Tickets were about the same without booking fee ...but we always end up paying more anyways, just the way it is
Even the merch stands, the price of a t-shirt here was €30 or USD $40 UK £25 ...some of the same shirts are $10 on the site, Were the shirts £20 at the manchester shows!? prob!
Just the way it goes, doesn't really bother me, used to it really
It's also $11 for a pack of 20 cigarettes, $5.20 for a gallon of petrol, $7.70 for a beer... I could go on, but not seeing a backdrop doesn't bother me really
Lots o' people have some damn cool cams now, pretty amazing quality on the vids!

Satch is the only gig ive ever been to where the artist has,nt brought over the same production as he has for UK/Europe.
In my 20 years of attending concerts ive never been to any other gigs where the production is less than everywhere else.
Im sorry if i seem to be harping a bit too much on this because i did really love the show.
I just think the missing bits would have made it visually even better

@scuba - Thanks for all the good stuff! Weird... I went to Roger Waters last night with a migraine, thought I was the only maniac. I could never bring myself to miss a show.. I'll quote Zappa's Thing-Fish: "What? Leave now, at THESE ticket prices?!" Nope. Just get heavily medicated (aka Comfortably Numb) and ride it out. Great show too btw.

On Saturday, I went to the Rutgers Vs. Army game at Giant Stadium. It was a great game. Although Rutgers was down 3 to 17 after the first half, they came back and won the game at 23 to 20. But in the middle of the fourth quarter, Rutger defensive tackle Eric LeGrand hit the Army player running the ball on the kickoff. My uncle and I were on the farside of the stadium, but we knew it was a bad hit once it happened. It took 5+ minutes to get him off the field. I just found out last night that he is paralyzed from the neck down due to injury to the spinal cord. If he is lucky, he will be able to walk again. So I kindly ask you to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

@Alesann - much as it hurts me to tell you this (I want to win it too) if you can't afford the club Joe package(s) you can add your name to the "attending" list for the Montreal show, 1 lucky SOB will get a FREE meet'n'greet upgrade around 3 days before the show. I've been trying to win one of these for a long-ass time. Hopefully this year it's my turn. Go to the ROAD section up top, then when you're on that page click on the North American dates about halfway down the page on the right, that will drop down all the shows, click the big 'A' in the gray circle at the left of the Montreal show listing, then you'll be signed up to win, with all 6 of us.
Karmically, this was the right thing to do. Still my eyelid twitches.
smooches,

I know Joe played Cannon in D with FunTwo on Youtube Live, but did he ever do his own cover?
Tell me if this video is real of fake. Personally I don't think it sounds like Joe.

Subject: Request for an unforgettable 20th Birthday in Paris!
Dear Mr. Satriani,
I apologize for bothering you with this short email but I have a special request.
It will be my twentieth birthday in a few days (to be accurate, on the 20th of October!).
As I’m really fond of what you do, and also because I look up to you, this birthday is going to be very special, very...“Satchi”! Indeed, I have booked my ticket for your concert in Paris on the 25th October. Moreover, I’ve already bought my birthday gift... a JS 1000.
I know it’s a long shot, but I had to try!
So here is my crazy request:
Would you mind writing an autograph on my guitar if I brought it after the show?
I know that there is one chance out of thousand (one billion would be more realistic!) to see this dream fulfilled, but it would mean a great deal to me.
I would like to thank you in advance.
Best regards.
PS: If someone knows a better place to post it and have a better chance to be seen... Let me know ! Thanks

Well folks...its been a long time since i've posted on here...but i needed to share my success story.
I live in Austin and was waiting on the pre-sale to go live this morning. the theater web page never updated the info or went live on the sale. So around 11am i called the box office and was transferred to a booking mgr, who told me "ohh crap...i forgot to update the page and start the fan club pre-sale, thanks for reminding me. check the page in a few min and it will be up "....5min later it got posted and i was lucky enough to get center stage in row A.
Thus is my little contrabution to Joe's touring cause
I'm a happy monkey....yay

Burnt Biscuits
---by anonymous
When I was a kid, my mom liked to make breakfast food for dinner every now and then.
I remember one night in particular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work.
On that evening so long ago, my Mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage, and extremely burned biscuits in front of my dad.
I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet all my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day was at school.
I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every bite!
When I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits.
I'll never forget what he said: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned.
He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"
You know, life is full of imperfect things... and imperfect people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and anniversaries just like everyone else.
What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate each others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a healthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
That's my prayer for you today...
That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the difficult parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God because in the end, He's the only one who will be able to give you a relationship where a burned biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!
We could extend this to any relationship.
In fact, understanding is the base of any relationship, be it a husband-wife or parent-child or Friendship!
"Don't put the key to your happiness in someone else's pocket -- keep it in your own."
So... please pass me a biscuit, and yes, the burned one will do just fine! And please pass this along to someone who has enriched your life... I just did!
Life is too short to wake up with regrets....
Love the people who treat you right and
forget about the ones who don't.

Joe has always been very good about autographs after the show.
I had him sign a JS100 after a show for me a few years back and he was really cool about. he hung out with his fans for over an hour afterwards and signed anything they brought with.
Bring it to the show and keep it in your car or somewhere safe. find out from other fans if they know a good spot to wait after the show. and i'll bet you anything you'll get your signature.
Good Luck :-)

One things for sure, Joe, you MUST play "THE GOLDEN ROOM" on this tour. .....That song "IS" golden. And what a mystical, dark, hypnotic atmosphere it would provide to your set for that moment in time. It's just gorgeous. And I think it would be just Amaaazing. I know it. It is too majestic of a song to be ignored.
PLEASE PLAY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Joe pleease. please. please. :)

Hey Joe,
I was wondering how some good spiritual songs would sound Satch style.. You have one of the most amazing talents that God can
Give someone. Any possibility of some beautiful arrangements of some good spiritual songs? How about 'Be Thou My Vision'? Anyway...thought I'd ask.
Surely somebody besides me can see the appeal huh?
