Your American gas is almost 3 times cheaper than ours in Europe... Stop complaining 'bout it.

Insurance for a far less powered car in Ireland is probably double yours, and tax on an average car is about 130$ every 3 months

There is an edit button.

The cake is a lie.

On a brighter note, G.P is pretty cool. I love that cover myself!

+ Help Japan if you can.

I'm off to sleep, up playing Halo Reach all night. Just finished it on the hardest settings.... What a waste of time!

Libya is kickin' off too... Gayballs to it all.

In many parts of the world millions of people are dying in poverty from malnutrition, aids etc and the "big" countries (governments) are doing precious little to fix it. Basicly because they are not big producers of consumer goods. I have every sympathy for the Japanese people, some of whom count among my friends in what is a terrible time for them, but it doesn;t seem right to me to throw money at a rich country when millions are suffering on the 'dark continent' and other places on a far greater personal scale.

I always feel the richest when I lose everything I've ever known.

Red Cross is not the government. They are first responders and most times the only hope for victims of disaster. Food, water, blankets, shelter, HOPE.

With all due respect, the last few posts from you guys literally turn my stomach. It's embarrassing, and I'd like to think that we are bigger than that. I guess some of us are, and some of us aren't.

Two Shay said it very well.

And, yes, most problems on the BIG level here in America I will agree have been caused by greed and stupidity; however, there are innocent people suffering on the small level because of that greed and stupidity. Education in many states is getting cut and cut and cut year after year. Like I said earlier, the list goes on and on; and as Two Shay pointed out, there are other countries that have been riddled with aids and malnutrition for decades and little is being done about it. But only when there's a MASSIVE natural disaster does charity or donation become involved, and again, the biggest long-term problem continues to be overlooked.

srv guy- Joe's latest CD is in many people's opinion the best one he's put out since Crystal Planet. I don't know if I'd go THAT far myself, simply because there is some damn fine work in between there, but the new one is definitely worth more than what it's going for on Amazon.com and it was a blast to see/hear most of the songs live!

Two Shay;

Are you talking about the stereotypical Africa ("dark continent") issue (which is the second biggest continent with 50+ countries and a population of about a billlion/1,000,000,000 people) as one of those places suffering with aids and malnutrition and that we should all help them first!? They have lots of volunteers and charities constantly there. It's just a MASSIVE SCALE. I see at least 3-4 commercials every single day about charities and donations to people in poverty including Africa... Remember Live aid!? There's charities and volunteers constantly there in many African countries still.

Africa has an abundance of natural resources that get shipped all around the world. One thing I seen recently was the Coltan and Colbalt mines in the Congo... Coltan is used in the manufacture of electronic capacitors and in consumer electronics products such as cell phones, dvd players, video game consoles and computers. Have a look around the room you are in there... The Congolese army and Militia are constantly in battle for control of these mines with threats of rape and murder for resistance.

The workers who mine manually have no idea where these resources go but they are sold for considerably more than they are paid, to large electronics producers for a fraction of the cost. Why isn't this brought to the attention of more people!? We know about the corporate companies using cheap labour but do we do anything about it? ...No, we buy a new pair of adidas trainers instead.

Just remember that the laptop you're reading this on and the phones you use on a daily basis, probably has blood on it.

Charity starts at home yes, but don't be ignorent to help people in need when a chaotic event happens. Snow is due in Japan, supplies are running out, the nuclear crisis is on an unpresidented scale and said to be in an apocalyptic state. Theres not many nations on the planet that could be so resilient and have some order during an event of this nature. The situation is getting worse.

Cop the f*ck on people.

Just to toss a half-cent of opinion in here, I agree that there are problems all over the world that need attention, home soil or foreign...my point is....we are all human beings regardless. We all share that one trait just like we share this planet and should care for one another through good times and bad. Each person has to decide for themselves what they can or can't do for others. Nationality shouldn't play into it. Humanity should.
