If anyone is listening.....wanted to share that also tonight at the signing in LA was Guitar World's December issue for Joe to sign (he is featured on the cover) and heads up. It is a very deeply felt introspective interview, behind many new song, and the music "shredding" concepts. My favorite song, the entrancing eastern-flavored "Golden Room" and the beautiful "Little Worth Lane" odes to his Mom. .........My condolences to you Joe. A really great, personal interview with some really nice pictures. And for you guitar enthusiasts like myself- a Satriani lesson to feast our hands and ears on. yes! Im breaking into it tommrow.

Joe, please play "THE GOLDEN ROOM" on your tour. What a beautifully fantastic, hypnotic composition. It's gorgeous. And "ASIK VAYSEL" from your last. So amazing... makes me lose all subconciousness. Thank You Joe, for your inspiration. and for sending your love back out to us.

Hey hi joe ( umm hey joe I FEEL A SONG COMING ON ) this is pete in the uk, I understand you have seen my son on you tube under ( ben eat that joe ) and you got back to him with some comments, thanks for that it meat a lot to him.Now heres the question we are coming to see your show at the Colston Hall in Bristol on the 18th of this month and I was just wondering if it would be possable for me to bring him back stage to meet you and hopefully inspire him some more and to get up off his lazy ass and put his own band together.I'm sure this might help do the trick.I look forward to your reply and hope you have a great tour looking forward too seeing you then cheers Pete . Could the setlist be any more awesome ? It sounds amazing. Really glad to hear that Revelation and Andulasia stayed in the set and putting Hordes of Locusts and Memories in there is a nice touch too.

I saw a vid of Premonition and it was awesome, you look great out there Joe and you sound even better.

In our enthousiasm for creative force Keneally having a little space in Joe's music, aren't we forgetting Allen Whitman in our praise for a job perfectly done????!!! Allen's playing and sound fit in so well it's almost like it's not there. But let's say HURRAY for Allen Whitman!

THANK YOU TRACIE!

Jon - the chat won't work for me either.. just keep on getting the little bouncing ball forever, with some kind of error message super-imposed over the 'connecting to www.satriani.com' text.

Hi Joe,

First I would like to thank you for being a wonderful inspiration for over 20 years!

My question is regaurding composing. When you write a very melodic song like "Surfing" or "If I could fly" or "Summer song", do you come up with the melody line first, then write the chord progression to accompany, or the chord progression first, then the melody line?

The new CD is fantastic! Looking foreward to catching you in Los Angeles Jan 2011.

Thanks again, Paul

Rhythmsteady, Joe just got it like dat, lol! I dunno how he does it, but he has a way about him that makes u feel like the two of you are the only ones around. He's very focused on the person speaking to him, very attuned...and you feel it...an aura...magic...whatever it is, he's unique :) And he has an amazing memory. So yeah....glad you enjoyed, LOL!!!

Brian, niiiiiice photogs u got there, lol!! And the link to that pro's shots....u don't need my pics at all :) Except maybe the one of you and Joe, and the one of webby Jon's purple hair spikes...we must put that up for posterity. I'll email you your pic, prolly this weekend, more traveling to do today so home late tonight.

Oh, while we were standing outside chatting with Joe, a nice couple walked up and the guy was like..."you're Joe Satriani, right?" I bet Joe hears that a bazillion times a year, LOL! Anyway, they were very sweet, the guy is about to be shipped overseas in January, so I asked if they'd like a picture with Joe. They didn't have their camera with them, but I took a pic and got their email addy and will send to them both. For awhile I couldn't find it and was panicked....but it turned up during the unpacking, so I'm happy :) Ya just gotta have a pic to remember a moment such as that!!

K...back to reality, work is calling....I need to send emails to a couple other peeps here, will get to it tomorrow...carry on the good Joe-vibes peeps!!

Edit: PS, HAPPY BIRTHDAY A. GOOD!!!!

I am sorry guys, I have to tell you this, but I am totally pissed about the new Album! Totally!! I'd like to know how you guys think about it:
I was waiting a long time for this new Album, I was so eager to get it, that I preordered the autographed CD from satriani.com to Germany.
Well that was a big mistake as I found out now. I haven't bought a CD in years and I assure you I will never every buy one again! So what happened? Well, as a big Joe-Fan I thought ordering the CD from the website paying a lot more than in the stores I would be some kind of "1st class" customer. That means to me:
1) I get the CD BEFORE or at least at the SAME TIME it is available everywhere else. Well, I got it yesterday and that is a few days late. Well, could be worse. Maybe customs have been holding it back, but the worst thing for me is:
2) Why are the bonus tracks NOT included on the authographed, preordered CD? Why? So i have to buy ANOTHER CD to get them?? What is going on here??

