Thoughts and prayers to those in Japan. My sister lives on the north shore of Maui near Kahului. She was ok because she doesn't live right on the beach and it was in the middle of the night so nobody was at the beach. Guess the water level rose 10 feet during the surge. Anyways, just got back from Vegas seeing the NASCAR races and Eric Clapton in concert last weekend for my birthday. Clapton is truly one of the greats. Also had a great time at the race track and got a picture of me and Danica Patrick together (for the second time!!) and also got to meet drag racing legend John Force and his daughter. The coolest thing--during the driver introductions they were playing the Satch song "War" in the background--I couldn't believe it, especially after just hearing that song live a couple of months ago on the wormhole tour! What a weekend!!:D Kai

Hey. Long time, no see!

How is going with all of you?

I have started playing piano and I have already started composing my own pieces. They are getting really good, according to other people and me. I have just recorded four of my classical pieces. I will upload them as soon as possible when they have gotten some EQ and a little reverb :D

Sorry to hear about your dad Greg. Condolences to you and your family!
All my thoughts and prayers to all the people in Japan!
Sincerely, Mark
Have a great time!

PS: Did I ever show you my theory about the creation of our universe? I really can't remember if i did :P

Joe, you sir, are a twitterwhore today. lol!

So glad to hear Mikey & the girls (and the duck) are okay. I know he's south, but with something so huge you just never know. Any of you guys still in touch with him, tell him I miss him here on t2j. Thanks for the update on his family.

Every now and again I have tsunami nightmares. Probably my worst fear. The unimaginable horror those people are going through. It just breaks my heart. What lesson does this teach us?

Mother nature can certainly be a bitch, no doubt about it.

Isn't it exciting that Joe has over 1 million Facebook fans now?! Even my mother signed on! Steve Vai is eating Joe's dust in that field (and many others IMO :) ).

I should be having a little bit of a new gear day as soon as the Fedex man shows up. I ordered a new Wilkinson/Gotoh trem and some Schaller locking tuning machines for my guitar. The trem should be here literally any minute now. I paid extra to have it here before the weekend so I could get it installed. The current one has had better days.

Cheese- If San Fran weren't so far away, I would go to that gig myself. I'm surprised you are even debating it! It may be awhile before Joe is solo in our neck of the woods again...

Ian, I know, believe me I know. The problem is financial only, not one of desire! I've always had the attitude of getting to see Joe as often as possible, no matter what it takes...and would and have driven through hellish weather conditions to do just that. Plus juggled a lot in my life in order to make it happen. But the economy is catching up, there's only so far the pennies will stretch and everything is getting worse instead of better. We're facing an up to $700 pay cut per month coming up soon. That's more than I know how to handle. So necessities, like traveling to see Joe, may have to go. And believe me, it's a necessity, lol! He's pretty much our only break from "normal" and stressful life! But it's getting mighty tough out there for myself, and soooo many others. I've been blessed to have done what we have so far, very blessed.

And like I said, still pondering, trying to find a way to make it work....while also having an eye towards any other possible opportunities later this year (pretty unlikely if those pay cuts go through, cuz I'll prolly be in a tent sitting in the dark, lol!). We don't want to miss this but dang.....pondering, pondering, juggling....

And then the perspective of what's happening in Japan. We're so damn lucky here and don't always recognize it or appreciate it. My heart goes out to humanity.

Meanwhile, enjoying that twitterho Joseph today, he musta had a whole 30 minutes to himself with nothing to do except twitter to peeps, LOL!! Fun!!

HA!! lol!!

Met a very sweet elderly couple today. They needed our program's help to move into assisted living. Each of them had to meet eligibility for us to be able to pay, and I was a bit worried that she would meet, but he wouldn't. So talked to them about alternatives just in case. He said it would be okay, whatever is to happen is what will be, as long as they are together. Nothing much else mattered to him than that, other than making sure his wife would receive care.

Some days, I love my job even though it drives me insane with stress and causes regular brain cramping due to so much policy, rules and regs. They both qualified so I had the joy of letting them know it's okay to have their family start packing them up for the next adventure in life.

As long as they could stay together.....really nice to see and hear.

been playing a lot of guitar. Learning more stuff staying positive and motivated as well!!! Been getting prices for amps and pedals! Super excited about that!

got new guitar picks. Very heavy. I read somewhere that very heavy picks are bad on the strings, is it true? I hate the flimsy ones! Ha

side note....got a number for a doc that has had a lot of experience with cervical cancer. Trying to get in and get seen!

Brian - GREAT PICS!!!! Thanks for sharing those. Nice to see pics of the other band members too, and your fab family.

Well with all the coverage of Japan's awful disaster and potential effects on the Pacific rim countries and islands, I had the house to myself for a little while and I put on my playlist of all Joe's love songs and ballads and cleaned like mad. Very zen.

Have a great weekend everyone. We have a long weekend so a lovely 3 days off.

Cheese - ah, a rotten dilemma there, and not good news re the paycuts. *hugs* and I hope it turns out well.

The BBC's Nick Ravenscroft was on his way towards Fukushima, but about 60km from the plant was stopped by the police and told it was too dangerous to proceed. He says there is lots of traffic coming in the other direction. Authorities in vehicles with sirens are making public announcements to the crowds

This is a global problem of possible catastrophic proportions...THIS affects us all... its scary why the media has been playing this down and focusing on the earthquake and tsunami

Thanks for all the videos Mr. ZF. Some of my favorite tunes. I had not seen that Roy Bucanan before.

Very scary about the possible power plant melt down.

Michelle:I, have t call you by yer name in light of this hon, there is news contradictory to the truth and thats making people panic.its admirable how the people of Japan are able t dust off and carry on at all, news is now there are strong aftershocks of 6 plus near where the Fukushima-Daiich power plant is.My thoughts are with them all and especially T2J,s Mikey D at this time.I was in contact with him yesterday.I,ll ask if he can post up here x

Brian, why don't u and Deb go too, and we can carpool :) It's just down and back, Sat and Sun......

;) Good memories eh?? That was a decent vid if I do say so myself. Did the dvd's work? Please say yes, lol!!

Seeing Joe would be the icing on the cake at this show of course...but man are there a lot of other great players gonna be there. I'm especially looking forward to seeing Vinnie Moore play, he's a lovely guy. Chris got to see him do a clinic in Las Vegas a few years ago, but never on stage like this. This would be a show that's hard to miss.....still thinking :)

Edit: Thanks Skippy and no worries really. That big of a cut is gonna be hard to work with but....in light of everything else going on in the world, it's a minor thing, considering. I can't stop thinking about what people in Japan must be going through right now. It's gotta be pure hell :((

Hey guys and gals, it has been FOREVER since I've visited Joe's home and wow, I missed you guys! Special thanks to slanshroom (Roysan) for mentioning it....

We were spared here in Okinawa with a 30cm tsunami but my God, watching the destruction unfold on Japanese t.v. is like watching a horror flick to say the least!! I was telling slansh that the latest explosion at the nuke plant blew the outer walls down but not the "core" of the reactor..they "say" it is integrally unharmed, but they evacuated everyone within 20 kilometers of the area. The radiation "steam leaks" have subsided and it "seems" like it is under control, but it is anyones guess.... I've heard the U.S. is supplying coolant for the reactors, and add that to the tsunami destruction and it really is unbelievable what has transpired.... but, if anyone can survive and rebuild from this, it is the Japanese people..the most resilient people on the Planet! They will find a way, and if you can, please donate to the cause if possible..Japan needs all the help they can get, and again, it is nice to see you guys!!
