JOE:

I don't know what you guys heard on stage Monday night but to me the sound was flat. I just can't figure out if it was the Marshalls sound, the theater, or just your diff approach to the songs? This was my 1st experience of you through the M's and if all they do is flatten everything out I think you should go back to the Peaveys. It just doesn't sound right anymore. All the detail in the songs is lost in what seems like a move toward a harsh sound? Go back and listen to the Dreaming #11 recording of Memories at like 3:46 in...all the cool intricate playing that you used to balance against the harsh stuff like that is gone. Thats the kinda stuff that was missing from the KC show and I just hope it was a fluke night. ------ Anyone else who's seen a recent show notice this kinda playing missing? Is it the sound setup drowning things out or is Joe playing different?

cj, i would suspect the venue acoustics had a lot to do with what you heard. all the shows i saw were outstanding and every1 else is reporting the same. i have heard joe say the stage layout affect sound both on and off stage. sorry you had a bad night. those marshalls kicked it.

Michelle--Thanks for Cats Love Christmas. Now you know how many pages behind I am in the forum! We do love the kitties. I'm on Save a Cat application and I'm fostering a cat named Alannis. She is a beauty queen.....well maybe not a queen because she's had the sterization surgery as most have. I like the name Alannis.....reminds me of a guy from Ireland.....or not ;-) Can you believe it's so close to Christmas. I have one more 4 hour shift of work tomorrow, then no more until after Christmas!

Al, How you been keeping yourself? Any hot baths with candles? They do wonders in the depths of winter. Nice lights around a nice soak.......ahhhhh........Have you given the snow a good send-away with yer shovel? Yeah, we have had rain with some breaks in between storms. We have seen the sun now and again. Right now the sky is gray and threatening. Nice thing about rain is it fills up creeks and reservoirs. We get so dry here during the summer, we need as much rain during this season as we can get.

I hope your temps warm up so the snow melts and runs into the Liffey and other waterways. When we get snow, it's usually above 3000 feet elevation. It just gets colder here in the valley and rains......although when it rains the temps go up to 9 degreesC at least. You have been through crazy weather as has most of Europe........Germany, Austria and Switzerland must really be snowed under! Wonder what it's like in Holland. I'm sure it's ice skating time. I hope you can get outside and show the snow how you feel about it! ;-) Sorry about the troubles you've had with the web/net.

Hi Joe how you doing??....My name is Alex and i write you from Italy....I just had surgery on his left hand, the tendon of the 4th finger to a stenosing tendonitis (trigger finger). As you can imagine I play for many years and is the first time I have this problem. Now I have a little afraid it will not come back all right and I was wondering if a musician like you always play has never suffered from these problems. Sorry if I have not done the usual questions about aspects of musical technique but is due to the fact that I can not play And then I grew up listening to you and so do not know what to ask! Finally I say that the show in Milan last night It was great ..... your performance as usual superb and the choice of songs very guessed, memories, etc. hordes of Locusts. I'd listen rubina .. beautiful and relaxing maybe the next tour in Italy. thanks for letting me spend some of your time. Please answer me if possible.-Alex Canali

that leaves either Joe's choice of the way he played the songs or the theater setup. Either way it's too bad, but I'm glad everyone is having a good time. He's just been better. Maybe next time

Actually one thing I thought was pretty dumb was not playing Wormhole Wizards. I mean it's the title track. Thats like not playing surfing on the surfing tour, no extremist on the extremist tour, no cp on cp tour etc. Doesn't make sense. Anyone know why he hasn't played it since the European leg? Is the band bored of it already?

WW isn't the best choice of live songs I think, maybe he just played it for the Euro leg since it was the titled album, but i thats my figuring, it's no summer song

and thats for the suggestion of candle lit baths, all id need is enya in the background, would be delightful :|

Havn't had a bath in ages, kinda boring just lying there and you have to have a shower afterwards anyways, just have a shower as fast as possible, too cold for messing about

and the lLffey has more shopping trollies than snow in it I bet!

crystal jammer, at the Philly show Joe's guitar sound was so full and fat is was rigaddamndiculous!!! I was even thinking how big the guitar sound was - like heavier and fatter and really, REALLY good. I was happy that it wasn't hurting my ears like his guitar has at some previous shows. Maybe that was the higher sound of the JS? No ear plugs this time. The Marshall's were effin' killer if you ask me, and I'm really glad Joe switched. You must have had a crap spot in the room, and that really sucks. So, what were some of the positive things you liked about the show?

