A new song I put together yesterday, now on my profile:

http://profile.ultimate-guitar.com/logicbdj/music/all/play917461

Alternates lush plexi phase guitar with an a more edgy guitar lead.

Hi Joe! I was very happy to meet you yesterday. I hope you liked my gift, the photo with Sammy that I took at the Pistoia Blues. You are exactly the kind and helpful person I imagined! I was happy of the meet & greet, except the organization. I was disappointed that there haven't taken out all together from the meeting, but in groups so I couldn't listen you play the guitar. I couldn't even understand why we have not received the guitar strap as has been written many times in e-mail that I received and in the event description in this site. I hope that these words could help the organization be better in the future. A kiss,

Laura Pozzi

Hi Everyone.

Joe: Good to see that blue.

Ian, congrats.

I ran the Vererans Marathon this morning. Out of about maybe 300+, I finished 22nd. I had to get a time of 3:10:59 to qualify for Boston. The result - 3:10:37, made it within 22 seconds. I have qualified for the Boston Marathon. Even though it's sold out next year for 2011, I have the chance to get in for 2012. I'm thinking Chicago and New York for 2011 (maybe Detroit), but who knows what will happen. I'm just going to enjoy the accomplishment for now. It felt so good that I was able to reach my goal. Now I need to work on beating my new PR.

Hope everyone is well.

Grant

Joe- Thank you!

Thanks for the well wishes and congrats from everyone!

Anibur- Thanks! Love Thing definitely crossed my mind, but it just doesn't have the right "feel", for lack of a better term, to play at the wedding.

Kayla- Hmm... I actually never thought about Home. I think it would fit in as a slow dance song for me. We aren't planning to dance, but I'm in charge of music after the ceremony, and I have to come up with a 3 hour play list. That one will definitely be played, thanks for bringing it up!

Ibanezguitars- AWMAWY was probably one of the first songs that popped into my head, for obvious reasons, but I dismissed it just as quickly as it came in just because of that! I do love that song, but I can't say that I haven't heard it enough the last couple years. Starry Night was a contender as well, but it just got beat out by the others that I mentioned.. (Baroque, Come on Baby, You Saved My Life, and Just Look Up, which I didn't mention the other day). We even considered the LIP version of Out of the Sunrise because we both like the song so well, but it's hard to make that a wedding song. It will be part of the reception play list, though!

I'll probably make up my mind the day of the ceremony, but for now I'm leaning toward Baroque. When I set out to pick a song, I was hoping to find one of Joe's unaccompanied guitar pieces, but I couldn't think of one that would work; then I woke up one morning with Baroque on my mind and it seemed perfect!

The only 'order' I got was that I couldn't play all Joe and CF during the entire reception, lol!

Hi! I just want to say that you're my idol, Joe! I went to your concert in Milan 11.11.10 and you were great! Amazing! I don't know how can you do those amazing things with a guitar. But I went home disappointed. The Adrian group before you played for an hour!! And the were terrible!!! Terrible!! You can't call music what they did! I went to your concert to enjoy and instead, for three days I talk only about the noise which produced the band before you. Another thing is that I waited for you with 10 other people for an hour and half. We wanted an autograph from our idol, it was cold as death outside, but you didn't show up at all. But I guess no one told you that we were outside. I just wanted to say that the event which should had change my life was ruined by those three "musicians" before you, Adrian Belew tortured the guitar in a way I have never seen. Sorry for the writing mistakes, but I'm a Serbian guy who lives in Italy. All the best! I hope you will read this. You are and you'll always be the best guitar player in the world! Marko

Hey everyone, I will be making my post now that I've listened to Satch's latest album.

My impressions remain the same: -Joe's music give me feelings of sadness/joy/nostalgia and other such feelings, but I hardly find any song full of rock. I can appreciate deep emotions, but personally, I also need to hear something that just flat out rocks every now and then, and sadly, I don't hear any Surfing With The Alien mark II or Ice 9 mark II or maybe The Extremist mark II. -The last few albums sound really like a lot more stuff is improvised, more chords and slow melodies occupy the musical space and fast, energetic legato licks are getting extremely rare. There are still dive bombs and other whammy bar wizardry, some pick tapping every now and then, but mainly the solo phrases consist of slower alternate picking licks. -Sounds and atmosphere are all created with guitar/bass/drums purely. Whatever happened to all the cool percussions, harmonica leads, and other such excentricities Satch used to put in his songs, which made them awesome? Surfing With The Alien has voices, plane flying over your head sounds, Circles has weird yet awesome noises in the intro... whatever happened to all that? It's still there, but again, it's become so rare.

My conclusion: as usual, the new Satch CD is a solid effort. I can't really say Joe has run out of creative juice or can't play his guitar like he used to (and I know I personally think this of some guitar players who have created masterpieces), but I really hope the next album will have more rock n roll. I can't say I really spent a lot of time listening to Super Colossal, PSATMOR, Black Swans and Wormhole Wizards or Is There Love In Space in comparison to masterpieces like The Extremist, Surfing With The Alien, Flying In A Blue Dream which regularly play on my stereo.

Joe, turn up the tempo, unleash rock n roll and explore exotic instruments like you used to!

Greetings Mr.Satriani, somedays ago i was at your concert at Alcatraz club in Milan.

I’ve been waited for 20 years to see your live performance, and I never though to say this: but you have disappointed me. Not for the performance itself, that was amazing, you, and your band are great, just as I expected and waited for a lifetime. But we were outside Alcatraz club, after the concert, waiting for you and you ran away without even greet us with a wave. We were not a crowd of thousand people, but only thirty ,more or less, maybe not blessed with the backstage pass but still your’s fans waiting only for a signature. And that was a great displeasure.

Regards, a fan of yours
