Pip,
I think you asked me about the JSX amp before and I told you the FX loop sucked. Well, I stand corrected, it was the crummy effects I had plugged in to the thing that did all the sucking. I re did everything this week and used decent pedals instead. Now it sounds wonderful! I still sense a volume discrepancy between switching channels but that is something that can be fixed easily!
Anyway, that's it!

Two Shay- Not sure if you caught this one, but Do The Stu was able to attend the pre-screening of the show, which was the same edit as the theater mix as I understand, and this is what he had to say:
Hi everyone...
I was able to catch yesterday's sneak preview of Satchurated 3D (Thanks to mikesb for hooking me up with a ticket!), and I wanted to stop by here and share a few words about it.
In one sentence, this rivals Live In San Francisco as my favorite Satch recording.
The video is shot differently than most live DVDs I've seen, which is quite refreshing. There's no fast cutting from shot to shot, and there aren't too many extreme close-ups of band members. A lot of the cameras were positioned in a way where you see the stage edges and walls of the theater, which I thought was a nice touch. And in some of the shots from the back, you can see the heads of the people standing up front, just at the lip of the stage. So you really feel like you're in the venue watching the show. I also like how most of the shots include several band members. There were a lot of Joe/Jeff/Allen/Galen shots from one end, or Joe/Mike shots from the other end. You can see everyone doing their thing and it's great.
The 3D is not distracting at all. It's not gimmicky (no pointing of guitar necks at cameras, etc.); with the way the film was shot it really just adds to the feeling that you're in the venue. The crowd is in front, then Joe, then Jeff, then the video screens are in the back.
I love the audio mix. Mike was up there pretty high, but not so much as to distract from Joe. And Jeff's toms sound great in theater surround sound.
The version we saw was only 90 minutes long (I assume this is the theater cut that we'll all get in March), but the credits list the full setlist so the in-store release should have everything. It was disappointing that the theater edit left out some of my favorite songs (Memories, Dream Song, Why), but I'll just have to wait for that. Pyrrhic Victoria was awesome, though! :-)
...Austin...
Apart from that, I've not seen a review about it on any part of the web. (Well, except for the noob on Amazon.com). I can say that the Blu-Ray (which I contacted Amazon about to have them list as 3D you may notice now) and the DVD both list a running time of 120 minutes; that's a half-hour longer than the theater cut. Plus, the Amazon page shows the DVD and Blu-Ray as being 2-Disc versions instead of 1, so I assume there will be plenty of bonus footage for us to enjoy as well. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for some un-edited tracks from Live in Paris.... Just like..22 of them!

Hi Michelle,
I wasn't sure if she asked for permission. I thought she was like the rest of them who use the sample and act as if they did nothing
wrong. My mistake.
Joe....guest/guest guitarist......That Metal Show. Is it in the works or what?

Hi Joe! Any chance G3 will play in the Bay Area in 2012 or beyond? Travelled to the benefit concert for Cliff II in July 2011 at the House of Blues in Hollywood - awesome show!!! We were front row standing on your side of the stage.
How is Cliff doing?
See you at Harrah's Lake Tahoe on 5/4/12!!

roger777, when the planets line up, yes he does. Check out "Joe Messages" at the top of the page.
Congrats grandpa!
Chee, tell Crippers good luck! Glad he has all his energies going into something so beneficial for him. Sorry to hear how you're going to spend your day. *sigh* Give Deb a hug for me. My mom is doing really good at the moment despite the news she has pneumonia in her left lobe. God gave us our little Vivvy back. I know it's temporary, but we'll take every bit of it we can get. We thought last Friday was the end, and a week later she's back to the nursing home, doing p.t., and laughing at my jokes. lol! Didn't think I'd get to see that again. So grateful. Rollercoaster Grandma strikes again.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Chelle, thanks, as you know, he's very self-motivated when something catches his interest and will go into it whole-heartedly. One of the cool things that will happen is he'll get to meet one of the Radio Shack team members who rode in the Tour de France last year. That's almost as good as meeting Joe to him :) He loves his heros!
Happy St Patricks day everyone and YAYYYYYYY VIVVY!! Maybe if you take her some candy apple red heels, it might rev her up more, lol!!! Love ya :)

well I'm racking up quite the JS collection. I just bought an Ice9 overdrive and the Time Machine delay pedals.
Whats the best signal chain for my setup?
JS1000 into a Big Bad Wah, Satchurator Distortion, Ice9 Overdrive, Time Machine Delay, Digitech RP90, into a Peavey ValveKing Royal 8.
I know Joe starts with the Wah.

Guitarman- I know that Joe runs his delays through the FX loop, as do I. I also run my digitech RP and a harmonizer through the loop as well. Otherwise your setup sounds about like mine. I have way too many pedals though. I picked up an Ice 9 the other day, I usually tend to stray away from OD pedals, and this one will probably be no exception. I usually use two boss DS-1 and they work just dandy!
Here's the link to an old rig rundown vid with Joe Bosso and Mike Manning. If you search youtube for "Joe Satriani Rig Rundown" you'll find another one by Premier Guitar that goes over his BSAWW setup.

CHEERS to all the bald guys out there!
Head shavers unite!
I was just messing with my hubs today telling him that he could grow out a side patch and tuck it behind his ear until it was long enough for a frontal noggin comb~over. My daughter almost pissed herself laughing!
Anybody listen to the new ANTHRAX cd yet? It's soooo good!
WOOT! Sounds great cranked to 11!