I saw a show at the Hershey Arena once, and I swear to Bob there was a 30 second delay from the time the sound left the stage until it hit our ears. It was terrible, and I was so disappointed. It was also the night Marty Friedman skipped across the stage and feckin fell! lol! I've seen Megadeth since then at a different venue, and they were killer.

Honorable mention, one of the LOUDEST bands we've seen...ZZ Top!! lol! Most amazing show though! Those effin guys are the shit!

I thought the sound at the concert sounded pretty damn good. The worst thing I can say about it is that maybe it was a little muddy from where I was standing, only in that some of the mids and highs were drowned out, and I though that just might be because of the addition of the keyboard.

The little bit that I got on vid sounds great to me and that was by no means a high tech camera...

Idk

I don't know about WW being a bad song live. The only part i could see peeps objecting to is maybe the keys solo in the middle. But all they gotta do is bump it up for the live show. Maybe have joe play parallel with the keys solo or have him duel with Mike... summer song is summer song. Even tho some are sick of it *cough* al *cough* :), it was one of the songs that came off well at the KC show. But if I coulda had WW I woulda swapped. I went to hear the new stuff played :) People who were standing actually sat down during Littleworth. I think he could've switched out that for WW too. But I know thats not gonna happen cause of LW's meaning to him.

Michelle I get ya :) I guess I do sound a tad negative but I just call things as they are. I might've just got the unlucky spot or show...there was that whole eclipse thing that night lol. Despite the sound on most songs there were a few highlights: Light Years, Dream Song, War, Why( great improvised ending), summer song, crowd chant(even mick came on stage to direct the crowd lol ), MPHGT(perfect), Andalusia( as clean as the album!). And even tho they screwed up Joe's mic, BBM with the screen was pretty damn cool(i won't spoil the imagery for those who haven't gone yet). Those are most of the highlights. I thought the lighting effects were solid: shadow joes were playing all over the theater walls in dif colors....

I think your prob onto something when you talk about Joe's sound (pitch?) used to be higher at shows. I understand the earplug thing tho. Maybe joe's tuning was just off in KC and that's what Mike Manning was trying to fix during the show. I dunno..

My bro thought Ned Evett and triple double were good. Elizabeth, Fingerprints, and the Wrong Thing. I don't really disagree, but I pay to see Joe so I would rather just replace them with Ceremony, WW, Up in the Sky, and Power Cosmic 2.

Then we got ourselves a Joe on fire! lol

Just a quick visit.

As is becoming a tradition, wifey and me set off for a week's getaway from the pre Christmas madness. We hadn't even got to our destination when the shitstorm started, it was still falling when we got home yesterday. :-(

Annyhoo, the reason for my quick visit:

Prayers and best wishes for peaceful Deb (Pee silly) and family.

Congrats to cubic Marky and family. Tis a blessing indeed.

Dunno when i'll be back next 'cause i don't want to bring any more sorry for myself crap here, so:

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. God Bless you all (that includes Joe and his family, and all his 'working family').

Hello Satch! I want to know if you are going to come to Argentina like in 2008 with your album ''Professor Satchafunkilus And The Musterion Of Rock''. That concert was the best concert I never seen in my entire life! Better than ACDC, Metallica, Juanjo Dominguez and Santana!

I wait for your answer and please come to South America we have the best crow in the world!

achoo, joe said "peavy was slow to make changes to the amps in regard to mid range tone." so i guess he grew tired of a company that vast not wanting to commit 1 engineer to his request to improve his amps that sell so well and make them lots of money. so now he is back with marshall.

for you that are too young to have experianced the 60's and 70's. get trippy

all you need is some black light and iron butterfly now.
