I don't need to read the story about Westboro to know that they're up to their usual business. Honestly, though, I'm surprised some old Vietnam-era Marine Sniper hasn't snuck in to one of their appearances and took a few of them out. I know I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. They'll get what's coming to them, I'm sure.

I've really been into the middle-eastern-ish music the last couple of months. Listening to some Sitar music today. It's just really hard to find decent quality recordings anywhere that I know to look. Anyone know of any good Indian/Arabic type music? I've just been searching Youtube and not coming up with much...

I thought I read somewhere that Coldplay were going to call it quits?? Maybe I was just dreaming that. Anyway, all lawsuits aside, I actually like SOME of their earlier stuff.

Ian

Very much looking forward to the show at Slim's Saturday night. I know we're in for a wonderful night of fantastic music with many different players, bonus!

But for me, the biggest thing is the reason for coming together...Jason Becker, a man fighting a terrible disease.

We have a young man here in my community who has ALS. I first met him when they applied for in-home services and I did their intake/eligibility, etc. His wife had been caring for him with help from an amazing extended family, but his care needs kept increasing to the point she could no longer work to support their family. He had some extreme needs for care and equipment that they just couldn't do on their own anymore. I was very humbled by the experience and glad we have a program that was able to help.

Almost 3 years later, he's still at home with his wife and children, fighting so hard to stay with them...and facing his own mortality with a great deal of grace. He is on a ventilator, can no longer move and must be suctioned frequently to prevent him from choking to death. Before he lost the ability to speak, he said every day he can open his eyes and see his wife and children is a day full of blessings. He still smiles with his eyes most of the time.

So yeah....we go to support Jason as best we can. Thanks Joe, for being a part of this. I've always loved your heart and spirit for many reasons, this is one of them.

I wish i was going to Slim's, but I'll settle for seeing Al DiMeola Sunday night. The hubs has seen him a few times, but this will be my first. I'm expecting a jaw dropping performance. Bonamassa loved my old home town last night. lol! Neeeeever go south of Penn. lmao! That was so funny because the entire 26 years I lived there, you never went south of the main street. You could go north and east as far as you wanted, but don't go south, or west of the tracks. LOL! They'll stick a bitch. So funny he got that. lol!

Loved this tune! Never heard it before last night. I was smiling so much my cheeks hurt. lol! The sound was amazing from where we were sitting.

michelle - You've seen some great shows lately...I have some catching up to do!

I'm seeing Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes at the Echoplex up in Hollywood on Monday. It's the first show of an acoustic tour he's doing; I have no idea what the sets will be like, but it should be fun.

What shows does everyone else have coming up?

...Austin...

Michelle- That Bonamassa tune is the first track off his new album... I hope you picked up a copy at the show if you didn't already have one!!

He's definitely on my "bucket list" of guitarists to see before I die.. Just wish he'd come a little closer than Portland. There's only one Joe that I travel long distances for.

Austin- Nothing scheduled for me as of now. No performers scheduled to appear around here that I know of, although B.B. King was just here and I found out about it AFTER the fact. The venues here don't do a very good job of promoting their events.

Castle- Thanks for the tip on that music. I'll definitely look into it..

Scub- Will check twitter today. Obviously I'm not on there much.
