I cant stop listeing to WHY! I LOVE this song! It is seriously SO powerful! My friend I took to the show asked what song Joe had played after Little because he thought it was so powerful and instantly I said WHY, I checked the setlist and of course it was WHY.

JOE where did you get the inspiration for this song!!!!!!!!!

Wow! Lots of water. We've been lucky though. We're on the beach, but not near any river outlets, so we are in a pocket not effected by flooding.

The main wall of water is already starting to put Brisbane city under water. Apparently the peaks will be later today, and then biggest will be tomorrow.

Some towns went completely under.

The wyvernhoe (sp?) dam was built to help avoid another 1974 flood. The dam is at around 190 percent capacity! They HAVE to release water or the floods will release it for them.

I heard just then that the dam is currently releasing 2 SYDNEY HARBOURS of water EACH DAY. that gives you an idea of the amount of water we are dealing with.

The main highways around us are cut. One right near my work.

Power has been cut to the main parts of Brisbane city and police are asking people to stay away.

Ipswich is forecast to peal at 20meters later today or tonight.

A floating restaurant broke away yesterday and floated down the river.

Shipping containers etc, all floating away.

So I am sparing a thought and many prayers for Brisbane and surrounds over the next 2 days Let's hope for no more loss of life.

75% of Queensland is flood effected.

Please spare a thought for the affected families.

Hey Joe, had the honor of seeing you in Calgary on the 5th! You sounded amazing and left me speechless. My only complaint was the bright light shining in my face pretty much the whole time, but other then that the show was perfect and I really hope I get to see you again!

DOM, I don't read books written by idiots, sorry. Pretty funny example of "what's right" in the world though. Was Rush Limbaugh's book out of stock?

Looks like our little traveling group of Joe ho's are out in SF in full force tonight having entirely to much fun already! Hope they all have the most fun ever...aside from the hangovers. lol! WOOT!

Joe totally rocked the Roseland Theater tonight in Portland!

It truly was an amazing experience. The Meet & Greet package was well worth it, too. My Ibanez JS1200 Joe Satriani Signature guitar finally has, well, a real signature. ;-) The privilege of actually meeting my guitar idol can't really be put into the proper words. What I can say succinctly is that Joe is incredibly generous with his time, his thoughts, and his kindness. This evening just made my whole year, and we're only 11 days into it! :)

It was great to meet you Peace Lily! Maybe I'll catch you at the next Satch PDX show, whenever that may be.

Peace,

Gary

In case you haven't already checked it out, Stu's got a new album out that Joe plays on a 2 tracks ("The Obligatory Boogie" and "Windsor Mews"). It also features Robert Fripp, Frank Gambale and Mark McGee on guitar plus Stanton Moore on drums. Audio samples on the site so if you've been wondering what Stu's been up to head over to http://www.stuhamm.com/merch.php
