Tracie- I sure wish I could take you up on a guitar, but without even asking I already know they are outta my budget, lol! I hate to see you part with them too; if I were to buy one it would get locked in a safe and never get played, it would just be a collector's item. I have built up a small gun collection over the years, and I always promised myself that no matter how little I fire them or even take them out of the safe that I would NEVER get rid of them, even if I need the money! I would regret it the very next day.

Premonition covered by me.... little disappointed with this - where'd all the bass go!?

Love the new album so much!! Right....

Further Joe Satriani Ibanez signature series guitar info..... as well as the release of the "Experience Hendrix" proto did I also mention a redesign of the body for a new model? Roughly an inch being added to the body all round to get back some lost frequencies. I want to say 600 to 800Hz???

So there you go, two new JS's.... and basically when a proto is ready Joe takes it out on tour if possible to bed it in for real, then any final tweeks are made and it gets signed off hence almost a year before we see this next one.

... and if I recall correctly they don't do any proto unless it's intended for a production model :-)

Cheese - definitely one of the most sought after, most of the Ltd's go for sensible pennies. Who'd a thought it... an PS yes, 700 is mohog

Blue Moon - what was the best Joe gig you've seen? sorry about Hendrix mate

webmaster / jon - was there ever any debate (Allen vs Alan) ? :-D

Have a good weekend all

Thanks Blue_Moon.
I picked up on the slides but knew there had to be some efect in there. Got the song to sound close to the disk but, it was a real bitch to do hammer on's that fast! LOL. So the autotune makes sense! Thanks!

Pip- Thanks for the info! Definitely looking forward to the new releases. I figured that the first time I heard Joe refer to the Hendrix guitar as a "prototype", there would be a chance it would be an actual JS model some day. There's a reason they're called prototypes, lol!

Speaking of that, every time I see Joe play the red JS 7-string I always wonder about that one. It was never released to the public, right? There was also another 7 string I've seen in some vids (SBM era, I believe) that looks similar to the JS700 (if I have my models right).

Heads-up bots! Buckethead has a new one up on iTunes... it's called Captain Eo's Voyage and it is absolutely unbelievable! I can't recommend this one highly enough. Spend the $10, you'll be glad you did. This one finally has Electric Tears beaten, I didn't even think that was possible.
Enjoy!

I got the presale cd, one for the cd cover and two for the presale code. Went on line the 18th for the Snoqualmie show and the link was not up and it said to check back later.
Here it is the 22nd and it still says the same thing! WTF!!!
If I had known I couldn't get the presale tickets I would have bought the cd at Best Buy so I could get the bonus Tracks!

Hi Climber: I think the deal is that the Snoqualmie Casino gig is going to be a "festival" event. For such a small place that would make sense, and if there's no seating then a presale makes no sense. But if that's the case, then they really ought to let people with presale codes into the house early. Perhaps the presale concept was already in place before this venue was finalized, but they could still make good on the concept with early admission for code holders.

I thought it was pretty cool that Joe was using the JSA10 for the intro to Andalusia, and equally as cool that he kept that song around for another tour. That song has a pretty special meaning to me and it's always nice to hear it.

You're probably right, Scubadaz, I'd say he's running it straight to the PA; probably the same setup as in Chickenfoot. I'm sure someone here knows for sure. The JSA sounds pretty good, I think. And it really fits the mood of Andalusia that Joe is playing the intro acoustically.

When Joe plays CF, however, I am a little partial to hearing BBTW played on the double neck. There's nothing wrong with the acoustic/electric, but I just like the growly intro that the double neck offers. I have a couple bootlegs of some shows on the road test tour; before Joe got the JSA10. Really enjoy listening to those, just wish the sound quality was a little better!

Ah, I thought he traded out the double neck once the JSA10 came on board, but I guess not! Maybe he was waiting to get the JSA mount built (so that he could play the solo in BBTW). Or maybe he just wasn't ready to give up the double neck yet?! All I know is I prefer BBTW with the double neck, haha!

Joe, Black Swan is the best album I've heard in 2010 and certainly carries the weight of your greatest albums. It's very laid back and relaxing. I love it! Well done and certainly a 10/10 album. Keep em coming! Cheers.

It gets to me too Deb...I think it's knowing that Joe wrote this song about his mom and her little house...my heart goes out to him every time I think about her passing. I just wanna hug him up. In Napa, I gave Joe an extra hug right before he left and wanted to tell him how sorry I was about his mom but....I just did the hug cuz I figgered he lives with it every day and copes in his own way, doesn't need reminders constantly from everyone. But in my head I was saying "sorry about your mom".

I know Joe will do other tribute songs and they will all be beautiful and heart-felt :)

Ohhhhh, This is fun!! Joe in Toronto, April 1990...blast from the past eh Joe?? Woo hoo!

Which song did Joe write for his mom? This album retains the same feeling from his eponymous 1995 album but the textures are fresh. Lovely in every sense.

Well scubz, here's another one fer ya Joe Satriani Interview With Stuart Bull Licklibrary Namm Show 2007...it's a fun one, but short.

The good news is, Joe's gonna keep working and performing till he's 110 years old....the bad news is, he only gets one Wednesday off during that time, LOL!! Poor guy!!

Hope yer feeling better scuba, it takes time to get over whiplash, you can't push it, u just hafta take it easy and get through it little by little.

ILoveThailand, Joe wrote "Littleworth Lane" in memory of his mom and the house she lived in for the past "few decades". Go here and choose #6 where Joe talks about that song and how it came to be.
