Blue World" tour.
Simply amazing. Stu was killing. All around excellent show.

Also, about the current set, I'm with the "more BSAWW" crowd, but holy canoley! That set plays out at just under 2 hours, and Joe covers a LOT of ground.. my perfect setlist is 30 songs, and although I can dream about it, it isn't very darned likely to happen. I chopped mine into 2 sets (with a "break" for Joe), the second being almost all of BSAWW in it's entirety, but that makes (at least for me) a gigantic first set of fast & brutal tunes. *droool*
Expecting Joe to be able to put on the Superman outfit every night might be asking just a little bit too much, maybe a 1-off show to shoot a DVD or something, an "evening with Joe" big event, THAT would be something!

p.s. Wolfy.. careful riding with your hammer in your hand there buddy!

When I heard "Black Swans..." the first time... I thought... well, it's good, but not great. But after more listening, I must say... it's awesome!!!!!!!

The BEST Satriani album since "Crystal Planet" I love the keyboard textures.... great bass playing and the wonderful guitar playing by Satch. Oh well... Jeff... where are the fills? Your drumming was better on other recordings.

Anyway... I can't stop listen to "Black Swans..." a great album!

He might not thank me for this but here goes:

Mike SB (often called Scooby Doo by me) has recently lost his father after a rather tough time of it. I reckon that any prayers and/or good vibes in the general direction of the Blackburn family can only be of help. A good fellow is Mike, I feel for you pal.

PS Mike is currently posting under a different soubriquet.

I honestly don't think I can wait till JAN. to see my first Joe 'solo' concert. And i CANNOT believe I HAVE to say my FIRST. how sad.... :( Ive been a very very VERY naughty fan. I beat myself up when I relize all the shows I've missed out on. Stuuuuuupid. :'( But, happy, happy, happy he is still here with us, cranking out the jams, and sounding so brilliant and that I even GET the chance to see him play. Not to mention, ugh, ugh, ugh, thud... he is gorgeous... He has the most warm, humungous blue stunning eyes i have ever seen. and that smile, just melts my heart....yeah, agreed, an aura ...Wow,. He really looks just sooo angelic. And not just in the way he is attuned to you (which is always a wonderful thing when meeting someone you admire!) But When he takes off those sunglasses (and I was so happy he left them off last night at the Cd signing) and let's us see his smiling big bright eyes, God I just melt. I can say that about one other artist I admire, but honestly-joey- let me tell you, he has got something even more brilliant going on. And he looks just FANTASTIC, absolutely GREAT for his age! Did I already say that on another post? Don't remember now, but the guy behind me in line last night said Joe looks better now, than he did at 38! Okaaaaay-----sigh, sorry people, I just have to tell "somebody" let that all out, what better place than here on his fan board. I cannot help it, I seriously cannot. lol. , I just have to say it. ... i shall stop now, thanks for listening! I need my JoJo fix!!!!! I played my Black Swans cd over and over and over and over and over again last night. It is AMAAAAAZIIIIIIIINGGGG!!!!!!! Im gonna TRY and play to a few songs later, the more easier parts. (I feel I will just end up really frustrated with trying to play to his stuff, But im gonna try anyways). And throw in my Satch Lesson Dvd that accompanies the Guitar World issue due out in Dec. I thought that was really cool last night, they made it available for him to sign. 2 months early, very cool! :)

Mikesb--My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Tracie--I'm excited about Oakland show in January....When you said DON"T MISS THIS TOUR! I am so looking forward to seeing Joe and his band. The songs on BSAWW are so incredibly unique and sound so individual.......a musical story in each one! How generous to share sweet memories of his mom! What a son, a brother......an all around beautiful human being!

Joe, Thank you, thank you, thank you for an extraordinary album. Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards is a portrait in time and yet also timeless! I can't listen to it often enough.