I paid $14.99 PLUS shipping costs of $7.99. Thats a TOTAL OF $22.98 for this CD! Thats $13 more than everywhere else. I get it later than anybody else AND I am missing 2 tracks? I really don't believe this. Please help me out and tell me this is a joke or something.

I could get over the delay, but I really can't get over the fact that they sent me the CD WITHOUT the bonus tracks for that price. No way, sorry JOE, that is NOT ok.

I am kinda annoyed Ice 9 and Satch Boogie are on the setlist. I like them but if you search it on youtube you get like a thousand videos, but if you search Souls of Distortion, you can't find a single video live. and Joe's post on the setlist said A Train Of Angels, Ceremony, Crushing Day, Love Thing and Circles but I didn't see them on the actual setlist. -sad, dissapointed face- I was hoping to see Souls of Distortion, A Train of Angels, Crushing Day and Ceremony.

and this tour is for the new album but you left out wind in the trees, golden room, solitude, and two sides to every story.

Does Joe really start our with Hordes of Locusts? I would guarentee he would start with either Premonition or God Is Crying. and I would switch summersong with big bad moon, summersong is the perfect end to a concert.

So does Joe sing the same as he did when big bad moon was released?

And Tracie, you can buy beanies? like Joe's? i gotta bring an extra $25 Any autographed posters? I wanna collect autographs from him. I am only at 5 right now (two CDs a poster, Live in Paris DVD and my guitar) I hope to hit 100 before I die.

So Joe plays in America, then Europe, then back to America?

Cannot wait for the Chicago concert in December.

It saddens me a little to see people complaining about not getting the bonus tracks, especially the people who got autographed copies. This is not the first time there have been extra tracks made available AFTER the initial release, Joe has done this with the last few releases. It's not the end of the world. I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure that all of the details were made abundantly clear BEFORE any of the ordering took place? (I know that I knew.)
I've seen a lot of hardcore fans ordering multiple copies and still going to the BestBuy for another or three to get their bonus tracks. I know that we're not all made of money, but most of us can afford the measly coupla bucks to download JUST the bonus tracks, and most of us now have the ability to burn our own CD's (1 for the car, 1 for the kitchen, 1 for the bedroom, etc.) so it's not all that difficult to make your own CD copy and add the bonus tracks on at the end.

Its' just that, to me, this is an extraordinary album, and to be bickering about a few tiny marketing details detracts from just appreciating the brilliant, masterful work of art that it is.

I'll quote the great comedian Steven Wright:
"You can't have everything.... where would you put it?!"

Hey Joe, greetings from Holland once again. Been following you as always and found out some interesting things. First of all: the new record of course, duhhh! haha Got it for my birthday, as well as a ticket to the Tilburg show, november 1st, ah yeah! I also saw on youtube that you went for a stroll through Tilburg on the Satchafunkilus tour, you really should do that again this tour! I will be strolling too and looking for you, I AM NOT KIDDING :-)

Also added myself to the attend show list. I didn't upload a set list of favorites, because i honestly like (and own! haha) every song you ever made :-)

Anyway, I hope i can meet you for a quick autograph/photo soon then. Sure hope you read this!!! It would mean a lot to me, seeing that I would frame the picture and hang it in my room, RESPECT haha

All the best kicking off the tour, I will be waving in front row my friend!

Rock on,

Hmmm, maybe its just me, but the setlist is kinda disappointing. 10 of the songs appeared on the Live in Paris DVD and apart from the new album, I've seen Joe play the others live over the years.

I was hoping he would pull some that haven't been played before. I realise there are people that haven't seen Joe live before and want to hear this stuff, but for me, I'd rather sit at home and watch the regular songs on DVD, better view and better sound. Not so keen now on travelling up to London and all the hassle of getting there, just for half the new album and the regular songs

Oh well....rant over !

I can't follow, why it saddens you. Are you a sony employee ? :-)
See, I already paid the price for more than 2 CDs... So I really do not want to buy another one. And even if I would, tell me where? There is no BestBuy over here (I hate discounters anyway, but thats an other story). So buy online? Don't tell me napster, thats US only afaik.
Don't get me wrong: I love the new album, I think its friggin awesome! But I also really like the bonus tracks, at least what I could hear from the podcast. I haven't even had the possibility to hear them in full length ... That's what saddens me.

@ Urbzz,

Bonus tracks are on Youtube if you search, not great quality, but at least you can hear them all the way through.
