Just saw your gear reviews online with Premier Guitar and Music Radar. They were a lot of fun to watch. The new Marshall looks awesome. Your youtube channel rocks! If you ever come to Utah the Egyptian Theater in Ogden is the place to play. It reminds me of the Uptown in Kansas City. Hope all is well.

d12dan20 - I'm going to say it's 100% practice. I've never had a lesson, I certainly don't have any 'natural talent', and have been teaching myself for the last two years, and I'm actually starting to see big improvements in my playing now. I'll admit, I can tell that my technique is not perfect, and I've picked up some bad habits, but I'm trying to work myself out of them at the moment and it looks and feels like its working. It will probably feel really weird and unnatural to start of with, but just stick with it. You can do it!

I may have mentioned this before, but if your tinitus is that bad, then don't EVER attend anything involving Yngwie Malmsteen, even if it's just him and one amp!!!!! He only has one volume for playing, and from what i've experienced,it's everything on ten multiplied by everything on 10!!!! Nigel Tuffnel eat your heart out!!!!

Lmao Michelle.... you peeps just won't let the red gown thing go will you... well, I'm smiling so cheers
Madeoftears - hi, thanks for the note. I really wish I was there, it was such a cool time in 08 and I will be repeating. Hope to see you when I do
Thanks Skip, knew I could rely on you. Amazing how so many people have seen my arse, I'm such a private guy
Scuba - nice one. Amp day soon, excited for you
Funkwood - that's bad news. It clearly varies from venue to venue and country. For the UK dates I attended this year it was actually the quietest it's ever been and whilst it was still rocking out I didn't need plugs as I have done previously. Compare that with Reno 08 or Chickenfoot 09... plugs required for sure. Pretty sure it's down to the front of house sound team for the volume we get? Sorry to hear that anyway
Peace Lilly - that's great you're getting so much time with baby. I heard a great description for that affliction recently (wanting to hold so much)... but it's dropped right out of my head for now. Cool link, thanks
This is making me laugh - what the hell is that.... Dream Song improv outro... don't think that'll ever happen twice, no idea where it came from or how. Bemused

So I didn't realise I'd done quite so many covers from one album.... or how "animated" I get. I guess I get right into the music, because I have no idea I'm doing it. Amusing and embarrassing all rolled into one... nice!
My versions of tracks from BSAWW.... try to enjoy the music whilst ignoring the 'theatrics' that are also going on

Dream Song

Heartbeats

I have Solitude and God is Crying to upload... just haven't got round to it even though they were done a while ago

...hey morning man .I did the phne thing with my mom the no longdistance thing ..........I do have a really big problem ,man the phone thing is part of me knocking some sense into my own head.Listen to me Joe because I have schziophrenia it,s illegal for me to have an operation like heart thing,s Pacemaker etc on the street I been haveing her tested and were good stable. The operation legally can only be done by a Patiac faciltty whic mean ,s a justice bearing facilty to deal with great strength .because schizophrenia makes your veins arteries organs and fleshalmost up to 300,000 x stronger and the only place legally that can do it is kingston penitenatrie.Umthey dont tell you this hey it,s from my own exam and exerpt if I did have the opearation on the steret the consequences are very severe man you here me .Like then I am crazy! you know?they would most likely they have to calculate the body after you do that theirs a place man sort of like jailwith these special materials on the ceilings walls and floors I would be locked up for somewhere betwen 17-21 years The dentist thing toattly illegal my girlfriend and second wife has been doing it but the police are allowed to shoot me like wound me bust us and take me in it,s againsta the law to clean bone of teeth when you have schizophrenia unless it,s arranged organized and your part of a psychatric hospiatl so their you have it,s so I always have to be on the lookout their this is true man anyways more coffee wolf2.

Just a question.........
When I use the neck pickup on my 1200, at around the 11-12 fret on the bass e string I loose all definition of tone. The guitar just goes blurghhhh... if you know what I mean.
What do you think the problem is?

JS1200- I believe Joe does a charity auction on eBay every year (I think?), where you can bid on a private lesson with him, and the proceeds are given to charity. So, the cost would depend on how many people you were bidding against I suppose. I'm not sure what time of year he does that; probably depends on his schedule. He may not even do it every year.
Funkwood- I really hope that you don't have a legitimate expectation of Joe to personally apologize to you because you are the only one of 900 people that have complained that his show was too loud that night. Like Michelle said, it probably had more to do with the location in which you were sitting and the sound guy. If you are fortunate enough to sit somewhere that you can directly hear Joe's amp, the sound it not at all bad, it's the sound system and the giant speakers that it's sent through that make your ears ring. And if your tinnitus is so bad, shame on you for taking your earplugs out. Joe shouldn't have to accommodate his shows to sensitive ears or other medical problems unless he is playing at the Veteran's Home. Not trying to be rude or run you off, I'm just on Joe's side this time.
Ian

I wouldn't know Joe's schedule for charity auctions, but the last two lessons happened in 2008 and 2010, so there ya go. By that timing, I'd keep an eye open for a possible auction sometime this year, or next, although the guy seems to be getting busier and busier as time goes by, instead of slowing down any. The prices between the 2 lessons varied considerably, as Ian said, it depends on how many others are bidding. U gotta set a top price in yer head and budget before you bid, and try to stick to it :)
Weather here has been so lovely it's giving me spring fever...wish I could plant some pretty flowers, but I just know a blizzard is hanging out there, waiting for me to do it!!
I MISS JOE!! HAVING WITHDRAWALS HERE!!

Thanks Scubz but this problem only occurs when I'm using the neck pickup, something that I forgot to mention was that on the 14-16 frets on the A string on the neck pickup the same thing happens. Everything is fine on the bridge pickup.....
