Austin- I'm just the opposite with Bonamassa... I'm quite fond of his solo work, but BCC did absolutely nothing for me. There is one track on their album that I kind of like, otherwise I imagine it would be painful for me to see most of those songs live.. Joe B. is a hell of a player, though. No doubt about that. I think I just expected WAY more out of a band like that. Maybe the second album will reel me in...

TSAFLEY, you did drive safely when you turned around. You did what you had to do. Car, kid, & mama are more important. Joe's a spring chicken and has another 40 or so tours ahead of him for you & C-Dawg to see. Here's a little Damage Control to make you smile :-) err, maybe just make me smile, but either way...

Hey Everyone.

I ran the 20K this morning. It was a blistery/windy one. I had a time of 1 hour, 21 minutes, and 47 seconds. I wanted to break 1:20, but the wind was just too much for me and for the runners. I came in 2nd place in my Age Division and got a pineapple, a loaf of bread, and a cool tumbler glass as my prizes. Overall, I finished 7th place.

Looking forward to hear Roy's (Slanshroom) album.

Plus, one of mycoworkers/buddies is giving me a few techniques on playing electric guitar.

Talk with you later peeps.

Grant

Teaching someone guitar while you yourself is learning, is kind of difficult, however; it makes me HAVE to learn new stuff!

I put this Stuff this morning, & then, my wife started to dance, while i was sitting onto my chair, listening to, studying. So, i stood up, & danced with her, still listening to. But dancing.

Damn, what a master piece.

Zen: Good times bro, and as you know, Jeff can do it all.... One of my faves by Jeff, and I hope Joe can talk him into doing G3 someday..he must! There are only 2 guitarists in the world that can make me cry..Jeff Beck & Joe Satriani....

Ovation _ Guitar crying.. hum.. Buchanan, Gilmour.. that's very subjective.

I get serious doubt about Beck & G3 project. Not really the same approach.. G3 is very concentrated onto guitar exhibition. Beck just hopes that when he plays, people will forget it's guitar.

I get a very deep respect for Joe. Seriously. The simple way he composed, comin' from blues. & the high way he plays solo, keeping always the melodical line, on every technical level. There's only one Satch.

Beck.. well.. in front of him, i feel like a virginal wilderness conquered.

I get my ladies :

This one is defintitly here

She sounds eventually like this

& this one is almost here

But i won't get serious stuff with her before 2012.

Still missing this one

But sure that some unexplored jazzrock comin from Beck & VH could be expanded with it. Maybe later. Maybe.

_______________

Edit _ Ovation _ sorry, that's a sleeping sunday here.. hope all is ok for you in Japan. I mean you, your family, your friends.. terrible disaster you've got there.

Hi Joe, I'm Sébastien, I have 31 years old and i am bachelor in guitar at Sherbrooke University. I want to tell you how your music is very beautiful! You are a very good guitarist. I love your guitar technics and dream to play guitare like you. I working now «Surfing with the alien», «The Forgotten part II» and «Dream Song» and i practice every day your guitar parts. I dream one day I play on stage and do a tribute to you. I am aware that I have a lot of work to do and plenty of time to put on the guitar to try to get there. I consult with «Guitar World» magazine, scores and videos of you to learn more about your style and technics. I intend to buy a new guitar which will be the Ibanez JS-2400.

I'd like to learn more about you. If you can advise me web links or partitions that can help me move forward, it would be very appreciated.

Thank you for taking the time to read my message and I hope we will communicate again soon.

Thanks Joe for your music! Sébastien

Roy - now that tune was nice, congrats to you for creating such a magical piece of music.

Tracie - sorry you didn't get to the show. When I read your posts I think of that "Ice Trucker" show about driving in ridiculously snowy conditions. Maybe you and Chrispy could get one of those Haglund ice vehicles LOL.

Anybody get to the Slim's show ?

Happy Monday peeps.

WOW! Just got back from seeing Al DiMeola, and WOW!! Fantastic show! He played in this small venue that holds about 300 people. Our seats were in the 8th row, which were great seats, but during the break our friends called us up to 2 empty seats in the third row. That's where we sat for the second half of the show. What an amazing band he had. It was Al, and another guy on guitar, a guy playing a stand up bass, a drummer, and a crazy bongo player. That guy was making everyone smile. My hubs was in heaven. He's been a huge DiMeola fan since the 70's. Great night!

JOE, DiMeola said he's been playing mostly in Europe, and he wants to come back home, so he needs SUPPORT from fans to get him here. I was thinking he'd make an amazing opening act for your evening with shows! It would be a great way to showcase a legend to those who don't know his music yet, and it would be killer for those who do. Give the guy a call for your next tour! I know, it's friggin AL DIMEOLA - a legend, but the dude just played a gig for only 300 people! Hook a brother up!!

Anybody else wanna see Al DiMeola open for a Joe show?

Al DiMeola

He played that beautiful Prism guitar as well as a kick ass acoustic.

So I mentioned this on Facebook, but I don't think I posted anything here. I start a new job tomorrow...woohoo! Finally! ;-)

It's not journalism, but it is copy editing...I'll be working in Anaheim for a company in the tax business that puts out a few newsletters and does a few other things. I promise the work isn't as boring as it sounds...haha. Anyway, I'm psyched...

michelle - It'd be great to see Al Di Meola open for Joe...I bet they'd have a lot of fun together, similar to how the PSATMOR tour was with Mountain. I've never seen Al, but I'd like to.
