Just got my copy of BSAWW, and the bonus tracks. I listened to the album 3-4 times today during my day, twice on my MP4 player and twice on my speakers at home.

My review, although late, follows, I'll just say it now to clear up any doubts, 11 out of 10 stars Joe, jackpot material.

Premonition - This starts out sounding kind like Surfing or Flying, with the talking in the beginning, but quickly reminds me of Mind Storm or Mountain Song once it gets going, but altogether you kept a really fresh hot awesome groove going with that one, I love how it's so minor but gets me dancing every time.

Dream Song - I have had this one stuck in my head all day, so complex and so perfectly pulled from dreamland. Jeff's drumming really compliments this one as he keep a really smooth groove all throughout, and Alan sounded like he was channeling the Blue Man Group with his bass, I swear it sounded like PVC pipes at times. The pre-chorus and chorus are addictive, I wish all my dreams sounded like that.

Pyrrhic Victoria - Great, just great, what more can I say, it burns all the way through with the feeling I know we have all felt at some time in our lives. The chorus is perfect beyond words for the feeling you are trying to convey.

Light Years Away - This is a really great piece, classic and forever epic, I really like the tone of the crunch on this one, it's a perfect match to make it feel real and not be so rocky that it drowns itself in it's own awesomeness, if that makes sense.

Solitude - Way too short in my opinion, great track, but I could stand for about 5 minutes of stuff like that, I found myself trying to play it and then replay it right back to back so as to create a consecutive loop, didn't work so well. This is so contemplative and deep but you hardly get time to think about something before it ends. I'm not angry, but please make a Solitude part 2...like The Power Cosmic part 1 and 2...

Littleworth Lane - I love these personal songs, I really do. This one really touched me, this is what I would want my children to remember home like. This track felt so at home and so warm, I really liked it. Into the Light has always brought tears to my eyes this one will never fail to bring a smile to my face.

The Golden Room - Andalusia and Oriental Melody had a head on collision...and it made a great sound. I have always liked your exotic stuff, and this is just one more hallmark to add to the list.

Two Sides to Every Story - This is classic you Joe, bluesy and funky, it sounds like a hold over from the your self titled disc from waaaaaay back then, but I could be wrong.

Wormhole Wizards - My personal favorite on the album, reminds me of Ceremony in many ways because it's dark and unseen, but unforgettable. The main riff is a mainstay, and it feels cool all the way through.

Wind in the Trees - I don't know yet what that tuning is but I will figure it out. The harmonics are intoxicating and the playing is flawless oh not to mention Keneally is a genius, that was a master stroke letting him have a time slot of his own...perfect way to end this great song.

God is Crying - This one piqued my interest in this album instantly when you released that short sample of it. I knew this track was going to be good once I heard that. It's full of anger...and love, rage and care...it's a perfect balance. The ending riff reminds me very much of mind storm.

Heartbeats - This is really sweet piece, not quite like anything I've heard from you before, in that, I can't place any likeness. It's beautifully inspiring song and Keneally's quite piano passages send this song right over the top.

Longing - This is a perfect song for me, not too convoluted and it flows in an emotionally perfect direction. The chorus feels like falling in love all over again, and what a wonderful feeling it is.

Perfect album Joe.

Don't you just love getting a Tweet from Joe in the form of a text on your phone! Hehe.. I always pretend he's texting only to me! lol ;-)

Peace Lily---thanks for the Wikipedia Pyrrhic Victory link. WHy didn't I think of just typing it in my search bar? You'd think that's what the Internet is for. Well, thanks, I learned something today ;-)

Pip----Yeah, the Pod's for sure. Or, even just watching your video. I knew there was a Bm in there, cool.... And I tell ya, the Pyrrhic Victoria pod is EXCELLENT footage of his finger work. As soon as I repair my ouput jack on my guitar that broke on me last night :/ i'm gonna watch and learn that killer riff. And if I can't manage to repair my output jack (this will be my first time repairing all on my own) that means I can't play my electric and learn the riff, which means everyone will hear me screaming from wherever you are located :(

"The Egg Salad Sandwhich Song"-----------------------heehee yup, I can visualize that on a future Joe album song title for sure. Not too far out there as far as Joe titles go...hee :)

I took the non-bonus track CD that Best Buy.com sent me by mistake to the local store, who refused to take it as a return. Between this and them taking over a month to fix my computer they seem to be working awfully hard to ensure I won't be spending any money there in the future.

And I love the Egg Sandwich song :D

Does anyone have a link to the part off the Chickenfoot dvd behind the scenes footage, the part where the camera pans on Joe doing his warm-up excercise? You know that crazy thing he does up and down the fretboard, that wierd curvy fingering thing. I want to show that to a friend. If anyone can help me that would be great. Im not sure how to find that little part on you tube exactly..... :-)

Thanks for that link, anibur. That dispute goes back a few years...the guy suing Sammy is an ass, plain and simple. He was the original developer of the club in Fresno, but he pulled a lot of stupid stuff that just shows he doesn't know anything about what he was getting into. Check out this dress code (from here) that was in place when the club opened. It's a beach-themed restaurant, but the guy won't let you wear sandals or tank tops? That upset a lot of fans, as you can imagine, and after Sammy heard about that he pulled his name from and cut ties with the restaurant almost immediately.

Fresno has been friendly to Sammy for years and years...Van Halen recorded their live Right Here, Right Now CD/DVD there in the early 90s because they have such a fanbase there. Anyone with half a brain should have been able to run a club there and turn a profit. This guy is an idiot though...he acted like a jerk and lost a lot of money, and now he wants to sue Sammy to try to get it back.

Here are two links from a few years ago with more background info:

Hagar distances himself from Fresno Cabo Wabo
Plans to rename Fresno's Cabo Wabo

Sorry to kind of go off on this, but this story really bugged me when it broke a few years ago. I can't believe this guy thinks he can sue Sammy over it.

...Austin...

Do The Stu- Thanks for posting the info......I had read about the suit yesterday and I was wondering what the deal was....your info puts a whole new light on the subject. Makes a little more sense to me now. The dress code strikes me as being a bit silly..... I can't see gangs wanting to hang out at a Cabo Wabo & no flip flops and tank tops ..what de heck....

I could see banning CROCS ....

nobody should wear CROCS LOL

I know this may be kind of late, but everyone knows the intro improv from Time Machine in "Live In Paris". Has anybody listened to it as they slowly drifted off to sleep??? Not the whole song, but just the intro.

wow.

That is some amazing stuff. You're gently falling asleep and feeling the peaceful music slowly drift you farther into the that sleep. You should really try it one day. It just makes you feel so comfortable as you fade into dreamland.

Kind of a random statement, but when I listened to the concert, before I went to bed, I would fast forward to Time Machine. And I just listened to it again the other night. It just amazing to listen to as you fall asleep.

Floating Down The River Of Time.

Hello joe :), i have a question, i don't mean to be disrespectful, or scratch any scar, you had a song which i love "if i could fly" which had some legal problems, and i heard you came to an off court agreement, is that why you never perform this song live? or at least i've never seen any performances of this song.

Before i go, i just want to say i am a huge fan, i play guitar also about two years playing now, you're my idol and my inspiration, i just love your music and could listen to it forever! Keep doing what you do best and rock that guitar out!.

Hope to hear from you. Cristhian.
