Hello Joe,

My son and I have tickets for the Atlanta show Dec. 1 which also happens to be my son's birthday. This will be his first rock show and I want it to be the best it can be. He will be 14, which I think is how old you were when you started playing. Wayde is an accomplished violinist now playing in the Philharmonic Orchestra and has recently started playing both acoustic and electric guitar. I really believe he needs a good shot of inspiration that he will surely get when he has the opportunity to see a true master wield his instrument. What would be the coolest birthday party ever is if we were able to come backstage either before or after the show and meet you and all the cool musicians. This would certainly be a lifelong memory that might have him playing till his fingers bleed, tape them up and go some more. We are already getting our heads rung for missing school and work on the Thursday following the show, and a backstage visit would surely make all the discomfort easy to endure. We have been wearing out the youtube videos and are ready for a night of the real live music. Thanks for staying true to the spirit of music both by playing and helping others play. Good Luck on the tour, be careful and we will see you the first day of December in the ATL,

Great to see all the lovely posts from new T2Jers from Joe's European concerts. Sounds like everything on this tour has been a great success.

I took some Satch music away with me this weekend with a bunch of mates and tried a bit of Subtle Satchification - to which one said "Is that your Joe Santorini music?" LMAO!

They still don't get Joe, but a few are now interested in coming to the States with me to see Joe next year, well not to "see" Joe but to occupy themselves (shop) whilst I go to the shows on my own - at least I'd have some buddies there LOL!

Congrats Ian- I hope you go for Love Thing, I remember reading an quote from Joe on that one - he mentioned his wife was away and he really wanted her to be home and he wrote Love Thing about it - that's 100% love mate.

to QuestorThews and the other fans that waiting for Joe, after the concert: I don't know if Joe meets the fans every day of his tour...perhaps he was simple tired! I would be tired too, after weeks of tour. :) Don't be disappointed, there will be other chance to see him. ;)

About new album: I'm a nearly "just arrived" Joe's fan (I have discovered him 5 years ago :P) , but I have heard his past albums. I like when an artist change a little from his guideline style. I think it is a demonstration of the heart and emotions behind each album. I like this!

Just wrong.

Darren:

Ignore the impedance thing then... just a guess. I would suggest changing the cables (running from the guitar, the effects pedal, etc.). If that does not work, then possibly something in the pedal itself. Try getting rid of the other effects in the chain to see if it is just that pedal, or that pedals interaction with the other stuff. You sorta have to get rid of everthing and build it back up to discover the cause. The cable exchange is the first course of action, as that has happened to me in the past, even with cables that were a month or two old!

Video Workshop-Interview Joe Satriani

Riffs and licks from the new album

„Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards“ "Black Swans And Wormhole Wizards

EDIT- Skippygirl- Sounds like you had a fun holiday with your friends! Hope you can get some friends fired up to visit the States with you.... Good luck with your " Subtle Satchification" LOL.. luv that phrase...I am always trying to SATCHIFY friends and family. Sometimes it works.. Had to drive my son & girlfriend to pick up his car and nonchalantly pushed play on the cd player & said nothing. GOD IS CRYING was first song up ..look in my rear view and my son is frantically head banging to the song. I smile and say whatcha doing? He says ..I LOVE this song...is this JOE????
YEP I say proudly. He then asks for the song tiltle & repeats how much he likes the song and the title..... He might just earn that x-tra cd I have...I am saving it till someone proves worthy!!! :-)

Hey Joe, How do you come up with those interesting song names? I have a song that needs to be named and I'm stumped. Any suggestions? I would be honored to use anything that comes to mind for you.

Rehearsal #2 went real well with the new drummer and guitar. The sound was so full and of course now I can hear the harmonies. All we need now is a singer and we'll be ready to gig in a couple months. So if any of you know a good singer in the Portland, Oregon area, send them my way.

A hard driving song with a bit of speed work thrown in.

I have high-end stuff as well, but within 2 months I had to bring my Big Bad Wah in for repairs... was making crackling sounds when used. Crappy pot I think.

Hi Joe! I'm Raúl, from Valencia, Spain. I'm glad to hear your new album (it's amazing) but I want to know, why is your gig for people over 18 years old? I'm 17 and I can't go to Madrid to see you, and it makes me feel bad!. Waiting your response!

hey Peace Lily - thanks for the link - I can't get the vids but the translation is so funny.. Here is one part...

The Seventies ruled! Los geht es mit einem Wah Wah-Pattern, das im Chicken Scratch-Style angeschlagen wird. It starts with a wah wah pattern that in-Style Chicken Scratch is struck. In our specific case, this means that their finger on the eighth fret easily spread across all strings in order to dampen Sun Anschließend greift ihr den Ton ´E´ im 9. Then it uses the sound 'e' in the 9th Bund mit einem der frei gebliebenen drei Finger. Covenant with one of the remaining three fingers free.

Now hang on - That was all in English when I C & P it - but now it shows as?? what?

Basspedals - Score! Nice find! Praxis is really unbelievably good stuff... I'm rather partial to their newest album Profanation - Preparation For A Coming Darkness . Very different from their earlier stuff.. plus a LOT of guest appearances by a lot of surprising artists. More info here.

Hi Joe, Please read this massage, Pool Sweden, Stockhom and Me...... Not being honoured by your presence and last year when you came to Sweden with Chickenfoot, although it was more than great, I realy wanted and still want to see you perform your own song. So it seams like all I can do right now is to look at your tour program and read your comments everyday and feel sorry for my self :(
