hey joe: Best Buy did not post anything on their sales ad this Sunday(10-02-2010) about your new release set for this tuesday. Is there a problem with the release date and Best Buy?

@cosmic ape- I think Joe should do one pure fusion song without any blues in it. I want to see if he could accomplish it just once. Then we would be able to call him the most diverse guitarist that has ever lived. lol That's probably already true, but wouldn't it be cool to have a blues guitarist play jazz. I think that's freakin' awesome.

Flash Moron - The audiophile in me is going to have to buy that collection just to get Ghosts in non-MP3 format. Argh...

crockpot - Best Buy probably just isn't advertising the album, that's all. They should have it on release date, though, as they do have a deluxe edition exclusive to their stores.
oxley11 / cosmic_ape - Have you two heard Joe on Lum Lum, from Greg Bissonette's solo album a few years ago?

Been listening to Black Swans all day on the iphone. Can't pick a favourtie and don't feel the need to skip past a song. A perfect album and an overall great vibe. I do love the feel of Littleworth Lane, a beautiful song, so expressive, so few notes but each one tells the story...

I was working on a boat today at a local marina and was kept company by a Swan ! It wasn't black, but I did think about getting my black sharpie out and colouring it in, I don't think the Queen would be too happy. besides I couldn't get that close, i'm terrified of Swans, bad childhood experience !!!

I know, they scare the crap out of me. Everytime it came near the boat, I had to jump out and run along the pontoon, just glad no one saw me, it didn't look cool !

just bought the new album. needless to say, it was fking amazing. you never cease to blow my mind mr satriani, and i sincerely hope that you never will (cease to blow my mind that is). catching the dec 8th show in toronto. my first satch concert, and im excited as hell. if you actually do read this, please consider giving me your red ibanez when you come to toronto. the music it has created over the past few years has been tremendous. your guitar is like thor's hammer... and if you deem me worthy, i shall wield it well. heh.

Austin- I'm with you on the essential release, but this would have been a perfect opportunity to release DWCAE to the rest of the world. The people who have spent tons of money importing the Japanese version over the years may disagree with me, though.

Speaking of ITLIS?, I am in need of a Japanese version if anyone knows of a good place.

Rhythmsteady / other LA-area T2Jers - FYI... Just like with the Chickenfoot signing last year, we will need a wristband to attend the autograph signing at Best Buy on Thursday. You'll get a wristband when you buy the CD at the West LA Best Buy (near the 405 and 10 freeways) starting at 10 a.m. tomorrow. There shouldn't be a million people there before doors open, but I don't think the wristbands will last until Thursday...so stop by on Tuesday if you can.

Also, I don't see any mention of it on the site here, but for the SF people... I know Borders signings typically require a wristband as well, so maybe call that store and ask about Sunday's signing.

Yep MP3 sucks.
This new -real- audio CD is breathtaking.
And no track skipping on this album.

Yep, that one was mine:

Alewis525 says, your mom passed away late last year, which no doubt influenced the writing on your new album. But instead of focusing on the loss, could you share some happy musical memories of your mother?

"Oh yeah. She was a piano player, so ever since we were kids, we would sit next to her at the piano and watch her play. She would teach us things. She taught me my first boogie-woogie, showing me the left-handed piano lines. We had a lot of fun like that. I have such great musical memories of her.

"She really loved music and dancing. The whole family danced to music. You know, she grew up during the Jazz Age, with bobby-soxers and all that. But she also loved soul music, so everybody felt free to dance around and just enjoy music as a family."

I had another part of my question that was cut (I asked what her favorite Joe song/album/tour was)...I'll have to ask another time. I know that's an odd question, but wouldn't it be cool to find out that she really loved a deeper cut like New Day or Killer Bee Bop?

I wish Tracie's question (about Joe's song on Tarja's album) would have been answered. I think she's asked that in different places two or three times by now...but I don't think we've ever seen an answer that's much more than "she asked me and I did it," have we?
