Pick your poison!
Dweezil (Zappa, of course) swears by these bad boys. He's also one of the few people I've heard say that a player's tone starts at the pick. All I can say is: "Try it! You'll like it!".

DistortedSoul - Excellent songs, I remember when those hit the street, way ahead of Slaughterhouse On The Prairie, we (the bots) were all drooling all over them. There's also a tribute to George Gervin called "The Iceman" on that album. Big B has a huge basketball fetish (Jordan? Hello?? LOL!) and sent those out to LeBron James on his Birthday. Nice.

civgeek - Ah yes.. Praxis... can't go wrong when Laswell & Big B join forces, there's a ton of excellent Praxis material out there but I'm partial to the "new" one Profanation (Preparation for a Coming Darkness). I really like the guest appearances, so many of my favorite artists, like Mike Patton on Larynx for example, simply incredible. I love to listen to that album (like all my favorite music!) start-to-finish.

p.s. - DAMN THOSE MONKEY VIDEOS! STEVE! (my favorite monkey!)

smooches,
» Phy³

I cannot believe Satch is coming to Kelowna, BC!! I used the member website to ensure I got tickets in the pre-sale even before the local radio station's pre-sale. Thanks for the early purchase option :). It meant I got two seats, ten rows from the front in the exact middle - small venue so up close show. So looking forward to watching and listening live!!

This had me giggling! review from 2006...... A Joe Satriani gig is not really the place for anyone of a nervous disposition, or for anyone just starting out learning guitar. For both groups, it can be a very intimidating experience.

Does anyone know how much Joe's decorated guitar went for, for Little kids Rock?

Js1200js1000: try deleting the app and redownloading it. It will say "do you want to buy.." - but as long as you use the same account you bought it on, it will then say "you already own this, it will download again for free"

@phydeaux- Thanks for the info!!! As a matter of fact, I have heard Soothsayer before. It really has a beautiful melody, and then it breaks into a shred fest near the end of the song. And I have also heard Asylum Of Glass too. Very unique and I love the chords in the chorus. And the quick paced ending breakdown

If you saw my sunrise video, the second song I had after Joe's Out Of The Sunrise, I had Buckethead's Dawn Appears playing. That one is really beautiful. It's almost happy and sad at the same time. it's amazing.

Anyway thanks again!!!!

It is so cool reading these posts....great app. I had a record/video bass/ticket-master store back in the 90's and am so grateful for the experience. Primus did an in-store performance cuz Larry came in with a box of cassette tapes and asked me if I could sell them for him. Still have my signed album from them. Then Joe came in. Talk about a dream! Then Stu, Lenny Kravitz and Mike Patton....I feel so blessed that I had this opportunity to meet these incredibly talented people. My family used to laugh at me though....it all started by being kicked in the head by George Harrison when I was a kid at my uncles apartment. That kick started (pun intended) my place in the music world, whether playing, appreciating, etc.
