So I didn't realise I'd done quite so many covers from one album.... or how "animated" I get. I guess I get right into the music, because I have no idea I'm doing it. Amusing and embarrassing all rolled into one... nice!

My versions of tracks from BSAWW.... try to enjoy the music whilst ignoring the 'theatrics' that are also going on

Premonition

Dream Song

Wind in the Trees

Heartbeats

Longing

I have Solitude and God is Crying to upload... just haven't got round to it even though they were done a while ago

G'night everyone

Just a question.........

When I use the neck pickup on my 1200, at around the 11-12 fret on the bass e string I loose all definition of tone. The guitar just goes blurghhhh... if you know what I mean.

What do you think the problem is?

JS1200- I believe Joe does a charity auction on eBay every year (I think?), where you can bid on a private lesson with him, and the proceeds are given to charity. So, the cost would depend on how many people you were bidding against I suppose. I'm not sure what time of year he does that; probably depends on his schedule. He may not even do it every year.

Funkwood- I really hope that you don't have a legitimate expectation of Joe to personally apologize to you because you are the only one of 900 people that have complained that his show was too loud that night. Like Michelle said, it probably had more to do with the location in which you were sitting and the sound guy. If you are fortunate enough to sit somewhere that you can directly hear Joe's amp, the sound it not at all bad, it's the sound system and the giant speakers that it's sent through that make your ears ring. And if your tinnitus is so bad, shame on you for taking your earplugs out. Joe shouldn't have to accommodate his shows to sensitive ears or other medical problems unless he is playing at the Veteran's Home. Not trying to be rude or run you off, I'm just on Joe's side this time.

Ian

I wouldn't know Joe's schedule for charity auctions, but the last two lessons happened in 2008 and 2010, so there ya go. By that timing, I'd keep an eye open for a possible auction sometime this year, or next, although the guy seems to be getting busier and busier as time goes by, instead of slowing down any. The prices between the 2 lessons varied considerably, as Ian said, it depends on how many others are bidding. U gotta set a top price in yer head and budget before you bid, and try to stick to it :)

Weather here has been so lovely it's giving me spring fever...wish I could plant some pretty flowers, but I just know a blizzard is hanging out there, waiting for me to do it!!

I MISS JOE!! HAVING WITHDRAWALS HERE!!

Thanks Scubz but this problem only occurs when I'm using the neck pickup, something that I forgot to mention was that on the 14-16 frets on the A string on the neck pickup the same thing happens. Everything is fine on the bridge pickup.....

Thanks for the feedback guys and understanding my situation. Believe me, if I had known this was gonna happen, I certainly would not have gone to the concert to begin with. The last time I attended a Satch concert was way back in the late 80's or early 90's...I don't remember the exact year, but i had tinnitus back then also. I remember it being qiute loud, but nowhere near the same loudness level of the recent concert. At that concert I didn't wear earplugs and had no lasting side effects that I recall....This concert was different though, and I was seated at the very back of the theatre.

Turbo: I'm certainly not looking for sympathy or an apology from Joe. That would be pointless and would do nothing to improve my current situation. All I'm trying to do is make people (and Joe) aware of the potential risks involved in attending a very loud concert.Because I attended a concert for 2 hours of enjoyment, I now have to live the rest of my life with the damaging effects of it. I'm sure there are other people out there that have had their hearing damaged from similar events. Maybe they should post warning signs and hand out earplugs to anybody who wants them before entering the concert halls. Or maybe the sound people should take decible readings to ensure that the sound level is the same at every venue they play at.

This is one concert I'll never forget, and will be constantly reminded of it 24/7 for the rest of my life. If I can even help one person avoid going through what I'm going through now, it will be worth the effort.....So I sure hope Joe reads this message and takes appropriate steps to help other loyal fans from going through a living hell.

Thanks Joe.

*INTERESTING INFORMATION* (Haven't posted in a while. But I have something that may intrigue people)

I was shufflin' around on Youtube a little and I saw the "Show Me The Way" music video by Styx. And I noticed that it was very similar to Joe's "I Believe' music video.

Here are the similarities: 1. It takes place in a desert-like, western town. 2. The boy is the main focus of the video. 3. There is the white church with the wooden steeple on top. 4. The scene with the marbles falling in slow-motion. (Yes, both videos have that.) 5. And the most important part; the lyrics. Basically they refer to the downfall of society

-I Believe- "I read the stories, see the photographs. World's in a crazy space. I've got to hold on, to my dreams. There's just no other place."

-Show Me the Way- "And every day, I'm more confused as the saints turn into sinners." "That I wake up each morning, and turn on the news to find we've so far to go. And I keep on hoping for a sign, so afraid that I just won't know"

-I Believe- "I Believe, we can change anything. I believe, we can rise above it. I believe, there's a reason for everything. I believe in my dream."

-Show Me The Way- "Give me the strength and the courage to believe that I'll get there someday.

(Notice how BELIEVE is in both lyrics.)

It's just a very interesting coincidence how alike these songs and videos are. Not to mention Joe's song was released in 1989 and Styx's song was released in 1990. Now I'm not trying to accuse Styx of anything, because I like their music a lot. But this is just too damn close.

Here are the vids: I Believe-Joe Satriani
