Hi Everyone.
Just got back home from Goshen running that indoor marathon. It went really well, at least I didn't "hit the wall" and the legs didn't give me any trouble. I came in 2nd place overall and of all the runners who ran Saturday and today, I had the 4th fastest. My time was 3 hours, 18 minutes, and 27 seconds; so consider that my fastest indoor marathon time. Legs are still a little sore. One of my buddies won the whole thing so it was great that we finished first and second.
Here are the results

I have been thinking of buying a js100.
I have always played strats.
Does anyone out there know if the js100 has a nice fat sound?
I have become fed up with the single coil thin sound.
I want something nice chunky and fat.

helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer. * FrankZappa

State wrestling is over , my son did not win the top spot this year, but he took #2 in the 1A-2A 189 lbs. A decent finish but kinda hard after having been #1 last year . Such is life but momma feels still bad . ....... :(

The JS's are probably the closest to a strat type sound and feel on an ibanez, and i love the play and feel of strats the JS just kinda takes it to the next level, very very pleasant guitars to play with very cool tone options
If you like strats, the JS will be nice

Too Shay - I am very proud of my son ....he gave his all ...he always does. I am just strangely emotional today....all the prep & time & rushing around preparing for these events. And it was his last high school competition ...life is moving on to the next stage,

Apparently, 1 in 5 people in the world are Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad or my older brother Colin. Or my younger brother Ho-Cha-Chu. But I think it's Colin.

Wow.. took me a while to get thru back posts... how is everyone? Happy Birthday Chris! I'm still Bucketheading quite heavily, but I've found a whole new addiction that's consumed my soul... Porcupine Tree. Holy guacamole! These guys are absolutely amazing. I started out with Fear Of A Blank Planet and then moved on to Deadwing, I can't get enough. Now I'm on to their newest album The Incident. Brilliant stuff. Give 'em a listen.
I just had to include one more from Deadwing, Lazarus, quite possibly one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
smooches,
» Phył

Strat Highway gets a lower quality than Strat Standard. It's just ok. Can be good for a beginning.
If you are really looking for your own Strat tone, get a standard one. Here is the essential spirit of Fender Strat. A single coil polyvalent guitar built with two pieces of wood. Practice it.
You'll see with time what kind of modifications you'll need or not.
It's just my point.

Jeff Beck wrecks the tone's timeline. Genius.
Gilmour's tone has no specific chronological time. Genius.

Stratoibanez... I have a JS2400, which does have different pickups than the 1200... but to my knowledge, the 2400 has a bit more meat to the pickups. Having said that, I recently bought a Les Paul (Slash Signature model) for a great price, and when it comes to meaty riffs and a bit more balls, without the kick-ass 'active pickup' sound, I prefer my Les Paul to the 2400. I do the rhythm tracks with the Les Paul, but my lead stuff with the 2400. The JS guitars are great solo type instruments, but the more crunchy stuff, in my opinion, needs to come from a humbucking guitar. Some Les Pauls are fitted with Alnico or Alnico II pickups... my guitar has the latter... and you can split the pickups for less 'oomph' if desired (more balls than a strat, but a thinner sound than full humbucking). Hope that helps.
